It is an open world game where you ignore the dead open world and congregate in the hubs (Cental, Retem, Stia base etc.) or your creative space and matchmake for instance based linear or closed content while waiting for a UQ. Tbh, I only play NGS for the cosplay. I love the combat, but content is depressing for an open world game.

@danteshollowedgrounds it's a online RPG. The current level cap is 25. However keep in mind it's a furry game. But the actual gameplay is solid. The gameplay loop is fun, and you earn cosmetics and weapons in dungeons. It's PC only, But it's got old school graphics. So pretty much any computer can play it.

I recently commented on a video explaining that I believe they're consolidating players because the other ships are inactive. There aren't enough players for queues, let alone enough to complete limited-time quests when others are offline. There's barely a handful of players on other ships, likely not even three to four hundred. The consolidation ensures everyone can participate in matchmaking without issues due to low player counts. However, if you're waiting for players from my ship for activities, you might be waiting a long time. Most just log in to perform emotes in the lobby and nothing else. That's why I've temporarily switched to Final Fantasy 14, but I'll still be around for events and such. Those are my thoughts.

@ElComanche Indeed, the game remains robust, at least on my server. There's a substantial number of players logging in. As I mentioned in my comment, many simply log in to use emojis, and that's pretty much it. However, the game isn't close to dying out. There are still plenty of active players engaging with the content and keeping it vibrant. Additionally, there are three types of players in NGS. I won't delve into those types here because it's quite amusing, but one type includes those who enjoy logging in just to use emojis.

That's exactly why they are consolidating/pushing servers together, because not enough player count and too many servers. Instead of having too many servers and very few on said servers which takes more time to matchmake and cost more money to keep open, it's wiser to minimize the servers and push more customers on fewer servers. As far as PSO2 NGS dying, yes it is. One could actually say it's dead/on life support especially looking at it from a business marketing standpoint. Also considering there are only 7 people in total working on NGS after Sega laid staff members off because of sales loss on earnings quarter on NGS according to the information I heard and saw. Over 96% of customers are gone and they have more of a loss ratio of customer retention then customers gained. As far as stats go there are 1,468 active customers in a 24 hour period on steam, a active daily player count of 2,440 across ALL platforms (Xbox PS etc) with a total player base of 3,669,850. So a active customer base of 2,440 out of 3,669,850 is considered bad in the business sector, that's only 0.012% customers based left, less then half a point. Although the good news is NGS gained a increase 0.01% customer base this month. Enjoy it while it lasts, because eventually EOS will hit NGS.

They shouldn’t have pushed out and ran off most the normal players then and there wouldn’t be a match making issue but can’t get that through the hardcore players and SEGA heads so more players are just going to keep leaving in huge numbers and say get good or skill issues just pushes more players in huge numbers out of NGS and that because every normal player knows it’s not skill issues it’s the fact that the content sucks and we haven’t really got any content since NGS came out to begin with and normal players don’t play games for hard difficulty to begin with we play games for the story’s and great content on the low it’s level possible because we want to enjoy the content with out any annoyings and stress and struggles this stuff ruins the gaming experience for us normal players that’s why most of us players have going back to older games because we don’t have to put up with this crapy junk setup that new games have we don’t have these setups in older games that’s why i being playing EIDER SCROLLS ONLINE more than any new game it’s a reminder of what we lost in the gaming industry for us normal players and ESO is a reminder of why we started played games to begin with games have fallen from grace and forgotten why most players buy and play games to start with just ESO and you can feel it and see it look beyond the fact that it’s a middle evil game and look at how it’s setup and gives and offers most of the normal players and that’s we are playing older games over new games and can find this same feeling and similar experiences in other old games that are older than ESO not having this setup and feel and experience that the older games offer is why new games and modern games are are die in and why some others like NGS are dead and stay dead there stuck in there own bubbles and fantasy like most of the studios in the gaming industry that’s they can’t see why older games are being played more and more than new games older games are getting more and more popular with most players people are tired of most of the new games and the setups and experiences and difficulties and greed that they being pushing and forcing on most players for years to make some groups of players happy and to make high ups happy that don’t play there games and players that don’t ever make up 20% of a game’s player base or community that play games but that’s going to change in the years to come and hardcores and whiles can get on the board or be left behind and forgotten about it will up to them when that day comes but let’s be real the hardcores will stop games or at least most them will when this day comes because they can’t survive without hard difficulty or challenges or 4k because that’s the only reason why they play games

You forgot when T2 Spiral Edge made Hu the most braindead broken class in the game for the whole period of when DFA was relevant (which was pretty long). I personally don't think Hu needs a fix, it has a relatively low skill ceiling (at least for Sword/WL) and thus doesn't need to be touched as it can still outperform Br's and bad Fi's pretty significantly with much less effort

