We're back to the trend of people saying that PSO2 NGS is a dying game that you shouldn't play, and I'm here to try and tell you why it isn't.

Honestly the game could use some hardcore content like crazy boss or insane UQ but I guess it will be implemented in time, there is a need for multiple augmentation to be added to make build more diverse. The game is decent content wise way lot more has been added since the opening of NGS, the game pretty much improving albeit slowly.

I played the GameCube phantasy star, universe and little bit of PSO2. This game destroyed itself by removing the dungeon crawling boss fighting formula. They made this huge open world and that’s all there. With time gates open world bosses and endless side quest. We loved fighting bosses with friends on a some what linear progression path. Also they got rid of mags

It seems their working on constricting the open world to roleplaying and decompressing the instance combat loops. Even the past 3 combat sectors work more like open space dungeons rather than open space battles.

I have a love/hate relationship with this game. I actually love the combat but hate the systems that involve the game play loop and loot. If you take this casually it's not so bad but for a grinder like myself I feel like my time is getting wasted. That being said I have alts and this has kept me into the game because I'm levelling sub classes and classes and has taken my focus off the things I dislike about this game. Also I agree with Fashion! I just recently wanted to dress up my alts and found a new way to enjoy the game

Highly disagree with this statement "If the game doesnt take them to fancy restaurants and give them everything they want the game is bad", its more like if a resturant was already great and they decided to change themselves removing everything great about themselves . Like you go to popeyes to get some popeyes chicken but they don't have the chicken no more and changed their brand into selling perveted furry chicken videos,costumes, toys, & pics

I understand the reasons why the vanilla pso2 fans prefer the original pso2 experience, but man I really enjoy what they did with the world and combat in ngs. Flying around the zones is so beautiful and relaxing. The traversal system feels nice. I recently learned of the parry/counter abilities and am looking forward to experimenting with every weapon. I like how on the surface level the combat looks simple, but the parry/counter mechanics allow you to have an extra layer of depth to it.

This game plays like a dream, I stopped to play Sonic Frontiers and then went straight back to NGS, Sonic who supposed to be about gameplay and movement felt like a stiff mess that couldn't interact with it's surroundings and his double jump was so pathetic and short! While in NGS your double jumps are high and you can glide! The running and wall kicking feels amazing too! NGS is where the REAL Sonic Team lives now.

I played the Original PSO2 and got alot of time in the game then NGS was announced so I stepped away and waiting for NGS to come out. Came back took like a week off from work for the launch to play the game. Was really disappointed that the game level cap was level 20.. we had like 1 region and basically no story lol. I stepped away and checked in from time to time and now I feel like it is time to dive back in. I installed it on my Steam Deck and having a good ol time with the game now.

I love the combat in this game as well. There is such a sweet rhythm to it when you get into a good flow of timing all your dodges and utilizing invisibility frames against bosses to maximize damage output. There is a lot to look forward to in NGS this year. We just had thanksgiving, christmas, new years and the upcoming winter events all back to back to back. Shortly after, a new combat zone with new boss, and then a new Falz. A new class coming out after that. And then the ultra beyond this summer. Take your time, folks. Enjoy the journey. Don't burn yourself out.

ARKS ID is AriezPlays. i get what you mean with how much XP some side quests give you. leveling one class is very easy but leveling multiple takes time. also leveling is only half the battle. strengthening your gear is something that takes quite a while. this game hands you some good stuff, but I don't think it hands you everything

I really like how I'm not limited by being a free-to-play player in this game compared to other MMOs out there. I can still get everything, just takes a bit longer than paying players and I only buy things I really want. I agree that the combat is very fun and very satisfying when you can pull off soloing content like the purple battledias especially since the game actually scales enemies to how many players there are. When Blue Protocol comes out, I'm going to try it because of NGS, since this game proved to me that I can play alone and without paying money to have such a nice experience with an MMORPG. Honestly can't wait for future updates to this game, since there'll be more stuff for me to do especially whatever the gunblade class turns out to be!

