e4m2 is the worst level by far
new route used on twilight descends and a major skip was used on threshold of pain to skip the use of the blue key
little bit of a fuck up on deimos lab, but it only cost a few seconds in an unoptimised 30+ minute run
had a bit of an issue with e1m8 too, bad aim 4Head
played on epsxe, OBS refused to acknowledge that the loading screens exist sometimes, resulting in the video displaying the results screen for longer than usual (i have no clue how to fix it, maybe windowed mode will help)

I only just realised, nearly 30 years after PSX Doom, that someone speedran it. Absolutely loved this game to death but always played it on co-op. That way, the lonely and forlorn atmosphere made you and your friend feel like you were the only people in the universe and you had to watch each other's backs, the only humans in a realm of demons.

@@novictim Nothing. Besides the textures, everything else is the same in the last part.

Listening to the sounds used in this version, I've noticed they are similar if not the same sorts of sounds used in Doom 64

They are the same. PSX Doom used higher quality sound. The music and sounds where changed for various reasons, two of them are atmosphere and horror. Doom 64 made really good use of the new sounds and soundtrack by changing the graphics to compliment the horror aspect of the game. Doom 3 used metal again as its soundtrack but only at the main menu and end credits. While playing, there was barely any music and if there was one (when finding the shotgun for example) it was only to add more suspense. Doom 2016 went 180 by using metal only and reducing the horror back to what it was in the classic Doom games.

psx doom was a base for doom 64. and yeah, sounds are the same. even the main theme has many similarities

29:10 You don't need to do that! You can take the teleport that happens when you walk straight through at 28:57, you can strafejump into the yellow door area. Works for me, although I use PsyDoom so it might be way easier for me. In threshold of pain (again, in PsyDoom) after picking up the red key, I just strafe jump back on the platforms around 30:18 instead of going down around again. Love that blue keycard skip by the way!!!!!!!

this is a very old run, psydoom does make the jump easier depending on the framerate the game is capped to

@@depr4vity963 once I start uploading my runs I will label it PsyDoom not PS1 then Im also planning to build support for automatic splitting into it as it is open source
