I'll actually recommend staying in close range with the enemy as a rod user (should it be force main or force sub) and grab every counter you can get, since the rod WA is VERY generous in terms of and the added benefit of PP recovery can let you never have to worry about pp management. on top of that, elemental bullet can help with elemental downs and it'll boost your dmg by a relatively significant margin. I will say this thou, the only draw back of staying close to your enemy is that you might mess up the rod PB and not hit the weakspot since it has a very weird hit box at point blank range. I'm planning to make a rod/rifle multi for my ra/fo or fo/gu, since the spreadshot and spreadshot quick getaway skill for rifle are essentially free dps and a get out of jail free card and the gu sub gives you atk pp recov and overwhelm. And you can ra/fo to get access to BR and cater yourself to the support role while not completely losing your dps since you are still playing aggressively for the counters. Another amazing thing about the rod/rifle multi is that the foursis series potential gives you another safety net should you fail to counter the enemies' attack, it's just the icing on the cake. you can easily find synergies in these classes and they're imo the most well suited class pair.
@everydere3 жыл бұрын
I agree the WA on Force Rod is ridiculous and does a surprisingly good amount of damage, it really does promote consistently countering! For the Rod PB issue I usually use my Talis PB instead since I find it hits more consistently when tooo close. ALSO! The counter shots are so good for passive pp regen as well since you get some on block and when the shots connect. I really like the rod for dueling since I can go for parries whenever an attack comes my way. When I don't have agro though, I swap to talis for faster attack speed + less cost for those downs. I feel like talis is the key to optimizing force play as well; When you have agro your rod is your best damage output through parries, but when you don't have agro the talis can really shine for elemental downs and more consistent damage. I feel like it's really underrated atm, because not all classes have a tool like that by default. Hunter and fighter lose out if they don't have agro for example because a lot of their sustainability and damage comes from parries.

@lege30183 жыл бұрын
I'm currently using Gunner as subclass. I've found that Talis's weapon action benefits from the offensive PP recovery skills, raising that 2 PP per hit to 2.4 PP vs bosses and 2.8 PP vs mobs in single-target deployment. With a multiclass rod/talis weapon, I almost never need to use long chains of normal attacks as Fo/Gu. That said, I'm with the impression that Techer is overall a better tree for bossing. I've had way too many instances in which my Photon Blast was not charged in time for an UQ's boss Break lately that I'm valuing that extra recharge more.
@everydere3 жыл бұрын
Ooo Thanks for the exact PP Numbers! I was wondering how much Talis' WA pp regen would increase with FoGu. Also I agree, after playing techer, the extra PB generation + access to shifta and deband, makes techer feel like a better bosser (Maybe SEGA will do something for Force like compound techs in the future?)
@lege30183 жыл бұрын
@@everydere I meant Techer in the context of subclass for Force; Fo/Te seems better at UQs than Fo/Gu. As main class, Force should still be a better bossing class simply because Photon Flare is a big boost to Photon Blast and Barta Blot damage (without the Short Charge skill). Better PP regen and having Photon Flare when using PP Convert is also great for burst windows, a.k.a. BREAK time on UQ bosses, when they take amplified damage. As far as I know, Techer doesn't have the same burst capability that Force does for those windows. Note that Photon Flare's +50 max PP is also very useful for Barta Blot, as it gives you room to spam 3 more uncharged Barta. That helps get the most out of these burst windows, and maybe an extra Barta Blot before going back to a more PP efficient rotation.
@everydere3 жыл бұрын
@@lege3018 Ohhhh I see I definitely need to try that. Unfortunately my Photon Flare does have short charge (going to be resetting this soon since I only had it for testing purposes). And yeah, I'm 100% sure Techer doesn't have a similar burst, from my testing Wand was trailing behind for me compared to Rod. And my Rod was beating out my Talis (Focusing on Convergence shot) due to barta blotting. Overall, I REALLY need to try photon flare without short charge cause it's a 120% damage boost. But with shortcharge it dips down to 108% total (I have no clue if my math is off .9x*1.2x = 1.08x) which is a huuge difference when we're focusing on uncharged Bartas into Blot. Thanks for sharing all the insight by the way! EDIT: OH ALMOST FORGOT! What is your opinion on Charged Gifoie with Short Charge? I've been hearing it tossed around in random places, but I haven't really tested it. According to things I've heard, charged GiFoie on a boss under photon flare +short charge beats out other options but it sounds very skeptical since blot adds so much damage.
@lege30183 жыл бұрын
@@everydere Someone took time to calculate the dps from each option in: cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/849159735792893952/853245479957168158/unknown.png DPS/SC stands for Damage Per Second under Short Charge (compared to Photon Flare without the skill). DPP is Damage per PP without accounting for PP recovery (and different players spend varying amount of points in PP Recovery Boost). Gifoie benefits greatly from Short Charge due to its unusually long charge, and is the only option with more than only a few 2% or 5% DPS increase with Short Charge. Compared to a 7-chain Barta Blot, spamming charged Gifoie under SC is a 15.36% increase in DPS. However, it doesn't account for elemental weakness, which is a 1.2 multiplier; if the enemy is vulnerable to ice, Barta Blot is preferable in terms of pure damage. However, SC charged Gifoie spam may still beat Barta Blot in that you benefit from natural PP regen on every charge, which works greatly with PP Conversion, while uncharged Barta spam leaves you starved for PP. The extra DPS that Barta Blot may get from targeting an elemental weakness is usually lost from having to regen PP back afterwards. There are more considerations. That also doesn't account for which technique is better at hitting a given weak point or place marked by a Blight Round. Second, elemental bullet from Rod parries don't benefit from SC, both in the bullet damage itself, and in the free Barta Blot stack applications. Third, SC Gifoie spam is much less demanding on your max PP, which leaves more room for augmenting your gear with other stats; meanwhile, uncharged Barta spam is really demanding on PP, even with Photon Flare's +50 PP, that you may have to sacrifice other desired stats in favor of PP-based augments and equipment. Last, charged Lightning techniques and Zonde-Clad still benefit from Short Charge, making it a useful skill in UQs. At the moment, I consider Short Charge a playstyle choice. If you like SC charged Gifoie spam, doesn't like the PP inefficiency of Barta Blot, doesn't want to gear towards max PP, and/or doesn't want to tie your Photon Flare to Photon Blast usage, you can opt for SC. If you prefer magnifying Photon Blast damage, exploit elemental weaknesses and/or love gearing towards PP, better avoid SC. Or maybe you just really want to be a pyromancer.

