I remember this game when it was released. I owned it. As a kid, in 1997? it was really damned awesome. Unfortunately, it just didn't age well like some other PS1 games did.

And now you can get the PC version free at MyAbandonware to relive those good times. The only problem is that due to copy protection, it will not work even if you mount it on a virtual drive. There is a small clip for the PC version and comments from some people on how to install the game on a modern Win10 OS, though there are still no solution on the CD protection.

90% of the comments are just hating on this game, calling it a Star Fox 64 ripoff, even though this came first. And besides, this plays more like Rogue Squadron than it does Star Fox. This game ain't even that bad. Also, I like how the game in the description has the year 1997 mentioned in it, but the PS1 version was in '96... Oops.

The Washington D.C. level was, and still is, a living nightmare. I've had this game for over a decade, of not two decades, and yet I still couldn't get past that escort mission where you have to protect the E-3 airliner plane. I've tried with all my might to do everything in my power to prevent the enemies from killing my escort...and failed every single damn time. If that wasn't bad enough, there were times where the E-3 would just collapse right out the sky for no clear reason that I could see, causing almost a full hour that I've spent trying to save my escort to go to waste, enforcing my belief that no matter what you do, the aliens will always tear the E-3 to pieces regardless...because the game hates your ass and it just wants you to fail, and if that happens...game over, except the game gets in your face about it as after the E-3 is destroyed, you will be treated to an in-game cutscene with the mothership firing the Destroyer cannon, nuking the city to the point of no return. Because of this I had no choice but to use the level select cheat to skip the mission because I desperately wanted to see the rest of the game.

Funny how copyrightness played a big role in this game . Many cut scenes from the movie but none single actor nor on the cover Jewel Case nor on the Disc and nor in the game itself . So no Will Smith , Bill Pullman , Jeff Goldblum, .... Even Die Hard on the PSX had the same problem none actors only the voice of Bruce Willis "Yipikayeee" taken from the movie . How greedy actors started to be in the 90's . Nowadays it's different but the actors are more greedy 3 times more than in the 90's .

Notice you didn't see any people at all, even in the movie clip cutscenes. Back in the day, you couldn't have anyone from a movie appear in a video game. Today, you now have the actual actors lend their likenesses and voices to a game adaptation.
