Hi JayBratt, great video. Your content is very informative and helpful. I have a question. Do you think a magsafe adapter can be used to connect the PSVR 2 cable to the Ps5? I am very interested in learning what your opinion is about this. The reason I want to use a magnetic adapter is because I am very concerned that the type C connector will eventually break by hanging down from the console or eventually damage the port on the console by frequently being plugging in and unplugging it. My hope is that I can plug a type C extension cable into the PSVR 2 and then plug that extension cable into a magsafe adapter. Please let me know what your thoughts are about this. Thank you

btw, you can apparently use small capsule powerbanks on the controllers and it works great

@@jaybratt I saw it in my recommended tab, they're called the "DESTEK Capsule" (even though there's probably some clones of it) and they were made for the quest 2 but work with the PSVR controllers. Plus they either come with 3300mAh or 5000mAh batteries

A note for the PSVR pole on stand , the hooks go behind , towards console, to hold the cord. you have it actually turned and snapped in opposite. the top hook curved hook faces out to catch and hold the vr2 headset. and it locks stable that way. def mounted the ps5 with the screw to the base.

I got the one similiar to Hastraith stand (except it comes with extra usbc-magnets that are stronger) that mounts the ps5, charges 2 controllers and the psvr hand controllers and holds ps4 on side (not sold on the fan part of it) but love it. charges very fast, auto shuts off when they are charged for each, makes life easier. 41.99 on amazon and was worth it. IF some already have snap in controller chargers then the other for just Psvr2 would be a good choice, if not the full stand would be good. Now we just wait for the firmware fixes for OLED issue, some other issue they said (4 total) to improve psvr2. ) On the full stand I have the charger aspect plugged in by long cable to power strip. the fan part controlled by the ps5. OR can do both with a 5..00 dual adaptor to wall leaving ports on ps5 free, and giving you the additional 2 USB-2 and a USB c additional charging port on front.

I've heard that the magnetic charging connectors are not all the same, some are too weak making it take more effort to make sure the controllers are in the correct position. What I'm looking for is a good controller charging solution and off ear headphones that attach to the headset like some of the Quest 2 ones do.

I have the full stand one and it works great. Not sold on the fan part under ps5, but you screw the ps5 into stand like any base. I had no charger for reg controllers so got that one and it is great.

I wish Sony would get over it and just let us use fucking batteries in controllers. The Quest 2 controllers last what seems like months on batteries. What a great savings on batteries Sony gives us when we have to pay $40 - $50 on a charging station.

I'm torn on this. The Quest 2 batteries last a RIDICULOUS amount of time. But the Quest 1 and Rift S I was swapping them all the time (nearly every play session on my Rift S until I made a magnetic rechargeable option that went through my grips). Contrary to the PSVR 1 those would last over 12 hours straight on one charge (surprising on 1350 mAh). I think the problem here is that the Adaptive Triggers and stronger Haptics drain a lot more battery and if people had to swap AAs every play session they'd get pretty annoyed with that too. Especially people who don't use rechargeable and just buy actual batteries. I'd want to know how long the controllers could last on just normal batteries but I have a feeling it wouldn't be long enough. It's claimed they have a 520 mAh battery so one AA might last 8-16 hours depending on optimization? That's probably more frequent than I'd personally want to change both batteries but other people might find that fine.