That's a interesting setup I haven't tried yet! Can confirm with how physique works on mainclass hunter, the -50% at like 1/5 is really ridiculous and basically a free 30s of damage on any class since you can't be killed + knocked back. Another interesting subclass choice now is Force+Braver since everytime you get knocked down on Braver, you regen 5% of your hp at 1/5 break fall, and I think it caps to 10%? Ironically I don't use the analog mode much but it's really nice to have the option cuz for some games it gives that ganilar control you don't get with a Digital full on or full off button.

@@HitomiOokami Ohhh thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely check to see if the Hori pad is available anywhere (I learned about this one from watching the Live Letter where Yoshi P was demoing it), but if it's not then down the road i might look more towards the Razer. Unless logitech suddenly decides to combine their lightspeed technology with a keypad and do something like a G13 Lightspeed Edition

I'm currently not sure if I should go Force/Ranger or Ranger/Force. Currently, Photon Flare feels pretty underwhelming for it to be the main Class. But the way I plan on playing is to get some elemental downs on the enemy and switch to a Launcher and blast away. Sadly, going RA/FO makes it so that until elemental down I lose 10% damage which can be quite a long time for a relative small window of damage
@everydere3 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's a tough choice, personally for me I've been using RaFo (mainly for Force's PP Convert+PP recovery/gain). I haven't really tried for going for elemental downs that much yet but my playstyle is more centered around PP dumping 24/7 with Rifle+Launcher
@IngaToyo3 жыл бұрын
I'm curious about the Photon Blast, as someone in my alliance had mentioned that I shouldn't be up close to use it. To quote "You shouldn't even be SUPER up CLOSE to the boss, Force should take distance." Although I was pretty much mid range of a downed Nex Aelio using it. Does it somehow affect the amount of damage output if I were "close"?
@everydere3 жыл бұрын
So when you're too close, I notice I actually miss some ticks of damage from some jank in NGS. I think that's what the person in your alliance is referring to

@everydere2 жыл бұрын
OHH you should definitely try it out now! This video was made pre-Retem, and Force was slightly behind the curve by a small margin. BUT as of Retem, Force is ridiculously powerful and imo contender for the strongest class in the game now. The latest NGS headline (3/1/22) showcased Force and Techter both receiving access to Compound Techs which will heavily increase their damage as well! ATM with Retem, the big update is that Rod is wayyy more deadlier and you get 130% more damage when the target is downed. If you wanna see the new Compound Techs + new PAs coming out, here's a link to SEGA's latest headline! kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGXIe6RjrKd3mc0 New PAs/Compound Techs are around the 20min-ish area.

