Eh Nintendo is still successful, not like they were buried to the ground. And there were times where Nintendo was selling the most, like Wii and their handhelds, and Switch at this rate will outsell the PS4 as well. At the end of the day, this is why competition is good, and why fanboys wanting opposing companies to do poorly are stupid. I love my ps5 and my Switch, but I don’t think Sony would have started their own system if it wasn’t for this. Certainly would not have grown to the point they are at now. PS and Nintendo both have great charm, one with power and one with flexibility, both with their own great exclusives. You wouldn’t get all of this if these companies weren’t separated into two devices. I also think that’s why many people go PS+Nintendo - you get the full package at a scale they wouldn’t be able to produce as one. And then if you want even more, Xbox/PC is an option. Heck, XCloud has good streaming for majority of people in the US (their biggest player base), and XCloud will become available on Smart TVs in the future. That’s couch gaming, through Xbox, without a console and almost no delay. You just have to pay $15 for the months you want to use it (or use a friend’s account, which makes it free for you!). XCloud can also be played on a tablet/phone, computer, and just about any other smart device like a fridge lol. I haven’t had an Xbox since 360, but I’m going to be using XCloud on my tv in the future for their games when any interest me. And stick with Ps5 and Switch as my mains.

I remember playing Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks, Deception and Armaggedon! Still missing that Krypt from deception and some mini-games like Kombat Chess was very good to play with friends. I wish NetheRЯealm Studios made a remaster of MK Deception, Shaolin Monks, and Armaggeddon for current-gen consoles because I like how it was open world style mortal kombat game, not just an arcade.

I’ve still got my PS3 Super Slim, and honestly don’t mind it. My original fat PS3 broke when I was at Uni. The fact they launched this affordable model the same year was an absolute godsend. Plus, I could just remove the hard drive from my broken PS3 and put it in my new one.

Im turning 21 in a few days and my first system was the ps1 (i was like three when i started playing with my father) and yes we still had a ps1 in 2003 but dang it was great (spyro, etc) and from that we soon moved to ps2, ps3, ps4 (all the portables etc) and now to ps5 recently while we both got older we enjoy our time playing together from time to time in the good ol splitscreen action (we are eagerly awaiting gran turismo 7🥳, our favorite franchise since ps1)

I owned a PS2 slim when that came out..and then moved to the 360 and then the Xbox one...and for the past 2 years I’ve used the Xbox One as a media device almost exclusively now..but I bought the PS5 this year and let me tell you..the PS5 has brought back my enjoyment in gaming that I haven’t felt since the 360 days..I’m so damn happy with this console and how amazing everything plays and looks! And after how well I enjoyed this console,idk if I’ll go back to XBOX.

You also forgot to add that PS3 was the first to have a blu-ray where xbox you had to buy the hd drive ... another is the HDD where you could upgrade the HDD by using a everyday Laptop Sata HDD for both PS3/4 ( my PS4 had 500 but up to 1TB with no issue) and another if you want to upgrade the Xbox HDD you had to get a Xbox HDD

Ps3 slim is my fav console design of all time That thing was sleek, slim and quiet as hell I couldnt hear the fans kicking in even in boot up😅 Although i hated that system and its controller so damn much i didnt bother putting effort in it resulting to one of my best period of gaming on xbox 360 (although the fans were legit jet engine and audible even in pitch silence🤣) Nice video man Bringing up some memories and days of play

The PS3 Super Slim was awesome, it was my first "next gen" console after only having a Wii since 2008. It was finally super affordable. I was in 6th grade at the time when the super slim and PS4 launched. Ps4 kinda stunk in the beginning anyway, I had access to the entire ps3 library while there weren't too many major games at the ps4 launch

Great video, as always. The chart in the video seems off. The PlayStation 3 outsold the Xbox 360, but this chart shows it about 3M units behind. What is particularly interesting about what the corrected chart would look like is three of the top selling four consoles are PlayStations. With the PS4 added into the mix, it's four of the top five. That is very impressive.

If the digital only was the primary focus of ps5 as you claim, why did they produce three times as many disk version PS5s as they did digital versions. Seems pretty clear that the disk version was always going to sell more because the majority of people still want the option to buy physical or digital. Sony never intended for the digital only version to be the primary ps5.

I can’t stand the thought of an all-digital future. I want to always be able to own hard copies of any media I want, be it music on CD, movies and TV episodes on DVD and Blu Ray or games on physicals discs and cards. I was HORRIFIED when I saw that no new Blu Ray players were revealed at this year’s CES, and for the only new Blu Ray players available in my country to be just Sony, Panasonic and LG is worrying. Back in the day, you could buy DVD players from most major electronics companies! Sure, I did (not without first adding them to my iTunes) get rid of most of my CDs this year (some were sold to MusicMagpie, some were sold to Ziffit and what they wouldn’t buy was donated to local charity shops), I even donated my CD of the new McFly album after adding that to my iTunes, but I am still holding onto, and adding to, my DVD and Blu Ray collections to this day! Despite so little in the way of kids TV now being released on DVD in my country, I did make the effort to add all 3 DVDs (so far) of the new Paddington series to my collection! (Bought 2 off Amazon, 1 off a local grocery store) The same goes for games. I am trialling Game Pass on my Xbox Series X but I will still primarily buy games on physical media, that includes my recent purchase of Overcooked! All You Can Eat Edition! I will keep buying physical media no matter what. My parents have told me that although things aren’t looking good for DVD and Blu Ray now, the tables could turn in the future: one time, you couldn’t buy new vinyl record players, but now you can and vinyl accounts for a large percentage of current music sales!

The real sad thing is with the rise of PlayStation marked the downfall of Sega. Sega got killed twice when PS1 destroyed Sega Saturn and the PS2 destroyed Dreamcast.
