PS4 Slim- Disassembling, Cleaning, Thermal Paste And Thermal Pads Replacement

I've been using my PS4 Slim extensively for the past 3 years, it serves me well and i didn't face any overheating issues. But as rule of thumb it's a good idea to change the thermal paste and do a deep clean at least one every 3 or 4 years. Thermal paste and thermal pads tend to lose their properties over time, which might cause serious overheating issues. So for this episode, we'll give our PS4 Slim the love it deserves, we'll do a complete step by step teardown disassemble and cleaning. I'll also replace the thermal paste and the thermal pads.
For the teardown you'll need, a decent quality thermal paste, since we're going to do a complete disassemble it's also a good idea to change the thermal pads. We'll also need two types of screwdrivers: Torx T8 and Phillips PH0. Some sort of prying tool and set of pliers would also be helpful.

I live in a tiny home shelter and there is so much dirt and dust that gets in here. I have had my ps4 brand new for one year, its a 1tb slim same as yours, I have taken it halfway apart and cleaned it a few times. One day i will use this video to do the thermal paste and pads. Currently waiting for a usb drive with the firmware on it to come in the mail, I bought a 1tb SSD for it and will install it next week. I am in los angeles and there have been 100mph winds causing so much dust and dirt to get inside, i played for a couple hours before i realized my tiny home was full of dirt and dust. I cleaned it a bit but i think i will take PS4 all the way apart and deep clean it next week when i do the SSD. I love your videos, that PS4 is so clean. That is how i would have mine but in this homeless shelter place it is really hard to keep the dirt and dust out of it 😢. Great videos thank you so much for the advice and quality content brother.

aAt the top left of the heat sink there are 3 holes. From memory, the 2 prongs fit in the putter holes so a screw can go through the centre

Ok i have all of my items for doing the paste and pads. Just hoping i got a big enough piece of thermal pads 🤦. I have a 85mmx45mm 1.0mm sheet but i wish i would have gotten the same one as you i just couldnt find it at first. I paid the same price at the Minus 8 grizzly but got habe the amount smh. Do you think if i cut the thermal pads to the same exact size to cover the chips i will have enough pads with 85mmx45mm?

You have to remove the power cable brother and power supply, brother. You can use a set of plastic pliers are a simple prying too. Don't go too hard on it, though