May i know the weapon camo name? and also skill tree build
@everydere3 жыл бұрын
Hi Hi! my weapon camos are called "* Bix Sanjiko" for rod which you can purchase right now, and "* Astrokone" for talis which comes from OG PSO2 player shops. For skill tree build, grab everything, 1/5 PP conversion, rest into PP Recovery Boost. You can ignore Talis skills if you don't want to use them, but I generally took them since I use Talis on TeFo, and this means I can ignore Blot/Clad on TeFo + Talis skills as well. A comment chain here by Lege, did some DPS calculations and showcased that Short Charge photon flare went from a playstyle choice, to basically necessary since it HEAVILY boosted your DPS and gives Force a pretty insane burst rotation. Hope that helps you out!

As i see people posting all these different combos it makes my head spin and i get confused on what to go for, but i wanted to put something out there and see what you guys think. In my mind.. wouldn't main classing techter and subbing force be better in the long run since you could use talis multiweaponed to a rod so you could use the turret and still have access to rod guard? Is there a DPS loss to your spells from using techter? plus you have access to both blots through either tree and Shifta and deband. Downsides i see are no rod bullet and photon flair. Maybe multi weapon talis with launcher in that case? let me know fellow force players opinions as i'm still using my legacy PSO2 gear because i can't decide what to sink my meseta and resources into XD
@dukesmith28873 жыл бұрын
Hello, 20 Fo 18 Te player here. The difference isn't nothing, but definitely not big enough in the current state to worry too much about which to main/sub. From my experience, Force - Rod is simply the highest dmg output if you're focusing on just using techs. If you want to flavor it up with the Talis/Launch MW then I'd say go for it, but objectively speaking it would probably perform under simply using Rod. Shifta/Deband is an argument in itself, but the only time it would really outdo straight rod as well is if you're in a group that needs a shifta/deband.
@everydere3 жыл бұрын
Hi Hi as Duke pointed out, the difference really isn't that massive at the moment especially this early into NGS, so all the combos are pretty much people experimenting to find what they like. Personally for me for example, On FoTe/Gu/Fi I usually focus on a rod+talis combo for Barta Blot+Zonde Clad (Talis for consistent PP recovery). But when I switch to TeFo, my preferred weapon is actually a Talis+Wand with more emphasis on Talis. But for other combos i've seen, it really is down to experimenting at the moment to see what really fits your playstyle. (There's some very interesting combos in the comments)

Does main or sub matter if my goal is elemental downs?
@everydere3 жыл бұрын
Nope you can trigger ele downs with talis+rod+wand as long as you have Fo or Te anywhere in your subclass setups! Talis is my preferred weapon to use for element downing since it also gives me access to the turrets which helps give some more PP management + free damage. Hope that helps you out!
@Pachiku933 жыл бұрын
Quick question: I want to play a mage type character but I've read online that using techter as a main with force as a subclass would make for a better caster than using force as a main class in any combination? What do you think?
@everydere3 жыл бұрын
They fufill different roles tbh, Force has a better burst with photon flare (this will always line up with a burst phase), while Techter IMO does Talis even better but lacks a real burst. There's also a 10% potency difference due to Rod not being Techter's main weapon. So overall, the damage comes out to be -5%ish less on Techter Main (shifta gives 105%), per rod hit while talis would be strong by 5%. This is also not accounting for Burst Phases since Techter doesn't really have a way to burst. Usually I play force as a rod user, while I play TeFo when I want to use talis. Hope that helps you out!

OH do you mean the flare+explosion? Those are from when you fully charge the fire techniques. So basically the way it works is: Every Technique has 2 stages EX: > Uncharged (Fire Ball for foie) > Charged (Fire Explosion at location for foie) > Uncharged (AoE Fire for Gifoie) > Charged (Flare at target location for Gifoie) So basically every PA has a second form that you can access by either charging or uncharging the tech which gives different properties. Yeah I've been maining force in NGS, and I don't know if what I'm doing is right or wrong, simply because I can't find anyone else online that talks about it. For my subclass I basically ruined Tech to maximise elemental damage. Problem is I don't know what to use the rest of the points on. I should probably have gotten the healing field and lightning/freeze thing on Tech instead, and then put more points in pp conversion and/or pp recovery boost, but meh.
@dukesmith28873 жыл бұрын
If you have Techer filled out with all the support spots and still have extra points then you just have extra points. With the specs being so limited at the current time it's bound to happen unless you sub a class like Fighter that has 2 10/10 cost support nodes. If you're talking about extra points in Force tree, then just fill out pp recovery stuff.
@everydere3 жыл бұрын
Yeah as Duke mentioned above, the extra points on Techer are pretty much just extra points that kinda sit there. We're pretty limited on different types of SP usage atm, but if you ever have any regrets about what you invested in, Braver's release in August will definitely provide us with skill reset passes per char (If SEGA chooses to do this again for NGS' life)
