I have my original PSE Evolve 31 with what is currently considered the EC cams and tuned with equal 0.062 cam shims top and bottom. Shoots great, smooth draw for its speed, and very accurate. The original aluminum limb bolt cylinders were defective and unlubed from the factory and stripped. The warning sign was very high resistance to draw weight adjustment. I rebuilt with new limb bolts and cylinders (no charge by PSE) applying anti-seize compound and now all is good. It has the original skinnier axles but at 60 lbs max, I am not concerned. Tolerance between the left upper yoke cable and the cam is tight, but there is clearance and zero cable or string wear (factory original strings). It has the free floating yokes so no yoke tuning capability. The new EC2 cam has wider cable tracks for more clearance and more effective yoke tuning. Only other negative of my old bow is the black and red color scheme that looks a little dated (the girl at the shop called it the Batman bow, ha ha ha!). So do you think the new PSE Fortis 33 EC2 would be worth adding to my bow collection? Can't imagine it shooting that much better than my old Evolve 31, but the extra ata length might improve hold stability. The PSE website mentions an anti-torque full-draw system on their new bows but no real details on how they achieved this. Is this real or a marketing gimmick?

the fortis would be atleast worth testing out, if you’re currently shooting the evolve. The evolve was a great bow, and still is but there have been some upgrades to their overall system with this fortis. Now whether or not you think they’re worthy of the upgrade will be up to you when you shoot it. But I definitely think you should atleast give it a shot. If you do, let me know your thoughts. sorry for the delay in response I could have sworn I already responded to you. Apologies

@@thearcherystation9810 What about the new claimed full draw stability system? Real physics or merely marketing hype?

It's good that PSE simplified their line up for 2023. They had too many models with minor variations and it was getting difficult to keep track of which models were the newest.

I agree with that 100% it made it hard to keep up with, and made it hard for the average shop to keep every model in stock. I think they’ll see a bump in sales because of it. But then again I could be wrong 🤷🏻‍♂️

A multi bow chrono test would be perfect. Everyday setup instead of “fluffed factory test”.

My, thoughts exactly! real world draw lengths and arrow lengths, that are more aligned with what real setups are

I hope that if you do a multi bow comparison that you do have a regular hunting peep installed to give a real world comparison to the viewers. I’m not one for paper specs , but would like to see bows tested in the way that they are used for actual shooting.

How is the new grip on the Fortis?It looks like it is thinner than the older rubber grip.I think evolve cam is pse best drawing cam but the E2 cam is a little faster.Did you try out the pse unite yet?
@thearcherystation9810
@thearcherystation9810 Жыл бұрын
yes it’s an entirely new grip, from what their old rubber grips where. And to be honest the grip feels really really good! I agree the versatility, and shootability of the Evolve cam is second to none in their lineup currently, I haven’t got a chance to shoot a Unite yet though.

Does this bow go to 32.5” draw length? Their website says 32.5” then you click on E2 cam specs and only says 32” max.
@thearcherystation9810

Well I just measured one, with the E2 cam, in its longest setting came up a little short of 32”. That’s without any tweaking or tuning that’s just with the cam in it’s longest setting.

Could someone use standard 1/4" shims in place of the spacers. Spacers that go all the way around and elimination of tolerance gaps was a benefit of the old system. Also, can a generic pick tool be used to pull out the spacers in a bow press.
@thearcherystation9810
@thearcherystation9810 Жыл бұрын
I don’t see why you couldn’t use a standard shim in place of the new system, aslong as you kept the tolerances the same. and yea a “L” shaped pick would work, you just may run into it marring the plastic up a bit.

@@thearcherystation9810 I am seeing the EZ220 shim kit with tool being available for $60 and not dealer exclusive and enough shims for multiple bows. Assuming PSE retains this system for at least 10 years, this kit would be a good investment for PSE aficionados.
