Hi guys lead writer here, let me elaborate on some points of the song that aren’t very clear, Patrick was killed through decapitation by squidward. The reason squidward is harmed is because SpongeBob used his last bit of energy to put up a fight at the end of rfd Sandy is NOT corrupted as she runs away, patrick dying as a result Patrick IS corrupted, however his regeneration will play a factor later in the story :) Sandy WILL return. It’s most likely called breakthrough because Patrick thinks that SpongeBob breaks out of the darkness at the end but it was just a trick for Patrick to resist fighting and it gives time for squidward to corrupt patrick but what SpongeBob and squidward don’t know is that starfish can regenerate so Patrick is not dead but he is most likely corrupted
