For someone who cares too much about 16:9 resolution, the RP3+ might be a better option; but for anyone else, it actually looks pretty good!

Been trying to see if anyone has experience comparing this to a modded PS Vita. I’m debating between the two and the only reason I’m hesitating on the Vita is its age. But since it can play its own games/PSP natively and can handle anything below that easily, it’s a tossup. I also like the metal body of the RG405M - decisions decisions

I would stick to the PS Vita if you want to play PSP games. The best handheld is the one it was designed for!

Just so you know the Vita is only good for playing Vita,PSP,PS1 and below (not including N64) which the anbernic can play up to gamecube theres a lot more value in the 405m if you know what youre gonna play i would check if the 405m can run it and if so go for that I have a psp and a vita and a 405m on the way. Tbh Im gonna use the 405m more

@@momotaroux264 no problem! Theres a bunch of videos on the vita playing the n64 but i couldnt get it to work at all which was disappointing. Idk what theyre doing to get it to run n64. But if youre into vita and psp i say go for it if thats all you want. You can also try to get both sometimes a used vita or psp can go for 20-60 dollars

Anyone able to run patapon ok on the 405m? I just cant get rid of bad timing for fever combos no matter what settings i use. It works fine on the 351p.

I honestly expected better performance, not sure how much its due to the emulator not being too optmized. But maybe I can improve their performance with some settings tweaking

I'm not sure but for me, the RP3+ feels like it has slightly more comfortable analog sticks than the RG405M. The RP Flip is the one you need to avoid if you need to use analog sticks alot

Please please, test an android system with snapdragon 800 or so. Not the best snapdragon - mid tier/last gen. Recommend testing using something like a samsung s10.

Gow chains of Olympus is harder to emulate on the first part after you beat the first boss and the sun chariot falls the game becomes more stable and gets better emulation on most devices

Yes and it looks great (I think I'm on X3 resolution), I'm not sure why anyone would stretch it to 4:3

Not sure what settings you were using but your performance is worse on all of your titles than my rg353v. All of these games run flawlessly on my device. You need to tweak your settings

Definitely, PPSPP is one of my favorite emulators out there. Easy to set up, works like a charm, with easy fast-forward/turbo fire buttons

The build quality, the fact that it is an aluminum frame with amazing joysticks (Hall Sensor) is well worth it. You can install gamma OS on it which comes with better drivers that also improves the performance of most games. It goes on sale quite often too. Buy it without an SD card because most of the games, you won't end up playing anyway. Buy your own or use your own Sd card and put the games only you are going to play...on the card. I regret paying the extra 20-30 dollars for the pre-loaded SD card. I play literally 1% of the games they included on the card.

How strange. Killzone runs even at 2x resolution on my Retroid 3+ which has the same chipset.

@@monospacechannel you probably know the answer by now but the Anbernic devices do not have up to date drivers! There's a tangible difference in performance despite having the same chipset.

@@MegaHugoProductions Gamma OS greatly increases the performance and makes certain games that ran poorly on RG 505, run good like Mario Kart Double Dash. If there's an instance where it runs well on Retroid 3+ but ran poorly on RG 405/505 then after flashing Gamma OS they should run the same as they'll both have the same drivers.

@@NyctNyct ah cool, i think in that case im pretty much set on getting the rg405m, the only thing that makes rp3+ more desirable for me is the 16:9 ratio for psp games, but as long as the rg405m can run psp games in 16:9 ratio (idm black bars) then its fine, because it seems a lot more compact and pocketable
