Can I do this Psoas Release technique alone, by instead going into a bridge exercise on one leg, and then releasing that leg as you do in this video?

Thanks for the comment. I'm assuming you mean a "glute bridge" on one leg? If so, then yes, that would activate the glute and hamstring, therefore inhibit the hip flexors.

@Kaitlyn Evance Yes, pretty much. They can perform a static contraction OR pulse the muscle activity by pressing the heel down repetitively. There are multiple versions that could be done. Most appear to work.

why is the left leg flexed?

To control the pelvis. It assists with maintaining posterior pelvic tilt.
