This game had such cool little attention to detail. Like how bosses have either the Repliforce or Maverick logo depending on their allegiance, and when X kills Dragoon he doesn't do his victory pose and just teleports out without fanfare after his friend did all that just to fight him. It's wild.

This is best MegaMan X game. Period. The best soundtrack (just listen to that boss select music...!), the dark tone and DEPTH of the storyline, and some of the coolest Mavericks to ever grace the screen. One of my ultimate childhood games.

One of the best longplay I've seen. Awesome job with the video, it looks lossless at 480p! And the runs are excellent. X4 is an awesome game. Too bad Capcom made some of the bosses too easy with them being stunned when hit by the right weapon.

Not all of them are easy. Some can be challenging. Best example is Magma Dragoon, Jet Stingway, Slash Beast, Storm Owl, Colonel, the Major & Sigma phase 2 & 3. But anyways, yeah. X4 is still an fantastic game.

to be fair the "boss gets stunned by their weakness" is a problem that the X series suffers in general I'd preffer if the animations when they're stunned happened but the boss could counter attack or even the animations would have a chance to happen instead of happening all the time, like the boss takes damage from the weakness but it gets stunned sometimes instead of always. but yeah other than that the X games, excluding x6 and x7 are really good, and X1 and X4 are the perfect games

The storyline differs slightly depending on whether the player chooses Mega Man X or Zero. Mega ManX4 takes place in an ambiguous year in the 22nd century (22XX), where humans coexist with intelligent androids called "Reploids". Following the third defeat of Sigma, a second Maverick Hunting group has arisen. The army, called the "Repliforce", is a strict military regime led the giant Reploid General and his second-in-command, figure who plots the Hunter's demise, trying to convince General that the Hunters are dangerous, and will turn on him in an instant. General dismisses the figure, unwilling to betray the Humans.

In my humble opinion ladies and gentlemen, this game is the true champ of the X series (next to the first game of course). It had so much going for it too at the time (and still does today). It was to show what 32 bit sprites could do on the PS1 & Saturn. Gameplay was crystal smooth. For the first time Zero was not only playable in a complete manner (refer to MMX3 for what I mean by that), but he had a entirely different narrative than X, in which it dives a little into his past. The level design was at it's most unique in MM history here. The soundtrack is STELLAR here and in my opinion has never been topped by not only any other MMX game (X5 is a close second though), but I argue it rivals many of, if not all the ones from the classic series too. My only real complaint (and I barely call it that because of the cheese factor) is the voice acting. It is either so bland that it ruins the mood, or it's so bat-shit insane and eccentric that you can't help but laugh LMAO! Sigma & Double in particular they are a riot here! In short, in what great experiences the entire X series gives as a whole from start to finish (or current as you could call it since it technically doesn't have a series ending, it just stopped after X8 & Command Mission), this one I feel shines the brightest despite it having at least 1 very noticeable but easily forgivable flaw. If you haven't played MMX4, you're missing out! Even if you are not a Mega Man fan but you love action platformers, you will still have a ball here (probably more than the others to be honest)! If you're the "on the go" type of person and own a PSVita, you're in luck as you can download this via PSN for $4.99 (MM1-4, MM8, MML1/2, MMX5 & MMX6 are also downloadable btw)! Totally worth it! A true gem from the PS1 & Saturn era! I think the video speaks for itself though. It sure as hell doesn't need me to give it praise ;) Now excuse me, I am, going to go jam out to the soundtrack on my iPhone haha!

theres another way to beat dragoon... jus put the suit on before you get to him and cut thru the bricks at the bottom.. the suit allows you to walk in lava without damage.. Ive always started at dragoon first.
