I cannot wait to see what this does. I've been a die hard box user for many years but you're really catching my interest with the low frequency performance that IB delivers. Very good stuff.

I love it when you show what's going on in these cars. I think your father in law and Chris are the only guests that aren't too camera shy? I have a joying 10.1 inch universal head unit in my truck and I absolutely love it. It has an intell processor and the so called surround sound works more like time alignment. I was able to bring my stage height up with it using that feature. The only thing is it only has a couple of volts coming out of head unit but it's ok going directly to dsp from coaxial output. Say you love it steve!

Peter your truly amazing!! Btw what brand RCA cables do you use??.. is there anything in particular you look for when choosing them? Thanks for your help🙋♂️
@pssound97494 жыл бұрын
You have to check if your amps need single ended or differential cables. I use Tchernov Cable for custom, high-end projects and Stinger for most other things.

What an insane build 👍 Anyway Peter, am I understanding it correctly that the midrange speakers on a-pillar are aimed more towards the windscreen mainly for front sounding soundstage while the tweeters are pointed towards the head, just for maintaining clarity at high frequencies? How big a difference would make, if the midrange was pointed with tweeters towards head?
@pssound97494 жыл бұрын
Peter if you cross the mids under beaming point, then it doesn’t matter that much, but we also had to care about the installation rules in competition, so speakers can not stick out more than 4cm from the black dots on the windscreen. Tweeters need to be more on-axis to get the top-end detail. 👌

I noticed the mid up on the dash is pointed at each other. How's that sound? Wouldn't you want that pointed at the listener?
@pssound97494 жыл бұрын
The windscreen works as an acoustic lense in this case, so where you see the visual reflection, that’s pretty much where you hear the sound from too!

I'm new to the whole SQ focused thing, I know you have utilized zapco amps in the past, I was looking at them on amazon and they have a budget priced model studio sq x 4 channel and you were talking about s/n ratio ratings rules of thumb and the zapco has a 90db rating....that's kinda low isn't it? Toros (a massive audio sub brand) rx4 and rx4S a/b "SQ" has a 105db s/n ratio...is it possible for the toro to actually sound better? Or is there a lot more to it, Are cheap zapco models just what it sounds like just a cheap amp with a zapco name tag? I notice focal has some budget priced amps also. And ya I am shooting for SQ and money's tight usally not in same sentence but I'm gonna try n do the best with what I have and can get.
@pssound97494 жыл бұрын
Aaron Waltz the ST-4X SQ sounds great! Yes, the S/N is not looking best, but if you can send high 4V clean signal to it and keep gains down, then it’s absolutely fine. We won 2 place with it in Entry €3000 class at Eurofinals in 2019 and that was the only amp running the whole SQ system. 👌

Peter, I am looking for one advice from you-2 way active front for rock und heavy metal music, midbass with tweeter or midbass with 2 inch full range speaker, what do you think which play better electric guitar music?
@pssound97494 жыл бұрын
N R well, if you want to hear better midrange detail + staging at eye level, then wideband, but if you like it crazy loud too, then widebands can struggle a touch. That’s when i’d suggest to go fully active 3way. 👌🤘🔊🔊🔊

@@pssound9749 Thank you very much for your answer! Now I have Morel tweeter 25mm with 1800Hz/24dB High Pass, 3 way is not a option.

Anyone explain to me whats the difference in sq and sql?
@pssound97494 жыл бұрын
MUHAMMAD ZAID AWAN SQL is sound quality loud. For SQ you may only listen to music upto 100dB with the front-end, which is plenty loud, but then some people want it way louder, where the system doesn’t crash, you can just carry on and turn it upto hairtrick levels or you can listen to it 5-10m away from the car with same quality.
@lifeofsq48004 жыл бұрын
@@pssound9749 THANKS peter got it i was not familiar because i think this statement is made by us i know about sq=sound quality Spl=sound PRESSURE level So i thought sql means= sound quality level i was thinking what's the difference that peter has highlighted the l in word sq(l) because i thought it clearly means same
