Psalm 134 - The LORD Bless You from Zion

Psalm 134 is the last in the series of fifteen psalms titled a Song of Ascents.
It is a call to the priests and Levites of the temple to continue their service of praise, with the answer of a blessing back to the people.

It's great to be part of a number praising God in the middle of the night. Many of us might not be able to sleep because of sickness or in the "night of difficulty, trials and tribulations" but it's truly a sacrifice of praise, that God accepts. I shall in future enjoy praising knowing I'm part of a community praising God in the middle of the night, rather than the only one! Thank you pastor David, praying for you, yes sometimes also in the night!

In its orginal word that was tranlated as "bless", it is "barak" - (baw-rak') - "to kneel, bless" In this Psalm the verse "bless (et) the LORD" means "kneel to LORD". Bless is giving, but the context "from to" determines two different direction. Direction 1, From God to man, it is giving mercy, grace. Direction 2, From man to God, it is giving surrender, kneel.
