My analysis of the "fight scene": Psy is wearing his Gangam Style outfit when he fights with Suga. I think this is symbolic because people are always comparing the success of Psy v. BTS. Who was better, who had more impact, ect. So the two Western successful kpop artist are going head to head. In the end I believe they come together to represent as a whole and have fun together. Just my two thoughts. I also believe its symbolic that Psy's Gangam Style persona shows up right before Suga. Its portrays Psy as the king of Kpop until Suga (BTS) burst onto the scene like a comet making a decidedly heavy impact. Its like a recap of how their respective careers have intertwined with each other.

@@BetterGreta13 it’s the differnt dialect styles from Korea, some are kinda known for making you sound a bit like a gangster or tough. Jimin and Jungkook are both from Busan and slip into busan satoori style speaking now and then, sometimes on purpose because we love to hear it. Tae and Yoongi have a different satoori style but in this song when he starts rapping Yoongi really plays up that tough style accent to go with his character. BTS has a whole song dedicated to Korean satoori accents Satoori Rap or Pandlogsan (might be spelling it wrong) where they each sing or rap in their regions accents, it’s super brilliant hype song taking something people make fun of you for and being proud of it.

Everything about this was perfect. The range of songs Suga makes blows me away. Evil genius Psy got Suga to not just produce but to feature but star in it too. The interview where he said how much he appreciates and how working with Suga helped him be motivated and excited to finish this album.

I think the point of the pretend fight was to 'kill off' gangnam style Psy. If you look, he's in his gangnam style outfit, He wants to fight modern era kpop and hence he punches Suga, but Suga says, no gangnam style is dead (hence the blood on his face and lying dying in Suga's arms) and long live new style Psy and Kpop and BTS et al. That was my take on it anyway.

I think the fight is comparative to a rebirth for Psy, it's not a coincidence that he's "dying" in his Gangnam Style outfit. Gangnam Style saw success in the West but he as an artist did not, even after ten years it's all people know about him even though he's far more complex as an artist. I don't think anyone in the West really cared at the time what the song was about, it was just seen as a fun bop with a cool dance attached to it, even if in reality it was an extremely political song -- it was only taken at less then a surface level because at the time if a non-English hit got big, no one really bothered to look up what the lyrics meant (something that's now changed due to the rise of BTS). It's an old perception of who Psy is that needed to die so he can be reborn and understood as who he truly is. It reminds me a lot of Daechwita, and I know Jim hasn't seen it yet so I'll be vague, but the dichotomy between Agust D and D2 feels kind of similar, not in the sense of no one cared about the lyrics of Agust D but rather the new version of himself replacing the old.

The blue-suited Psy is the old Psy of 2012 & Gangnam Style. Watch the Gangnam Style music video again & you will see. Not sure why they are fighting the old Psy, but it's like saying goodbye to the old Psy & saying hello to the new Psy. And 2022 is apropos for releasing this new song because it marks exactly the 10th anniversary of Gangnam Style & also maybe hopefully ushering in a new song that might also take off as virally as Gangnam did 10 years ago. Perhaps that was what the metaphoric fighting was about. Also note that BTS had not debuted yet in 2012, but was still in process, so most of the world did not know about them yet.

I (personally) believe the "Gangnam style" Psy (in the blue) vs Suga 'slap battle' represents Psys appreciation for BTS. Right? He's showing that Gangnam Style HIT the west. But ultimately BTS came along and knocked Gangnam Style OUT. They don't just have a song that's big in the west...they THEMSELVES are big in the west. So Suga beats him to a pulp. Psy has never been scared (like a lot of other Korean artists have) of acknowledging BTS as having the impact they have had.

0:25 I never had a problem with Gangnam Style or Psy. It was a fun upbeat song and a satire on the life of gaudy rich people. It was a cringey song but purposely so. And he seems like a cool guy lol. However, I hated one side effect that occurred when Gangnam Style became "popular" in the US. And that was people using it to be racist to Asian people. I remember me and other people being made fun of for it back high school or college lol. I laugh about it now but it wasn't funny back then. That being said, still a fun enjoyable song ^__^
