Yeah but the biggest drawback in my opinion is you cannot resell games or lend them or do anything with them. You buy them and the only value you get is what you get on your system.

I think digital addition is good especially if you travel you don’t have to take all your games with you there already on the system and for the movies you have streaming services now like Netflix prime Hulu so I think the digital is a good option

I went with the disc version mainly because I already had a decent amount of physical PS4 discs and since I like buying games second hand whenever I can and that 100€ was saved rather quickly. I do prefer digital versions though as it's just so quick to launch the games and I do get them if they are in good discount or if it's a game I'm about to buy on release anyway (unless a physical copy is much cheaper elsewhere). But having the option for discs is great plus I also use it as my DVD/Blu-Ray player so it was a nobrainer for me as I was able to get rid off one more device.

Have both the PS5 and Series X. Love what each one brings to the table. I will note that I much prefer the spatial audio on PS5 for games like Warzone over my Series X with Dolby for Headphones. That, and the adaptive triggers are awesome in shooters.

bro dolby atmos with a sound bar is so much better than sonys 3d audio that dosent even work. Like its not even a comparision lmfao its literally an objective fact. Same goes for Xbox having both HDR10+ and dolby vision. Plus Xbox will do true 4k at 120 where the ps5 has to downgrade some games to 1080p for 120 with Y4.2.2 or 4.2.0. The xbox does true 4k 120 with 4.4.4(RGB). Xbox is better hardware and features. PS5 is better games and controller and Im also am lucky enough to have both with a next gen HDMI 2.1 TV.

Glad you enjoy your Atmos setup, but from my headphone usage I prefer the 3D audio. Cheers! In terms of true 4k 120fps. Which games? Everything I have seen thus far has them damn close in terms of legit PS5/Series X games with Series X having the slight resolution difference vs the PS5 with the slight performance difference. 🤷‍♂️

I will ALWAYS be in favor of physical media. I prefer a disc/cartridge over digital any day! Happy that we have options and happy that we get these options! I hope that we will still have these options in place for another generation (or two.) But it will depend on how the industry goes. If gamers decide to go digital only this generation (or the majority chooses to go digital only) then we might see an only digital console. So the PS6 might only be digital at that point. Which, at that point i will stop with gaming as well. But we'll see how it goes!

I hope they still offer physical but let's be real, the fact they even released a digital console at launch shows the direction the intend to go in. Once its all digital they have a to more control over price and sales (as it'll be impossible to re-sell, obtain pre-owned at cheaper prices) Once internet is easy accessible and "fast" enough to the majority of the world its over for us physical users.

Discs are dying. It's interesting how everyone got upset when they found out that Sony might not include a disc drive in the PS5. Personally I have a few PS4 games on disc, but avoid using them. I like the digital way. Just because I'm lazy to switch the disc. You have all games on demand. And no drive noise. The main issue with digital games is the price. The retail prices are always lower than the digital ones. If not on sale season. And yes, you can buy used games. However, keep in mind that you are not supporting the developer if you buy a used game. Support what you like to keep it for the future. And personally, I'm also too lazy to resell games. And of course highspeed internet is recommended. So what do digital products need to compete with the disc version and satisfy most users? Resell digital games? Unlikely. In fact, the publishers even want to prevent the resale of game discs. And I can understand this. Actually from the view of the publisher / developer it's like a stolen game. Because they get nothing when you play a used game. You just give the money to the person who initially bought the game. It's like only one person bought the game. You should support what you like. ... I just wish that the digitial prices should be more attractive. Sony and Co. has increased the prices of the games in order to get a higher profit. Because it is becoming increasingly difficult to finance the development of games. But I don't think raising prices will automatically increase profits. The other direction can work much better. More sales through lower prices. ... Anyway, I'm still not sure if I should buy the disc version for all possible cases. This is maybe one of the main reasons why people buying the disc one. And of course, since the PS5 is very rare you have to buy what you get. But generally I would buy the digital one. Because I avoid using discs. ... Also the games today requires updates of the same size like the game itself. And some discs are just dummies. This is another + for the digital one. ... About Bluray movies etc. It's may matter. But personally I watch movies via streaming services.

Digital will die way quicker than disc will.. unless its xbox 360 which never deletes games from the store unless they are just straight up delisted. when that server goes down if we are still alive nobody will be playing their digital games they dont really own to begin with..The fact that ps1 games are still being printed by some studios is proof discs will never die until people forget about media all together.. ask yourself this.. did cartridges and sd cards die? Cartrige games are still being sold by certain developers.. most being homebrew but the format is still very alive..

I’m seriously considering getting a PS5 digital edition. I would love to hear your thoughts. I have an Xbox series X that I play a lot of cross platform games (COD, etc) on, so I would only be using my PS5 for Sony exclusives and Sony exclusives only. How many Sony exclusive games would you say I could probably fit on the digital edition… And also, is it possible to get a hard drive for the PS5 just to store games, I know that’s a silly question but I’m just curious. My plan is to eventually get them both starting with the Series S and then a PS5, however i don't know if i want to truly embrace an all digital gaming experience i do like disks but on the Xbox side of things even with the One S I did find myself buying more digitally as compared to physical discs and now with gamepass I see no reason to go back but with playstation i'm in the middle i definitely prefer the PS5 Digital with the symmetrical design looks solid but the opt drive looks out place and tacked on. I could save a initial £100 but that will cost me further in the long run i only would play a few titles mostly PS exclusives and a few 3rd party titles but i think i have to set aside my preference as i can have the option as you said. I'm not too interested in it as of now tbh 2022-23 will be very interesting as game library and availability will be much greater so i'll settle/focus on the Xbox Series S

I actually bought the digital version because I mostly play online games, which means I wouldn't be selling my finished games to other players (or like if I ever did with my PS4 games). The only downside are the exclusives when it comes to prices since they're highly overpriced compared to disc versions (which is just funny to me since ecology amd everything 😂). Games from other developers don't cost that much since they cost almost the same like disc versions or end up pretty quickly in sale in the PS store unline the exclusives, which don't get much of a discount when in sale.

This what I thought about getting Sony PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Console with God of War: Ragnarok Digital Edition Bundle, I sure like the fact that you can store the games on it and not have to worry about having physical disks as they would take up room and can get scratched up from time to time, do digital edition downloadable games be on sale by any means, I have a order on the physical disk drive to go pick up from a Target store and the digital edition on order to pick up from a Walmart store. I am trying to make a decision on which one do I really want, I sure like that the digital edition is a little cheaper than the disc drive PS5.
