In dealing with one of the most difficult situations imaginable, it seems like you men acted in a way that honors the Word of God through and through. Please know that we are praying for you as you continue to navigate these turbulent waters. In doing so, I trust that you will seek to minister to your brother, Dr. Lawson, and to his precious wife, Ann…as he is surely crushed in his spirit for what he has allowed himself to do, while Ann is certainly devastated beyond words. While Steve’s ministry is unquestionably over, his place in the family of God is eternal. So we trust that you will continue to treat him as your brother, even as you must follow through in relieving him of his duties. “Grace, Grace, God’s grace, grace that is greater…”.

Excuse me? The man disqualified himself from ministry. I'm talking as someone who has been immeasurably influenced by Dr. Lawson. He has been a model for ministry and a towering figure in my own thinking. I physically cried when I heard the news. It was absolutely devastating. But they did not "let him go". They removed him from ministry because he disqualified himself from ministry. He no longer meets the Biblical standard for eldership. They didn't say that he was removed from church membership. How on earth would you justify keeping him in ministry? He himself resigned from OnePassion Ministries. So he's in agreement with the steps taken.

What has transpired is biblical church discipline. The elders have done what God requires of them. If you don't like this, then the issue is not with the church.
