For real… years ago when I was making apps I had them rejected over and over making me miss release dates for clients. Learned the hard way that I would tell my clients “once we get to the point of submitting the app we’re at the mercy of Apple on when it hits the App Store.”

Ios is almost on the level of android for emulation. But they guna need jit since android allows jit. That way more comparisons can be done with android and iphone emulation. Crazy since the sideload option that was already there allows ways to activate jit.

It will not happen since it requires JIT. Apple does not allow devs to use JIT for App Store apps.

Mhmm with jit tho iphones do have possibly more emulation potential than android but I've seen the comparisons of jit on and off for iphone 15 pro and wasn't too impressed it was still studdering with mario kart wii which I'm sure androids don't studder with. Again I did see older videos of iphone 13 pro running gamecube even rogue squadron 2 at full speed so who knows.

For me PPSSPP and Delta is fine for me, very happy I can now have them on my iPhone. My 14 Pro Max runs Killzone Liberation at 4X resolution great! But it really needs a controller. I’ll have to set up the FPS to see how fast it’s running.

I hope in the near future Apple gets more lax with allowing JIT usage, mobile apple devices have insanely good CPUs so if they could clear that hurdle then I think Gamecube and ps2 emulation would be a breeze

It will come, give it time. Apple is going full throttle for gaming on their platforms, and they need to give every kind of tools to devs to port their apps at full potential. Maybe not now, maybe not tomorrow, but i think in some months things will change; afterall now iPhone has to compete with Android in emulation, and lack of JIT will make iPhone appear weak, which isn't something Apple will be happy for.

@@oo--7714 That is not what this is about. Apple is tryin to boost the game creation in their platform aka IOS because they’re main priority is the AR-VR hybrid Apple Vision Pro. In order to capitalize the VR marker share which they’re sayin is the future, they need more developers in their platform and so they’re slowly loosening their restrictions. The literal dream of VR enthusiasts are VRMMO games, and for that to happen Apple needs more experienced developers and the developers need more freedom to create.

The developer really wants to release the Dolphin 🐬 emulator for iOS/iPadOS. But Apple restricts JIT (Just-In-Time) recompiling on their iOS/iPadOS platforms. I understand the reasoning though, as allowing such a thing makes the device unsafe.

If it ain't clunky to you, you probably can get a wired 8 bit do controller and a usb to usb c adapter will let it connect to the iphpne or iPad. Sure it would work cause I do it on my samsung s24 ultra and there's no lag. The controller I mentioned also isn't expensive so it's a better option than telescopic controllers.

It's still out there just not on the play store. And aethersx2 I believe is on m1 and m2 macs running really well even at high res so iphones would do well with it.

The main issue is support. People preach it but apple after a while stops your apps from working that isn't a issue on android but it did happen to my older iPad. Os support may be long but that's cause they expect you throw out your device once that support is done. Android doesn't care about that for the most part although it does happen you can always use older versions etc and that isn't a option with apple computers or phones at the moment.

I compared Silent Hill Shattered Memories on my M1 iPad Pro vs my PSP and the PSP was better 🤨 it even had better dynamic range, the illuminated zones with the flashlight looked so much better on the PSP and the iPad had some weird lines 😬

Please explore the settings in the emulator I’m pretty sure you can improve the graphics… I think the bloom option makes it look better on pppsssppp than on the actual psp.

Maybe Apple should allow more video format and easier file transfer so people want download and watch movies and anime on Apple device. I almost get an Apple for their gorgeous screen until I learn it is pain in the butt to transfer and play popular video format on iPad. Plus that pitiful storages.