One of the reason I left PSO2:NGS was mainly because I feel like I was artificially locked in the empty grass plain that is the starting region. However, seeing your video with that volcanic area, I'm interested again.

I think the reason why people constantly debating if pso2ngs is on the verge of dying is because its constantly on the verge of dying. pretty simple right? The devs struggle pretty hard to keep the little players that are left, in the game and never consider any actual positiv changes because it would eliminate income... They might be too afraid or too blind or too proud or whatever, the fact is, they don't change what's bad about the game. especially the restrictios you have if you don't play on premium, like limited storage space, they keep dumping dozens of new capsules and skins and all of that, into the game but don't consider upping the maximum storage space for the free to play players, therefore slowly pressuring them and forcing them into either, keep playing the game for free but with a bitter taste constantly, upgrading on premium, practically forcing them to spend money OR just giving up on ngs... and the thing with the server stability and laggs. They could fix that so easily by letting players always enter the most empty block instead of the most full block, when logging in you know? it would automatically balance the performance of the entire servers and you wouldn't have laggs when entering the game, that would be so nice but apparently no one there ever thought about that simple solution... and its not like you can't just switch blocks if you want to be in one that has a bit more people in it so where's the problem, right?

NGS combat is fun and all but that’s pretty much it, the gameplay loop and grind are almost meaningless because there isn’t much of a progression system yet. Most days I just dress myself up, do a Uq for fun and log off.

Not sure what the playercount looks like these days, but honestly I feel like NGS in NA only suffer the most for the 10 year wait just for PSO2. When we finally got it the game felt really really dated for all the fans that waited since PSU I can't speak on PSO2 NGS much, but I really tried to get into it a few times but the beginning levels aren't fun and I had stopped playing it at level 7. Maybe i'll give it an another chance this year! I really want this game to do well so maybe they did some major changes since I tried at the start.

I love how PSO2 *and NGS by extension of course* has genuinely unique combat for the genre. Every single MMO is either third person *or top down lol* diablo, less engaging Xenoblade Chronicles 1 combat or Xenoblade Chronicles X Mech combat, or just a straight up FPS. PSO2 / PSO2NGS plays like a hybrid of Vanquish and Metal Gear Rising. It’s so awesome and ACTUALLY ENGAGING

I've played pso on Xbox and PSU and I've come and gone with this game but NGS feels different to me and it's fun and challenging even thou I feel that I'm not strong enough to push forward . Only issue / complain I got is people on my ship 1 don't talk very much but other than that it's fun

Fun is subjective. The problem for me personally is the contents fun factor has been attached too much to the drop features. To me the adventure and struggle makes it fun. I literally play a glass tank, but even that's not enough, because the world is built for quick and easy looting. I think the last time I enjoyed new content was during that one quest (thats dead now I think) where you defeat two bosses, and leave the 3rd boss alive to unlock the hidden boss fight. THAT WAS COOL. But once it was over it was just a reward factor. Guess I'm just asking for an endless quest with no timer really and maybe some random elements in it. Kinda why I quit FFXIV honestly with all the repetitiveness.

For my case, it has nothing to do with PSO2NGS, nothing to do with FFXIV, nothing to do with WoW, nothing to do with GW2, and just any online gaming in general . . . . .gaming community has killed and burned me out to enjoy a online game, so I am taking a long break before I decide to invest on a Online game. Moreover, people are f shitty and I do not care about what is not given to me from start because I like earning my stuff & people that complain about that is waste of time and should not be gamers. Over all, anti-social, toxic, online game hater, NO! I am tired of uncooperative players that assume the worst out of you as a player AND you can't really enjoy a online game without having friends to be play with. People who warn others not to play seem to forget that the people trying the game out aren't playing the same experience they have. They're playing what's not effectively a complete MMO with dozens of hours of content already. I think launch PTSD is gonna hurt this game's community for the near future. A big step towards the game experience becoming more positive will inevitably be people having to accept that, yes, the game is good now, and whether it's good now or in 3 months, there is going to innevitably be a lot of backlash from legacy players insisting it still isn't as good as the game with 7 years of content updates that preceeded it.

