I have this for the Saturn. Such a rad game. Awesome two player as well with a little slow down but still awesome. Glad you guys did a play through.

The music on this is some of the best for a shmup!
@ThomasJeff18985 жыл бұрын
Obviously, since the music is composed by non-other than Hitoshi Sakimoto himself. You may recognize him from Radiant Silvergun and most notably, Final Fantasy Tactics.

@@ThomasJeff1898 don't forget Gradius V! But no wonder this gets me radiant silvergun vibes
@ianswift35216 ай бұрын
@@psifox5102 yeah im glad someone mentions gradius v. you could also have mentioned for excellentr-type final, delta and darius gaiden soundtracks in the same sentence. i think i'm missing something off the top of my head too. EDIT: oh i see you are just mentioning that one composer, not just cinematic-style shmup soundtracks.

How many 32 bit era shmups are there?
@SpearM30646 жыл бұрын
Undoubtedly they were popular for being easy to make. Arcade systems from this time period were modular (in this case, a Sega ST-V) instead of having a custom circuit board for each game, so you could keep the same graphics engine and just change the graphics, music, and story. I count at least 60 for the Sega Saturn alone, and at least that many more for the PSX. (Of course, keep in mind that some titles were released on multiple platforms. This one, for example, was released on both the Saturn and PSX.)

What happened to your guys channel name?
@SpearM30646 жыл бұрын
They changed it. KZbin lets you do that, you know. :) Probably to match the URL of their website, which is "longplays.org" and not "worldoflongplays.org".
@BubbledDEV6 жыл бұрын
I know, but it's kinda stupid to change it from "World of Longplays" to "long plays".

almost more like a capcom arcade game with a cps2 model

Sega ST-V platform, actually. In other words, essentially identical to the Sega Saturn, but with a greater amount of onboard VRAM. (Which is why it's no surprise that the Sega Saturn version of this came out before the PSX version.)

Not as good as the Saturn version (specially the Otokuyo one) with some missing effects and mayor slow down in some parts of the game. Maybe it have some extra stuff to compensate but is not a big deal. Still a good game but not the best experience.

One of the hardest and most unfair shmups ever made, only 5 credits and the game is cheap as hell
@DMC_stg4 жыл бұрын
I suggest that you pick the strong red ship, avoid all power ups (as they increase rank and make bosses more difficult), and always use the lock- on weapon (pinpoint), not the main weapon. It should make the game more fair and enjoyable. :)
