Nice!! Am I right, you are using the 300 f4 pf with an F 1.4tc and the ftz adapter on a Z6ii?
@RayHennessy3 жыл бұрын
For this particular outing yes that is what I was using. For most things I use the Nikon 500mm f/4 with the FTZ. The 300mmPF + 1.4x TC gets a little slow but it does the job and is so lightweight.

Do you shoot with a filter when in these kinds of sandy and windy conditions. Wondering how you protect your gear, is the lens hood enough. I've been hesitant about shooting on beaches because of this.

I never put filters on any of my lenses, I don't like the loss of quality sometimes and especially when shooting into the sun, which I do often, filters create extra lens flares. As for shooting on the beach I tell a lot of my students to try a clear plastic rain sleeve which can help but I don't use that very often. I just blow and wipe the sand and salt water off when I'm done shooting, the gear does well. Dry sand is rarely an issue and I get my gear covered in sand all the time and it's totally fine.