This is a great philosphy, not just for NGS. I have gotten a lot of flak because of games i play that have fallen from grace so to speak and ive always just done my own thing, If I like what I am doing then who gives a crap what anyone else thinks.

Finally a good video about the game. Several other Content Creators with " Game will Die " Titles, some player saying that Blue Protocol will kill him, but the 2 games are very different. You won't have combat as good as New Genesis in Blue or Tower for example, and much less the insane character customization. The story may be short, but it's just a matter of time to have so much dialogue to the point where you skip it because you don't want to read it all, And I like that there isn't much dialogue, it's less tiring. I do the same as you do, I don't force myself into any content, I just go and play, if I'm in the mood for purple/trinitas/dark falz, I'll even play with PSE Burst. The game is 100% free and you don't have to spend even a single cent on anything to progress. You did daily and weekly, tired for today? you're going to play something else simple, at any time you can do urgent/purple/trinitas/dark falz/pse burst, even urgent quest has a schedule to roll, so nothing prevents you from doing something else and when the time comes to log in to the game. The new Roadmap is good, and a lot of good things coming, we will have an event until April, so every month there will be something to catch with an event, the event is simple, but it works, and believe me PSO2BASE the events were very, very bad!

You know man, take my like. This is the first time I've seen one of your videos and you have a great mindset on making this one. I've played this game since start and I've honestly gone on and off on it since I don't like bonking rocks for an hour when I could be fighting a giant Doll. You're right that a person shouldn't really let someone tell them whether you should play a game or not since fun is pretty subjective. You can just give PSO2 NGS a shot for a few hours and see if it clicks, take a look at everything first then see if it works out. Combat is really amazing, I actually love it and Fashion can go from classy to "How in the world did they make this?!" amazing (See CAST fashion for more info). The grind in my opinion is probably just something that might not be for everyone, especially you Solo Players, having some buddies to play with or finding friends in the game makes a worthwhile experience than you would just playing it on your own with strangers in the Open World or in Matchmaking Queue on Urgent Quests. But PSO2 NGS is genuinely fun you really can't go wrong just from trying it out and it's really all that matters when you're looking for a game to play, will be fun for you or not.

Also, one more reason why NGS is far, FAR from dying... It's literally the #2 most profitable game for SEGA across their entire catalogue according to Sega Sammy, it's not even a golden goose at this point it's a goddamn platinum goose who lays diamond eggs. So there's no way in goddamn hell that SEGA would EVER let one of their literal platinum goose die just like that, especially not after pouring so much goddamn resources and money into making NGS into the product that it is now, just the fact that EVERY SINGLE cosmetics from Base PSO2 carried over to the new game is batshit insane, they really didn't have to do any of this but these crazy MF did it and then some. But yeah, great video overall!

The Character Creator and all the different web weapons and combat get me interested in this game for a year now up until late chapter 5 the story was crap the NPCs are insufferable the VR training rooms a repetitive and lack imagination but it is so much fun to look awesome and kills kill stuff. Every weapon I've used is smooth and different enough from anything else. The combat zones I like the multi weapons and used hybrid builds melee weapon with ranged AOE is always a blast purple triggers get a bit repetitive I would prefer some dungeons with complex bosses but for now the boss fights or entertaining and if it gets boring you just get a new weapon from an event and you learn to use it and be good at it and then you realize why this weapon is awesome the thing that I truly would like is say from My World of Warcraft days I remember places I went I remember going to the molten core I remember the Scarlet monastery I remember taking the Path South booty Bay I hope and GS starts to give us memorable places

The problems are just their update is slow with small contents each, the core game is fun, the boss design is great. let them take time correct their mistake during launch and we will see this game slowly become much better eventually

I have always tell myself when people always complain about lack of content and stuff or most of the people were mad because they feel base pso2 was abandoned then NGS was born my advice is if u feel Ngs isn't for u just leave the game I'm sure u don't only play PSO itself u have other games u surely enjoys out there why bother wasting time attacking the game itself giving all those nasty negative comment or review not as if like they will do what as u please or even bother looking at it like come on asides that people are claiming it's p2w like what cosmetics u can choose to not pay the game and enjoy the game combat system and stuff they offered or in a worse way grind and earn for it

