What a beautiful Psalm is #23, is so joyous, uplifting and at the same time it gives hope of a better life with our Lord. The way you compared it to a video game is a good way to explain Jesus's lead and help for the younger folk who usually are addicted to certain games. May God Bless you.🙏

Psalm 23 is a favorite and not only at funerals. A reference to GOD being the Good Shepherd can also be found in Ezekiel 34:11-31 and John 10: 11 -18. Thank you.

No, I never read it like you did as a child but it made me laugh to hear you say that! 😂 It’s the type of thing a child might think. Cute. 😊

I like verse 3, that all of it is for His names sake!❤ Thank you sir! I appreciate how you break the scripture down and share your knowledge!

I misunderstood “I shall not want” for the duration of my childhood too. I memorized this Psalm at church camp or at Family Bible Hour close to the time I was able to begin reading, and no one explained to me what that meant, so it stuck in my head that the writer didn’t want the Lord as his shepherd, which I also thought was confusing, ha! I’ve made it a point to explain this to any kids I teach Bible class to if this Psalm is a topic of conversation because I know it’s so popular to memorize, especially at a young age!

My misunderstanding as a child was: "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death" I had thought that I would to have to sometime in life have to really walk through a valley of shadows of death. Oh course until I was old enough to truly know and understand the real meaning of the passage. 😊 🙏 ❤ 🙏

I didn’t think of the I shall not wont that way as a child, but I could see how it could be understood that way. I recall as a kiddo and teenager knowing these scriptures well, but would feel sad cause I saw it as only a way for funerals for the one ones that were deceased. Now my vision is different and see it comfort for all.

Yes, it's a shame when these verses only get read at funerals, especially considering the theme is about God being our shepherd in life.

I THOUGHT THE SAME THING ABOUT "I SHALL NOT WANT" there is a semicolon 😂. The CSB translation I am reading replaces that with "I have what I need." It doesn't sound as pretty but prevents my head from going there too about reading without the semicolon. 😂😂😂 Punctuation does in fact matter!!!

Friendly correction: In Psalm 23: 6, "LORD" is supposed to be all caps.

No, it's supposed to be Yahuah.

Please replace the false titles with his real name. It is time to throw away the poor translation of the Lord.

What is your reason for wanting to return to the Hebrew name?
