I want to play so bad, but I can't bring myself to do it. I basically forced myself to do the story stuff to avoid spoilers, but otherwise I haven't touched NGS in a good two weeks :( , because of that mouse and keyboard bug I'm waiting for them to fix. not being able to play using my steam controller has made me hyper aware of what people are doing with their inputs while playing, so I'm noticing that you're using a standard controller, right? if so, that's a lot to think about, while still playing at this level! the way I have my steam control set up is as a radial menu and some toggles and stuff. basically I got it set up so that my fingers don't have to leave the action buttons to do anything, including weapon and palette swaps. it's waaay too complicated to try to describe here, lol, but I literally can't play this game in a way that feels fun to me without it at this point. anyways, great vid! I'm looking forward to seeing how you're able to work the gunslash into wand gameplay. I think it'll be fun if it's really effective. I just wish the class could've been ra/tech because I'd be cutting up for real, lol.

Ive been playiong on regular controllers, specifically XBOX for as long as I can remember so I never explored more of the new controllers like Steam. Curious to learn more, I'll have to look into it. Guntech coming soon... Its pretty basic nothing crazy.

@@Einhander I play on KB and mouse, but spent some time on steam controller configs. I ended up with a config I feel I could use as effectively as KB and mouse now, although I haven't put the time in to learn to use it 24/7 yet. Through chording (mostly copious amounts of 'shift' buttons), it's possible to have access to every sub-palette button without having to use a radial menu (on screen steam menus are broken on PSO2 on Linux so I couldn't use them) on a dedicated button for each one. It's a little strange, and there's a learning curve figuring out how to set it up in steam this way, but seems like it could be fast in practice. I struggled for enough buttons on the steam controller to do this even with two 'shift' buttons, but the steam deck has a few more buttons that should make it easier, I think. Oh, also, the steam input binding menus can work with xbox and playstation controllers too, but you would probably be even more starved for buttons. Having a layer shift button can be powerful though.

Just how high power does your gear have to be to push a solo at all? I'm using some pretty standard budget level 4 augments and my weapon is +60 and full pot but I still can't finish off Nils. Though Doldoris always trips me up too ^^;

What is your weapon and armor? The issue going full pot is that floor potency starts to cut heavily into your damage, especially without a fixa. But a tenebrous now should provide you the ability to clear, it might come down to your attack rotations and when you are using certain attacks.

I have a clean astrean, potency at 78 and floor at 60. Maybe I do need better armor though, I've been using two efitus and and an ajax for my loadouts. But yeahh, in hindsight it probably is that I die too much, but mainly from Doldoris always oneshotting me.. I guess I just need to die less, my bad.. ^^;

@@lunamagnoliid8984 I estimate that each death costs you at least 10 seconds of time and more if you die at key moments. Against Nils and Doldoris I feel like death will cost you at least 20 seconds given their mechanics.