Honestly the mob rush with 8 players in a combat zone is just something that I can really enjoy. Playing and testing out different classes is fun too. I main Force, but have hunter in subclass. Being proficient in every class is one of my goal. Countering is still hard for me. And then we also have phashion. Probably the real end game.

i have 1200 hours in pso2/ngs i am ftp never have i spend a single dollar in this game, and i can do all the content and have the fashion i want ( i play male character so it is cheap for me to get fashion) compare this game to other Korean mmo´s where you have to whale to do endgame i ll say pso its way better that those games at least

Sega cultivated ngs from a game I despised due to a serious lack of content to one I absolutely delight in playing with an immmersive physics engine and plenty of events to partake in with every update. Very impressed with what Sega has implemented into this game lately.

I will directly respond to this video because it is particularly dishonest: ___ For context, I have not been playing PSO2 since launch or consistently (though I would like to) and got it when it was released on PS4/5. That said, I am a long-time fan and player of PS games, including the PSP titles. I have spoken to long-time players and -- in combination with my own experiences -- find this obvious endorsement of the game laughable. ___ To begin, while this game's character creation (CC) has variety, said variety is completely neutralized by this game's predatory cosmetics system. I need all new or F2P players to understand that *there are no in-game cosmetic vendor and ALL cosmetics are locked behind loot PAID boxes or in-game scalpers.* Also, the cosmetic options for male characters are so bad that creating males should be disabled. This is the reason I stopped playing in less than a week. For an entire week I was trying to find appealing clothes for my male character. They were either paywalled or inaccessible. You -- quite literally -- cannot "make a character that you like" unless you like watching hentai all day. ___ Next is this "the game's in a much better place" defense that everyone loves to use. The game is in a "better place" because the devs finally added content when it hit PS4. Said content becomes redundant and boring almost immediately and some of it is progression locked. It's in a "better place" in hindsight. ___ I want to address the bigger issue here before closing and that is "toxic positivity". "Toxic positivity" is when someone tries to hide aggression, deceit or manipulate others under the veil of "optimism" and "kindness". An example would be the XIV community, who pretends to be "positive" and "tolerant" while kicking and reporting people over ideological differences or having standards. This is why "kind" people on the internet are routinely mocked, as it is assumed that they are being dishonest. This video has so much plastic kindness that it is laughable. *PSO2 is an objectively bad game,* it is repetitive, boring and outright ugly in many regards. That said, you CAN enjoy it, as you would enjoy any other bad game -- but this doesn't make it a good game. I have heard nobody say that this game should be "deep", I have never heard this criticism and it is likely a strawman. Also, it is entirely reasonable to criticize this game, this does not mean your expectations are "too high". As far as "fun" goes? People are quitting the game in droves (with the exception of the weebs); clearly it is not fun. It's "fun" to have to grind for hours, wearing some ugly bullshit, with repetitive combat??? ___ This is an honest review of this game: PSO2 is not good, it is predatory and lacks key features that a game of this scale should (and would) have, were the devs not money-hungry ass clowns. That said, there are elements of the game that can make it enjoyable, based on one's taste. You will need to spend money, it is repetitive and you should temper your expectations. While I do not recommend it in its current state, I believe that eventually it will be a good game, just like FFXIV or the Division. This is an honest review

Really glad to have a breath of fresh air. It's not like the game is perfect and all and there isn't even a perfect game that I've known of anyways(in online live service/MMO sense) There is always a reason to play a game and stick with it that is sometimes unexplainable with simple means. Most people prefer to be in the middle while haters or Stans love to classify something two sided all the time.

Beating Tower of Fantasy is not hard at all, that’s such a low bar. The team who handled that game are so goddamn incompetent, they split up multiple regions into multiple servers, and now the game has lost more than 50% of its playerbase, North American servers are a total ghost town with no one playing anything in matchmaking, only Asian regions have a serviceable playerbase.
