Excellent analysis as always. It would be nice to have only one clip playing at a time as it’s not possible to watch two or three simultaneously. Keep up the great work! I’m most grateful for your work!

thank you so much for the reminder to swing fully on the boasts -- I've been trying it out and it has improved my shots already

Thanks amazing to hear Joshua! Truthfully the boast was always a challenging shot for me as well. Swinging through the shot and adjusting my contact point slightly made a world of a difference. I'm glad to hear that you're seeing improvements already. I appreciate your support of the channel. All the best, - Ahad

Love the in depth discussion re: open/flat face, targets for different boasts and movement for the trickle boast. My question to you is: What categorizes the "working" boast? I'm thinking that it is the "one" in the one-two punch you discuss and working to change the pattern. That said, you didn't discuss it too much. Which boast works best as a working boast, or is it dependent upon the circumstance? Thanks! Love the videos - keep them coming!

Great question and reflection! The working boast is typically a 2 wall boast that moves the opponent. If hit well, it applies pressure on your opponent, hopefully forcing a loose ball you can follow up. You are correct in that the working boast is the "one" in the one-two punch combo. That being said, it does depend on the circumstance and the skill level of the player. Higher level players can hit a 3 wall nick attempt, which can also be the "one" shot applying pressure. If in front of your opponent after hitting a good length, the length would be "one", and a two wall attacking boast would be the "two". Hope this helps! - Ahad

as an amature, the boast shot is not something which comes naturally to me. i find that i have to keep mentally telling myself to hit 1 or 2 boast every game; otherwise i wld not be taking advantage of this type of shot. i find the trickle boast the trickiest to execute properly. especially when i am quite far up the court (and so is the opponent) and; if i dont angle the shot wide enough, the opponent will be able to jump on it mid court and put it away with a drive to the back. once again thanks for this clip and great work! it really shows how effective it is for a squash player to win relatively easy points with a well executed boast especially when breaking a pattern.

That's great awareness Nicholas! Thanks for sharing. You've hit the nail on the head re patterns and breaking them, as well as the idea of positional awareness (critical for all boasts, and well identified in the case of the trickle boast). Thanks for your continued support. 🙏🏼 - Ahad

No problem and don’t worry your channel is so so useful!! Practiced the chest facing the wall etc today for my boast and was so great!!

I also experimented with different racket angles etc which was interesting. I found a slightly more open face made it die a lot more and flatter face had more pace

Absolutely! What you discovered with the racquet face holds true with length as well. Hitting flat is great when you want to hit a length through the court (with the intention of fading it in the back corner). Good luck and keep up the solid work! - Ahad

Ahad, technical, is it possible to see it with some rallies so we understand when "not" to go short with the boast. Thank you very nicely made, love your effort!
@ARProformance
@ARProformance 2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. I'll add this to the list Sami. High level, lots of us tend to force a boast from a weak position (under pressure) in the back corners, thinking that we will catch our opponent out of position and win the point. This is a mental lapse (lack of patience and anxiety from being on the back end of a rally). This is one of the most common situations. There are many other situations which I will seek to highlight in a future video. Thanks for the suggestion, - Ahad

Be good to get some key tips on mindfulness in matches. I know you did one on Ramy but are there other examples ?
@ARProformance
@ARProformance 2 жыл бұрын
Ramy's video shows several aspects - affirmations, breath work, movement, gaze etc. There are other players that use specific things - bouncing the ball before serving, wiping hands etc are all tools. I may publish another video on this in the future 👍🏼 Appreciate your support, - Ahad
