PS4 Power On via Logitech Harmony

Not sure if others feel the same, but a step-by-step tutorial on how you set up all these things. Also, any suggestions on how to do this if we don't have a spare phone to use to launch the remote connect and/or don't want to launch the PS4 remote play from our personal phone?

I ordered the the harmony on amazon. looked at your channel. 4 uploads 17k on the echo. . I would be freaking out. You did a great job better than most explaining alexa. the dot sold for$39.99 on black Friday. you have an audience. God speed.

Would it be possible to have Alexa trigger a harmony command that then activates tasker to launch and then close the remote play app?

I'm using an old sony tv with bravia sync. The tv can turn on the Ps4 without any issues. I go on the bravia sync menu and select "device selection". The tv even has the whole thiung on the history of operations so I select the ps4 from history and it switches to the input and turns on the ps4

Can the remote also be used to Eject the disk as well or Only power the System On/Off? Since I noticed some Universal Romotes lack this option and would be nice to have in the even your PS4's eject button stops working.

Well only Sony Bravia tv I can turn on the PS4 from the inputs menu. So I'm wondering if I key this into an activity I've managed to by pass this stupid thing.

Quick Question -- when you're controlling a DVD (both regular and BluRay) with the Logitech Harmony, can you use regular Logitech buttons for Play, Pause, Fast Forward, etc, or do you have to pop up a special on-screen menu to do that? I read the latter on Logitech's web site but wanted to confirm as that seems awkward. Thanks!

The problem is that the pdp ir receiver cant be found anymore. i am going to jerryrigg my powerbutton. i silder 2 wires on the button and bring them to a ir module, its cheap and good :)

Very smart plan! Literally no idea what I'm doing with EventGhost though, is there a written guide anywhere? If not, is there any chance you can zip up the correct set-up and upload it? Cheers :)

Nice work around, frustrating this is still the case in 2019. Stupid Sony. Wonder if something over HDMI can do it?
