Xenosaga 1 cutscenes are known to be extremely cpu intensive so you are probably getting the desync because of a bad framerate. Shadow Hearts 1 speed can be fixed by using GSdx DX9 hardware mode

@Mujkelos Not so weird, Xenosaga I is one of the hardest to emulate games on PCSX2 and your 2.27 Ghz are not enough. You should need an i5 at around 3,4-3.6 Ghz to get full speed throughout this game

I'm noticing that the audio emulation isn't perfect in the Battle Theme. When playing the game on a PS2 Phat, PS2 Slim, and 60 GB PS3, there is artificial reverb added to the audio. I am noticing that said artificial reverb is missing in this case. Is it possible to configure the emulator so it emulates the audio 100% accurately, like a PS2 would play?

Yeah it's a known issue and unsolvable yet. It's specific save points that do this not all, so you can use states to save in between the non working ones to the working ones

@ExcelLied Please post in english. You get that error because your ISO image is corrupt or damaged, remake it from your dvd disc using imgburn.

Try recreating (or creating if you're running off the disc) an ISO image of the game using imgburn. This is a DVD9 (dual layer) game so the ISO should be around 8GB if ripped correctly

this one did well even with default settings.. the problem is really the 3rd game. I've tried messing around with all the settings but there are still problems that I have no idea how to fix lol

While i'm not a fan of the music myself in ep.1, it's missing instruments in this video, not sure if it is youtube or the emulator's fault, but it has the missing instruments on the newer pcsx2 versions.

Ok if I have time stretch on the voice acting sounds slow and drunk in cutscenes, if I turn that off Audio sounds fine but then is out of sync. I just can't get the right settings for the game to work smooth enough

@DJ17Nario It should be fixed with the latest SPU2-X plugin, the video was taken before the major overhaul of the reverb engine in the plugin, so just use that and see how it does.

Yeah using the new build after looking at your other videos actually fixed the problem yesterday. But oddly enough using the settting for more cores actually slowed it down, other than that it stays at 60 fps no problem. Thanks for the feedback sir much appreciated though.

Not sure if anyone would know this, but in the last dungeon, several of the Gnosis-type enemies have symbols on their undersides if you rotate them. Does anyone have any idea what the hell those are supposed to be?

Hm it could be your onboard HD graphics bugging it...also try the SSE2/4 version of GSdx too

I created a iso image for rogue galaxy from my copy that wouldn't read on my ps2 slim;and the cutscenes on occasion have frame issues. also, during battle the will occasionally flick blue. have other ppl reported this problem,or is it because my iso became corrupt do to scratches on the disc?

Yeah cutscenes in Xenosaga 1 are extremely heavy you need something like 3,8 Ghz to get full speed

Half Pixel fixes the puppet strings, and x 0090 gets rid of the lines on the right side of "New Game" and "Continue" at start screen. As for the in-battle menus, I don't know how to fix that. Also I have an issue with pixelated harsh text with chat boxes which appears to be the same issue you are having in this video..

I set my emulator up exactly the same as yours. I'm running an Intel Corei5 2500k @ 3.3Ghz and a GTX 560 TI However, when I start the game, I get a black screen with the minimap in the bottom left corner, I can open the menu but when i go to characters nothing is there. I can't do anything. Any Idea how to fix this? Thanks.

To hear how the Battle Theme is supposed to sound, look up on KZbin "KirbyY15 Xenosaga" and you should find a video called "Xenosaga Episode I Music - Battle theme Extended [Request]". That's how it sounded on the PS2, and I'd like to know how to configure PCSX2 to emulate the sound accurately.

Is there a solution to FPS (avg 38-40) drops when there are battles with a lot of AGWS or explosions? So far the only way I could make it run smooth in those situations was changing back to DX9 native resolution. Otherwise the game runs smooth at 60fps on 1080p with i5-3350p and R7770 ghz

You can try checking 'allow 8-bit textures' in GSdx or setting the renderer to a DX9 (hardware).

This game needs a very fast processor to work full speed, I'd say around 3,6 Ghz and of new architecture (Intel i series or AMD Piledriver)

@Mujkelos No problem :) You can try other games which aren't that demanding, there are some that will work at full speed using some speed hacks with your PC ;)

Not even close, PCSX2 typically needs a fast processor at about 3,4 Ghz for most games, and this one is one of the heavy ones, so I'd say the FPS you get are pretty good for that setup.

I recently got into playing this on pcsx2 and it works near flawlessly! But one problem I seem to have is when I try to save my game at save points in the game, It makes the emulator crash to the ps2 bios screen. I'm using the 1.0.0 build. Not sure. About cores you don't need more than 4. You need a processor with nice IPC (instructions per cycle) like the i5/i7s clocked at 3,8 or something should do it

Your ISO is probably wrong (this is a dvd9 game so it should be around 8gb) or you are using an old PCSX2 version

It's NTSC-J only, but as the spectacular Tales of Rebirth and Tales of Destiny R appear on your compatibility list as fully playable, as guess so should it, it's much simpler graphically.

You will get slowdowns but depending on your tolerance to low FPS it will be playable

OK then you need to create an ISO image because we have issues reading DVD9 discs. Create it using the free imgburn project, then run the ISO directly. It should solve your problem

This game gets a slowdown to like 42 fps when there are 3 agws on the field. In the battle on the utic battleship where you face a soldier who gets into an agws, i put jr into an agws to match up and the when the slowdown happens.

I've been trying to run this game smoothly for the longest time, but it's just so CPU intensive! Battles are running a steady 60 fps but cutscenes are hell. I recently got a new graphics card thinking it might help a bit, even though it's my CPU's problem and not the GPU. But it didn't help A SINGLE BIT! However now I can run a bunch of other games that are more GPU intensive, such as Shadow Hearts 1 with no lag! But I guess I'd have to get an entirely new CPU to get Xenosaga 1 working...

so i have AMD A8 Quad Core processor at 2.4ghz and 8GB of Ram and Raedon HD 6750 Crossfired with the APU which is 6620 and i still only get 40-50 FPS when running battles etc. is my specs to low, i thought for sure id be able to run this easy and flawless

PCSX2 only uses 3 cores, so 8 cores doesn't matter much. If you have an AMD bulldozer, they perform very badly with PCSX2 (they are even slower than the Phenom 2 clock for clock)

Sorry to tell you but the new AMD FX series performs very badly on PCSX2 (even worse than it's predecessor Phenom 2...) PCSX2 does not use more than 3 cores and the new architecture of AMD proved to be slower than it's predecessor in the same frequency (i.e. a phenom 2 at 3,3 Ghz is faster than your FX 6100 at 3,3 Ghz). All I can suggest is use the latest SVN build, enable the MTVU speed hack and overclock your CPU if possible.
