I recently tried out an old hive build again. Early/mid went great. Was able to deal with a neighboring fanpur, dealt with marauders early. However, late game I really felt a hard ceiling and started falling behind.

@@jameshildebrand907 Empire Size comes mostly from Pops, so it can be a bit punishing for Hives in the Lategame. You might want to try out Catalytic Prozessors, its SSS Tier on Hives where you most likely go Genetics. If you turn a conquered Empire into nervestabled tasty Lifestock, you can easily fund a dozen Forgeworlds.

Rlly? It took KomradTruck to convince him and explain why Masterful Crafters was broken, he also slept on Catalytic Processing for years until it was boosted in stratosphere with Galactic Paragons, not mentioning even in this video he is still comparing Pearl Divers to CG producers instead of Technicians. He missed Ascensionist build alltogether and doesn't seem like he was on latest trend of heavy unity builds, that were started on PDX forum. For me as theory crafter he seems to only touch the bare basics of optimization. Definetely would say he stopped improving same time ago in comparison to how much SP "meta" still evolves on PDX forum/reddit.

Sure, but look at the growth from some of those older videos to this one today. That’s impressive, the improvement is real in his analysis and gameplay. When first came across his channel like 4 years ago or so all the vids were highly questionable. But this one is an excellent vid that showcases his improvements as a player, as a theory crafter, as a presenter of information, etc. This kind of growth should be applauded, I think this might be his best video yet and given the trend I expect em to keep getting better, more focused, and even more on point.

I just "recently" (just 100 hours) started playing Stellaris and loved Psionics from day1, tho I always preferred to go covenant-less, because of both lore and feeling that something is up and it would hurt my Empire in the long run. Very interesting to see how much covenant really helps on both Entropy stream and in this video! Thanks for the guide!

.75x has long been the default that many multiplayer games use. Whether that's good or not it has become the default setting for many content creators(and I imagine the same for many other players) since they often participate in those events.

What robguy said. .75 is the standard for competitive multiplayer so that people can finish a whole play through in a reasonable amount of time. It’s the go to standard for most experienced players at this point. Playing on 1.0 settings is really just for RP single player when one doesn’t mind the run taking a whole week.

Been enjoying a clone army origin psionic ascension playthrough. Took meritocracy/parliamentary system with spiritualist, egalitarian, militarist. You can blitz through the traditions and get mind over matter and get the psionic tech from the agenda fairly quickly. Combined with clone ascendant it's pretty insane.

I love playing pscionic spiritualists builds for the flavour when interacting with the shroud. I hope they do a dlc that expands upon each of the ascension paths or maybe a fallen empire dlc that heavily involves the shroud with the spiritualist fallen empire?

I think it'd be really cool if you and Aspec ran a game, each of you play as tall empires forming coalitions with your fan-empires, and either declare a massive war if you two have at-odds empires, or work together against an all 25× crisis

for powered exoskeletons I usually take it and then ban ai workers (if that is what I am going for). I thought the ban blocks techs from this path from spawning, based on my own tests, but taking powered exoskeletons is nice for the resource boost on it's own.

How is he spending all his unity launching those agendas early but somehow still being able to level up his traditions? When I launch an agenda early, it deducts that unity cost from my total unity so if I had 12 months left to unlock a tradition, suddenly it would increase to 18 months or whatever.

Egalitarian, huh? I see where you're going with faction unity and unemployed utopia pops, but those civics taken as a group disfavor every entity except the Eater - you got lucky with the Composer and/or the Zroni. Instead, I would consider this setup: Megacorp, Authoritarian, Fanatic Spiritualist, Fishing Trawlers, Catalytic Processing, with Corporate Hedonism as your third civic. You will make SO MUCH TRADE, especially once you appoint your Shroudwalker Teacher as Chief Marine Officer. With Mercantile traditions (take that first, statecraft can wait even if it means slower agendas and weaker leaders), a quarter of your trade will convert to unity. The energy you generate from trade - and later from branch offices in your vassals - will let you buy any deficiency in consumer goods. And once you reach the Shroud, the Instrument of Desire awaits you with even more trade value. Psionics are still OP either way.

What version are you playing? Not only do your research projects cost less than normal, but that trick with the crystalline sensors doesn't work anymore since it was nerfed.

Hello @MontuPlays, i've got a problem with this build. Every time when i change my gouvernment type (~Minut 25:00), only two of my council seats are refillable. The other ones are locked, locks are grey(not change to "yellow lock")and cannot be unlocked by clicking on the button. Tool-Tip ahows that i have to redo the agenda "Expand the Council"... Is this a bug and i have to restart or is it "repeareable"? Or is it a new feature? @MontuPlays

Very useful economic tech all around, even before anglers & reforming into food alloys. You can sell the food, and it can roll as your very first society tech.

I really really dislike the developers forcing negative traits with such increased frequency. I run a script nearly every occurrence which clears all leaders of negative traits. They really are forced now and even with all appropriate traits, traditions, and whatnot, you will continually get them. Its even sillier when it happens on gestalt leaders

Well visperers of void have I think 35 percent to kill a leader, not so good for leader focused build such as this one, think with instrument you'd get more alloys from reasurce from jobs bonus plus no murder of leaders. Also composer can take out aquatic killing the fun out of it think you can't gene mod that one back as psionic assention

#1 whisperer #2 instrument or composer #3 the war one, forget the name, khorne analogue. The upkeep increases just sucks and is not worth the bonus Some would disagree and put composer #1 though, and whisperer #2 with instrument

The only thing that confuses me is how you had access to Rare Crystals in the first few years of the game. I rewatched the vid a few times and didn't spot anything in the build that should've allowed early access to crystals, unless it's a part of one of the traits that I'm just ignorant of. If someone could explain, I'd appreciate it.

It comes with the origin. The Teachers of the Shroud give you 25 crystals to construct a Shroud Tunnel with, but you aren't forced to build it - you can use the crystals elsewhere.
