True story, I was on a train from the Melbourne CBD where I worked to Heidelberg station about 12kms north of Melbourne back in about 82/83. Cant remember exactly when it was, but I overheard two blokes in the seats behind me telling another bloke that they had just got a record deal. The bloke said to the other two thats cool mate, whats your band called. And he said we are called Psuedo Echo. I thought to myself what a stupid, wanky name for a band. Within a year or so they had a few big hits on the Australian charts so I guess I was very wrong. They weren't a bad live band either as I was dragged along to see them by my sister and my soon to be girlfriend. Turns out they hailed from Greensborough which is about 6 km down the line from my stop. Its funny how these things stick in your mind.

@@stupeters8409 Wouldn't be surprised. They were definitely on the train out of the city heading to Hurstbridge. Someone told me they were from Greensborough. No internet to checks stuff back then so given the wrong mail. I can still remember thinking Pseudo Echo was a stupid name at the time.

Love these guys, past and present. This is one of the best covers ever IMO, Brian Canham never got the credit he deserved for his guitar skills because they were classed as 'pop'. Any Aussie who hasn't seen them in their current form, treat yourself, they are very cool. Thanks for a great reaction too guys, way to start the day!

Saw these guys in concert when I was about 16, they were the support band for the main band I went to see but it started my obsession with them. Great Aussie music, the 80's were the best!!

I saw Pseudo Echo live on their Funky Town Tour absolutely amazing concert. I saw them again about 8 years ago totally awesome still. Aussie Rock at its finest. Check out one of their other songs listening

Heard this cover of Funky Town performed live by Psuedo Echo at Sandstone Point, Queensland in 2019. Sounded just as funky and cool then as it did it 1986! 😊

Pseudo Echo went from super pop to semi rock. Their first release was "Listening". You MUST watch that one! Super poppy with fluffy poodle hair. Then thru to songs like "Don't Go", "Living In a Dream". "Over Tomorrow" is when they went a bit "rock"! They're still performing with Brian Canham on lead vocals and guitar. I saw them live in about 1990 and they were good. Def worth looking into more.
