many youtubers posted the same kind of video recently... unfortunately i guess PSA really end up damaging their customer's cards sometimes but i read in some comments section that they refund more of what the card is worth when something like this happens

@@PokeDean me 2 u should see some of my 8s look flawless legit 6 8s in a row on my order lol kinda bummed tho i sent a Japanese base set charizard same order and that’s where the 8s stopped very strange considering I originally sent the card to bgs paid for subgrades didn’t get subgrades from bgs like I paid for so I sent it back to bgs 8.5 thought should have been a 9 so I ranted where are my subgrades I paid for the second time next time it came back labeled as Japanese base set blastosie with subgrades graded 5.5 same Japanese base set charizard is now not 8.5 it’s a 5.5 blastosie with suns so I sent back third time comes back as alterd even tho ever time I’ve sent it in case to Beckett so I’m like screw this crack the slab myself sent to PSA with this order came back a 7 wtf no whitening pulled myself out of jap base set pack idk what to do graded card 4 times looks amazing and every time grade has been way different

I noticed a lot of whitening on many of the 8’s. The TTar IR and Magikarp IR are good examples. Looking at the corners and edges on the back.

I think some do but to drop to an 8 seems harsh I’ve seen a lot worse 9’s

Some of the 8's have microdots that they might have counted against the card, combined with slightly off-centered but they should've been more lenient at least for the centering for sure

It’s like rolling the dice with these guys. Ancient mew was my favorite from the video. Sad it got a 5 but I’d still love to have one of those!

I’m brand new to this and have a couple of questions. Your opinion would be very helpful. I want to send in my Shadow Mewtwo Amiibo card to get graded by either PSA or CGC. The thing is it’s sealed in the original plastic it came in. The cards condition is mint. Now my question is should I send it as is (likely with signs of minor finger prints on the plastic), or take it out of the seal and send it out raw (incased carefully in something else). I want really want to go for that perfect 10 grading. What would you do?

I would take it out personally I’m not really a fan of things graded in the seal and they grade the seal not the actual card

Possible market shift forming a bottle neck situation... It could be PSA damage control to the Demands/Saturation backlash of a unique set of circumstances. The last 5 years have been a roller coaster for all....

Defo crack open all the 8s and resubmit them! It was probably 3pm on a Friday and they saw 100 cards to grade..."yeh thats an 8...8...8...9...8...8...8, right off to the pub" lol

One thing with the grading companies is they dont clean the cards at all for you, so if theres dust or a spec of something they grade it as is so i recommend very gently wiping over your cards with a cloth before prepping them to send for grading

Had a couple issues recently myself. Both were upper right corner damage that was not in my pictures of the cards before we mailed them. Always stream the returns. We all love them

Im not ever grading with psa again after my first ever submission was a moonbreon, they graded it a 10 which i knew it would get, under closer inspection they damaged it and didnt realise. It 100% did not have that ding before they had it, broke my heart

My recent sub was all over the place and going of the cert numbers was around the time you sent yours in. Lots of PSA8 that didnt make any sense and then cards i was expecting to be psa6/7 got 8/9's. Some PSA 9's should of been 10's and some 10's should of been 9's. It was a wild return

This was the first time I’ve genuinely been confused with the returns but strange ours were around the same time!

I bet some of those 8s had surface issues. People tend to forget that category. The slightest scratch can bring the grade down.

Damn Dean, PSA was smoking the good S**t when they graded your cards lol..... That is crazy to see the recent sets get so many 8s, I could understand if it is GX Sun & Moon Era cards as it is really tough to nail the centering on those with their borders. The tag team rainbow rares are probably my favorite in this video, especially the Pikachu Zekrom. Great video!

100% you need to crack and resubmit a bunch of those! I'm in a group that subs from Canada and we've had tons of discrepancies this year. We resubmitted 4 6's and they came back 3 10's and a 9. They've also damaged 14 cards this year out of a bit over 600 cards. PSA has been horrible for at least the last year!

I have an entei reverse holo promo from back in the day in a psa 9 and I reckon it deserves a 7 because it has the fattest border on one side which makes no sense too me 😂

Gardevior EX had pretty significant ding on right of the back, along with small mark on top right corner... The Celebi right after looked like centering was a bit off and top had some dings/missing color...🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ You must have been just taking a quick glance at these cards...

That's actually wild how many you have that i would say should be graded higher. I wonder if they are just being less lenient then before. Like, i have some 10's that probably should be 9's. I'm nervous for my return now lol it sucks because its not cheap to grade that many.

With cgc comic submissions I’ve heard about corners being dinged in transport … all those modern having that 8 treatment makes me think a corner was hit during transport and they just seen the pattern and kept hitting you 😳 as I get my first psa sub ready lol deff crack and resub

Also could be on the texture of the card we are only using our lame eyesight not computers etc. I had a pack fresh rainbow Chonker Chu and to me was minty as anything and it was a 9 with a texture issue...Was gutting ;(

If it's an 8 there has to be an imperfection somewhere in the printing of it. It's a factory error, so pack fresh doesnt matter, whether it's a print line, ink dot, holo dot, a smudge or something. It's easy to only look at centering and edge whitening and think something is a 9 or 10. I would say best card was the pikachu zekrom tag team. just steller art.

Here's the problem with PSA and many other grading companies for that matter. They don't detail the grades (sub grades for specific categories). Like with the ancient Mew (which btw is my favorite from this video). You don't even know what to look for. Where is the actual problem that caused the low grade. Regarding re-grading (didn't notice at first that these words are almost identical 😆), go for it. However I think you should consider switching from PSA to some different company.

Anything with a nick is going to be graded more harshly than centering. Would be surprised to see anything with a nick come back a 9. You rainbow umbreon for example was never a 9, check that white mark on the back. Would be cool to crack and send back though...for science!

all take full pics of your cards before sending them off. Might be a lot of extra work but when you see a card that is surely not in the same condition as when you sent it, it may still be good to have the evidence in your back pocket

The Pikachu's from CZ that were 8s, one had marks on left and other on top of the back. The Skeledirge right after had dings on left, right, and to left under the pokeball on back. Just from the quick looks I saw in video... Not sure if you were seeing these dings, but pausing, I saw some...

That was some of the harshest grading I’ve seen. I’ve decided to stop using PSA and go with a grading company that offer the ability to purchase a report. If I don’t agree with the grade at least I will understand why that grade was given

Those grades were extremely harsh. If i were you i would crack open some of the big hitter cards and resubmit. My personal favorite is the arceus, palkia and dialga tag team as thats my favorite generation and my favorite legendary being dialga.

Yeah you got screwed that grader didn't know what he was doing and just shoved half your cards through the line as Instant 8s. In my experience this happens a lot when sending multiple copies of the same card instead of scrutinizing every card as they should they just look at one and shove them all down the line with the same grade. I try not to include doubles in submissions for this reason I'll just do multiple smaller submissions with one copy of each card

Definitely inconsistent on the grading. I know it's objective but the Blastoise and Entei were definitely off centre and they got 10 whilst others that received 8 with much better alignment 🤔

Mate, all day long the charizard ex…. Then id have to say the secret pikachu at the start. Looks to me like who ever was grading then got the huff when they had to look at the same card more than once so they just graded them all the same as the first one they picked up 😂 Just a thought i wouldnt mind sending off a 151 card i have to psa, would be good if you did a video of your processes on how you get your cards gone as im clueless with all this stuff im new to it all.
