Rupert, I really enjoyed this lecture! Last week I found myself thinking about Morphic Resonance and how it interfaces with the brain. My contemplation: "If damage to the brain can result in limited cognition, can physical brain damage also limit(restrict) interface with fields of Morphic Resonance?" You helped me look at this question in a new way when you describe field points on a magnet and "mind in the brain" concepts. The brain contains the mind like a computer contains a program; the mind runs consciousness like a an operating system runs a program. The mind is not a gestalt of consciousness, only an interface for consciousness. The mind is not in control of consciousness like a user isn't in control of every operation of the operating system. The purpose of an operating system: manage all processes, programs, drivers, memory, and hardware while giving the user a clean seamless experience which hides most system operations from the user. If the brain is hardware for cognition and the mind an operating system for consciousness; that would make morphic resonance akin to a network attached storage device with protocols designed to automatically connect, synchronize, and run when connections to that field become available. - Conscious observation of self proves that ''Reality is not only stranger than we suppose, but stranger than we can suppose.''

Telepathy is one of our natural abilities, just like sight and hearing. Social conditioning slowly kills off this ability for most people, unless you have one of those classic "spiritual awakenings" as a teenager or young adult and suddenly experience some powerful synchronicities. All skeptics are the most closed off people you will ever meet - they only operate at half power. I think a huge change will come within our lifetime and the dam will burst. Most kids today are far more advanced and aware than what most people realize. Many of them are natural telepaths and just take it for granted, without actually realizing themselves what they are doing. Change is definitely on the way. Thank you Rupert for not giving up in the face of adversity. You will get to have the last laugh for sure :)

I've not seen a conversation between Rupert Sheldrake and Dean Radin, I don't think, but that might be very productive. Dean is another person who is able to put these ideas across with a quiet humour.They both manage to make the noisy uber skeptics look as silly as they actually are....I see this type of skeptic as a sort of nasty, yapping background noise, rather like a crowd of silly, self-important tiny dogs trying to nip at the heels of the theorists, or an unpleasant odour as of a septic tank that just hangs around irritatingly and won't go away..... Both Sheldrake and Radin, and many others, are doing great work to redress the extremely unbalances way modern thought sees man in the Cosmos. We are living through a shift in paradigm. Interesting times ahead!

In a show business agnecy, I worked with a man who did telepathy as a cabaret act. He said its a natural skill which we only lose if we don`t use it. An experiment at Manchester U proved it in dogs in about 2000.Elephants were proved to use it many years ago. Human `scientific` experiments were devoid of the emotional value that make it happen, trying get people to communicate differently-coloured shapes which are of no interest to anyone.

You should listen to the Krishnamurti discussion with scientists (one of the scientists is Rupert). Also, the idea that "the dam will burst" within our lifetime is a deeply Hegelian idea that people have been saying for hundreds of years. Still a nice idea, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

We used to take our cat on trips to stay with family that required forcing the uncooperative cat into a cage for the car journey. The cat would always disappear beforehand. Even when we tried covert tactics it sensed there was a plan afoot to abuse her feline civil rights, force her into a box against her will. Usually it seemed we only succeeded when she gave up resistance and let us capture her. Although she never went in the box without a fight. I had no idea it was so common. I remember it used to baffle us

Great stuff Mr. Sheldrake!! I think from the field of psychology we can possible see a type of "fight or flight" reaction by the "skeptics" because this sort of research seeks to negate their present perception of what reality is and should be. If one is to take another person't reality from them, where exactly does that leave them spiritually and intellectually? They are obviously a slave to "fear" and engage in "fear based" thinking.

I had telephone telepathy recently. I had left contact details on a message board regarding an activity I wanted to be involved in. The message had been there about a year with no response. I got involved in the activity anyway and the day before I thought about the notice I left. Later that day I looked at my phone and there was a text from someone who was replying.

Does anyone here know how a member of the public, with a persisting "psychic" experience in their life, could contact a parapsychological researcher or body of them in order to investigate it? The phenomena in question has no evidence for it within the existing parapsychological publishings, and therefore I'd like to possibly provide an affirmative case for it, alongside gaining a better understanding of it myself. Thank you in advance.

Events in not only every day or week that seem strange. Why do we think there strange ? Do we have another sense besides the normal three to make us think that? Life in itself at times do not fit the norm. Mind ? We are something more than our physical bodies. This may sound off but the norm is considered mainstream, this more than likely is wrong. How do some have senses and memory of past life’s? How do some have some idea of events of the future? Funny about movies produced have shown that future themes in them. We know little of this place we do business.

It's a shame such little progress has been made investigating some of the phenomena Sheldrake was writing about quite some time ago. You'd think even sceptics would want to debunk these questions, theories once and for all with the scientific method. Sceptics used to mock and resist the big bang theory simply because it resembled religious creation doctrines. And yet they're willing to promote unprovable theories such as multiverses. Theoretical number games are treated with religious faith.

May i disagree, it not that cats don´t like vets, it is more like : cats feel their "owners" fear about going to the vet, cats just like any ohter animal feel the vibe that is in "the air" (the field) and they react naturally - fight or flight. they hide and very well ;) . i have no problems on taking my cats to the vet, i have a mind set of no worries about the vet , you might be interested in watching Anna Breytenbach - Animal communicator and telepathy on youtube. Cheers and love to everyone.

I'm generally fairly open to Dr. Sheldrake's ideas. But his "inverted" theory of vision - that just seems completely unnecessary to me. The conventional theory works and is VERY well tested and experimentally validated. Just to make one comment, if I see things by having my eyes "reach out and touch them," why do I see them better if an external light is shining on them? It just doesn't hold together. But - I'm still open to some of the other ideas.

@@3506Dodge yeah that's where i wasn't understanding; rupert wasn't talking about that sort of situation, and i interpreted your comment as if you were thinking he was and how that's not parapsychology. (some sceptics do this; deliberately make it seem like the phenomena being discussed was "normal" all along, and the non-sceptic was just making things up and grasping at nothing. forgive me if that wasn't what you were doing. sometimes things in text can get misinterpreted lol) if i'm understanding correctly now, you were making a comparison of non-parapsychological sensing when someone is there, vs the actual parapsychological examples rupert discussed. it's a good example of how different each situation is and feels from the other.

Do more of these empirical test then,publish,and use the results in these lectures. Then you can prove the points that you are claiming. The dog example is 15 years old. The phone example is not backed up with data. I think Rupert has a valid point, since we all encounter non-normal phenomena, but please use data to proof your hypothesis.

Recognizing the valuable contribution of Sheldrake to the knowledge, it is unfortunate that when referring to the Consciousness let go of the rigor that must be proper of those who call themselves an admirer of the Truth. I mean that although it is not necessary to have an explanation for the Consciousness, it is necessary to begin by making known what you understand by Consciousness when referring to it. With such a procedure, Sheldrake ruins his credibility.
@realcygnus5 жыл бұрын
Dr. Sheldrake, imo you're quite an interesting cat & a stand up/out of the box thinking scientist. However, RE: morphic fields or ANY fields for that matter. They(fields/reality/consciousness/especially PSI etc.) are "best modeled" by a VR(of ANY flavor). Especially an idealistic/probabilistic one such as Tom Campbell's MBT(hint/wink). I''d like to think that you're well aware of this & are just sticking with fields for the time being since its more easily digested/acceptable(publishable) by the guard dogmas/mainstream/status quo. Fields are almost as materialistic as particles. Of course such things will naturally arise when reconstructing reality(this) from more fundamental constituents(information/raw data interpreted by instantiations of Consciousness/BIG C/thE "natural" computer/digital information field/thingy) in ANY case.
