Awesome reveal, Joe... I've had similar experiences. I always like to say every order has a "sacrifice" card. Maybe 1/2 of 1% of PSA reveals have 100% of cards graded since Nat Turner took over. So about 15 years ago I sent in a bunch of 1961 Topps baseball in really high grade. These literally came from an attic that have been sitting there for like 50 years. It was a guy that I work with that was retiring. So out of the lot two cards back came back min size requirement? Of course it had to be a Mantle and a Clemente. All the other cards came back 8s or 9s. So I ended up sending them both to Beckett and they both came back 8s. All this to say PSA has been doing this for years. Obviously those cards weren't trimmed. They were original owner cards from when he was 10 years old.

On the 1948-66 exhibits, Yogi had one every year until he retired. But I believe MADE IN THE USA in all caps indicates it was printed in 1948-1950, near the start of Yogi's career. I read about that on Net54 when I was researching my 1948-66 Exhibits Jackie Robinson.

That is great! I don't like PSA, for reasons like what you mentioned. The "Experts of the Hobby" are not so "expert." PSA is now “forcing” collectors to send to SGC and no one realizes this. The parent company is doing really well with PSA and now need a better ROI from their newest acquisition in SGC. PSA wants to be known for modern and SHC for vintage, unless it’s a really big card.

The min size determination really irritates me in regards to vintage. With the lack of technology back then, how can anyone expect perfect cuts 100% of the time.
