Good how to video but you never mentioned that you need to permanently remove the disc drive to allow enough room for the converter

I have the sweetest memories of playing Gran Turismo 4 on my big brother's slim PS2 when I was like 8 (2009) and if I have enough money someday, I would like to buy another slim PS2 if it uses HDMI, just so I can connect it with Huawei Vision S (television) and to watch latest movies with it!

i use the same hdmi adapter but my tv never gets audio i thought it would be a an easy attatch and play deal but now my ps2 just collecting dust. love the mod install tho keep up the good work

Great PS2 mod all he did was to take parts from the HDMI converter and solder it to the the PS2 slim console

True just remove the old video AV OUT on the sega saturn and mod a HDMI 16:9 adapter to the console

it’s recommended to use extra 5v for stability. But it works just fine without it. Cause it takes 5v from video output, check the diagram in the description (PIN number 10)

Yes but my ps2 was badly rusted and I didn’t take the risk to get rid of that connector cause I could easily damage the pins on board. You can take a look at the restoration video

I used the cheapest hdmi ps2 converter from Taobao. Well, I guess there is an option to extend hdmi port and use a flex cable for it in and place the converter somewhere on the board.

@@ReMARKCHANNEL thanks for getting back to me i found the hdmi ps2 converter on eBay and ordered two incase there is a mishap with installation then once they arrive i will be attempting this mod. I found in another video that the converter fits nicely beside internet jack

Nah, I think what he is doing is just hardwiring the converter to the mobo.

keep in mind that it is just a HDMI converter and the results will be the same. So you can output 1080i

It's purely for aesthetics, a slim ps2 kind of loses its figure with a dongle hanging out it's ass while a cord loops around the front

Yeah it's just an external adapter converted to be internal. IG a fun project if you got a spare ps2 sitting around. Though by the end of this year we should be getting the PixelFX PS2 hdmi mod for that nice pure digital no conversion signal :)