I believe when someone tries to tear down other classes their insecure about their own. In the psychology standpoint, that would line up as well but either way. And no, I used to be a Hunter main from the start of NGS until they added Spiral T2, which I quitted the class shortly after and moved to Bouncer, because it was becoming so braindead strong that it took out all the fun in playing, when you just destroy every content spamming the same skill over and over again with an auto counter built-in as well. Calling me "salty", that I'm a "desirable bystander" when I have my own opinion sounds like projection no? I'll just tell you that I don't desire my Bo to be the same as Hu, I'm saying Hu is fine as they are and don't need a buff because of their low difficulty/skill ceiling, does that make sense to you?

it's crazy how on every other phantasy star game I got excited for a rare or new piece of gear and here I'm just like new gear ok whatever. it just all feels super generic. Even the enemies here don't interest me except for seeing some rappies lol. Sometimes I still get the itch to log in. Probably just a feeling from one of the other games in franchise cause after 10 minutes I'm bored with nothing worth doing. So I block change to base pso2 and play that instead. I did like the sonic event where you ran around the stage collecting coins but pretty much Every time sega comes out with a ""update, I am hoping it will be something to actually make me want to play but never happens. Can't believe we actually got a new UQ not listed on the roadmap. I don't think the Dual Valvilon will be that bad, since it's a chunk of time before the revival. I don't think it'll be super tight, and you'll probably need to be really ignoring the heck out of the HP meters to miss your chance. The Chase LTQ actually seems better as a solo thing to be honest. Was also nice that they actually mentioned story for once. They've been too silent on that for all this time since the roadmap. Line Strike TLDR for Kero, they're adding some ES characters.

18:40 this sounds like the original Iceborne meta in dauntless before they reworked the game. (Which the rework is why most left) But basically the "half life" builds were the meta back then and with Iceborne you would regenerate hp by attacking if you were below half hp as well as granted defense. You still had to play well but the advantages you gained were worth the risk. Feels good. Eclair was not the right approach to this the first time. Hopefully this time it's on point.

As expected, December is a "chill" month (pun intended?), but man, the return of Mascarade in January AND (most likely in February) the time to face Dark Falz Vael will come as well... however again, they go for the Battle of Halpha Lake treatment of having the UQ before the story version, too bad for Vael who will become my new punching bag as a stress relief for around the 1st half of 2025 (as that's the season where work is a very pain in the gut that also becomes a test of keeping my sanity intact as much as I can). Edit: Yeah... having Malignant Dalion as an UQ later on the line was expected, LOL (especially since we already got Aegis and Solus in that regard, is something I saw it coming miles away). Edit 2: About the new UQ... it will be a lot of fun to see how in random groups things will go, however that concept is NOT new in regards of gaming, one example of that has been done in Zelda Ocarina of Time in the Forest Temple with one of the Stalfos battles where you either KO both at the same time or don't delay too much in defeating the 2nd before the one you defeat revives. Edit 3: Really, having a Meri stamp mocking noobsters? sounds fun... yet at the same time it would become annoying way too fast, also I forgot that is a good thing that they are adding the All-Ship function to more stuff like UQs (and expanding Major Target Supression Mission as only Planetcrusher Blitz has that option for now, and is already hard to find players who wants to do them as pretty much most players were done with them after 30 runs for the titles and the weekely SG task that is better to do it as soon as it appears or as soon as you can after mantenance because otherwise you don't find players, I got lucky yesterday that I nailed a 3 player run of Malignant Dalion almost flawlesly... as I got distracted by a message from work at the final phase and got KO'ed, having the only miss in that run, but still, a win is a win, not to mention that this allowed me to test the Steam gameplay recording function, it IS a blessing as I no longer need to rely on my Ps4 or external capture cards for that, having enough space for the recording is something that is always a thing regardless of the method I use to recording). Edit 4: Time to save meseta again for some Melty Blood stuff and upgrades... I guess.

i commend keroppi for staying hopeful amidst these dreary updates.....what is even exciting about a new weapon any more? we almost never see content that needs it. I think i've finally fell out of love with this game : (

@Vex505 I didn't even pay attention to head lines but honestly I just don't like the wasted commit like augments are enough of a nightmare pretty much just Min Maxed my build after being ftp since drop n now It doesnt really mean anything now. I mean tbh it's a problem with augments in general which is why they drop it with the upgrade campaign stuff but idk feels like I got thrown a bone n had it taken away after a week

It was the same way in base pso2 but that's just how mmos work in general. add something stronger you have to grind for. so we cant really blame sega when its a genre issue overall

The biggest issue I have with these last few patches are the solo quests. And they're adding another one next month. I miss actually having something to do with friends or alliance members. We've basically just been running PSE areas which gets old really quick. And yeah, I know one is being added with the two bosses but thats not until the end of next month. 😒
