In this video we have a Playstation 5 that was brought in for not powering on and only making a beep sound when you press the power button. I go over the process of diagnosing and repairing the issue.

This is the best he just saved my Nintendo switch from imminent destruction. Highly recommended for micro board repairs!!

If I had the same skills as you when you replace those chips I would have a lot of items repaired by now. I did my first CPU replacement and reball. Well, the reball went well after the third time doing it, and once I placed it on the board and heated, I went to bump it to make sure it was in place and attached, missed the chip and wipped out all the capacitors on the top of the chip. The good thing is that I think I had the chip soldered correctly too. So to make a long story short. Most likely the chip was cooked from heating it too many times and I had no capacitors to replace the 6 or so capacitors that are still hiding on my bench somewhere. practice make perfection though. Awesome repair on the PS5 though. clean and quick!

I'am impressed! How did you know it was the chip?

@@SkySky-zr3bt in the past I have tested a Ps5 without the encoder and it gives the same symptoms. Only beeps and does not power on. The lines were short to ground in this case.
