i feel like one of the worst feelings is when you realize that you and the other person arent compatible but you still like them A LOT. Like they have the same values but other aspects of your lives are incompatible and you cant overlook that

@Sam Elle - Yes, initially a bad feeling, but this is an enlightened growth period when your various thoughts and experiences have come together to confirm a cogent decision, sometimes painful, sometimes happy. Good luck, best wishes for happy times!

It is better to have nobody than to have someone who is half there, or does not want to be there; people who are unhappy with their relationship are more depressed than single people who feel lonely. Never search happiness in others which will make you feel alone, search it in yourself, you will feel happy even if you are left alone

They don't repeat the same mistakes because repeating mistakes are no more considered as mistakes but they do it on purpose because you don't set any boundaries with them...You let them in all the time...Why? Don't you have some self-respect for yourself?? Because apparently if you allow them to use you and treat you like trash...They aren't to be blamed but you are to be blamed! Because you control your life and you need to know when and how to say NO when you have to say NO...You tell me why would you want some trashbag come back into your life all the time? They figured out that you don't have self-respect that's why they don't feel ashamed of treating you like trash...Trust me when i say that you deserve better!

Personally, I will know by the second or third date if I think there this is worth investing the time, effort and emotions into. I don't need any more drama. Don't make it complicated! If all she does is talk about herself, then walk away and let her talk to herself because it's all about her! At 68, I know damn well what is acceptable and what isn't! I do have a high bar because I am a t-bone steak not a chicken breast!

Wow my relationship literally checked all of these! It's sucks when you love and care about someone and don't want to let go, bc in your mind somehow someway you just hope things will fall into place. Sometimes you just have to face the facts though, as hard as it may be. I believe there is someone out there for everyone, just bc you want it to be this person and it's not, you can't lose hope. You are unique and wonderful and the right people who get you will find their way to you when the time is right.

People, there is so much more to relationships than just being in love. That part is easy; we are by our nature designed to love. But, we need more than just love to make a relationship work for the long term. We need a companion that we can rely on to be there for us, someone who shares the same Big Picture goals and wants to SHARE a life with us, but can also function independently and allow us enough room to do the same so we can still both grow as individuals. It's a tall order for a task of 40+ years of life. Sadly, many couples do not make it, and of those who do not, I believe at keast half of them could have if they had only acknowledged the problems they had at the onset and started working to correct them right away, rather than waiting until those problems became monsters that swallowed their families whole. That is the other secret to relationships: you might find yourself in love with someone, but you have ti work to stay there.

I will peacefully disagree with you. Without love being present in a relationship, sharing future goals, sacrifices and empathy cannot occur. And couples who don't do such things to each other are not in love with each other The issue these days is that people only like their partners. They judge each other with their physical look, finances and career. This is not love. Love is seeing what's inside of someone. Not materials

@Gamer tag this happened to me recently. Someone who I was dating for a little over 3 months ended thing because they believed I had trust issues with them when all I really wanted to know is where we stood. How they felt about me and them. It’s been a little over a week now and I just can’t stop replaying our conversations over and over in my head I just don’t understand how someone can erase everything else and just focus on their own reality of things because truth is each and every one of our realities are different. It’s unfair for you to assume how I’m feeling and thinking and after I explain how I’m feeling and thinking you deny the fact. Why ask if you already made up your mind?
@southerncatlady
@southerncatlady 3 жыл бұрын
@@aurielove9177 bless your heart! I'm sorry you went through that! Yes, it's awful when someone can't look at anything but their own reality. It's like they don't trust YOU, when you try to explain what you're thinking and feeling. That's not solely unique to narcissists; lots of people can't understand things they've never experienced or felt and, as a result, they DO make up their minds that they know what the "real deal" is, even before they ask you anything. However, a narcissist does have a unique way of turning the entire situation on you, so they don't have to accept any blame or responsibility for anything, even if you DO have legit negative feelings toward something they're doing... As difficult as I'm sure it must be right now, try to remember that you deserve better!

I’d also add when you can’t go alone to different activities or events with just your significant other. I just ended a long term relationship and every weekend especially during the summer months were filled with events with his friends, family and their significant others. Most of our alone time was sitting in the house and if I wanted to go somewhere his first question would always be “who’s going”? Man, I’m too old for this shit. His idea of a companion just didn’t align with mine.

I disagree with the last point. I’m about to celebrate my 6th wedding anniversary with my husband, and I am pregnant with our 3rd child about to give birth. I love my husband so very deeply and I am in love with him as well- but I was not super attracted to him in the beginning nor did I ever really feel those “butterflies.” My love for him grew over time and it’s super, super solid much more solid and deep than I ever had with men I was super attracted to and infatuated with in my past.

I think the biggest issue that I notice in most relationships, especially unhealthy ones, is the expectation of perfection. Another issue is when one partner surrogates another as a parent. A lot of people assume incompatibility stems from not enjoying the same kind of media or interests, however I often find that it stems from emotional immaturity. A problem even found in most friendships. Especially if the other party has to hold the other's hand. We all have moments when we need help, however it's an altogether different beast when one party expects the other to do things for them on a constant basis.

Keep being supportive of her (you can state your point of view about the relationship so she knows where you stand, but try not to be agressive about it) and being a safe harbour. She's BADLY blind, I bet she has never felt real love before? She really needs someone to talk sense to her head. If she won't listen and keeps blindly going for him then you can't help her, it'll be sadly her problem.. She is blind because of the manipulation, but once she realizes how she's being treated it'll leave deep scars, but you'll learn to set boundaries and have some self-respect once you've experienced mistreatment, not everyone learns from it but hopefully she does..

He started loving k-pop although he didn't like the music he stopped to talk to his friends for me and I felt so guilty I often told him to do what he wants don't be what I want but he just wanted to show his good side As for I didn't change but tbh I got emotionally blackmailed it was like " you don't have to block him but I don't like him" "don't exercise I want to be my cubby bear" "talk to me we can even retake class" I was so Trapped in that relationship . For everyone we were perfect but only I knew we were not right for each other . Now I broke up with him but these signs just reminded me that my first relationship was such a mess

I appreciate non-verbal cues, I really do. But, if someone isn't going to speak their mind, I can't base my attempts to care based on me being an irrational mind reader. Because when it comes to something that seems like it would be mutually nice or pleasurable, I default to thinking that it's wishful thinking on my part. Also, if verbal communication is with held or unequivocal words are used for too long, it feels like manipulation. I try to fight the feeling of distrust, but eventually it will win out if a friend or partner does not bring clarity.

I was friends w/ my husband for 7 years before I realized I had more than just friendship feelings for him. He had had feelings for me the whole time, but respected the fact that I wasn't ready to be more than friends. For 2 yrs we had a wonderful relationship, then he got into a serious big rig accident. The brain damage he suffered affected his whole brain, not just one part. It's been about 18 yrs since that happened, & he recovered so well that most people can't tell he ever had a problem. But the man I married is gone. I still love him very much, but my heart is broken every day because he's still emotionally disconnected from me. I know he still loves me, but he's unable to even listen to how I feel - he can't understand what I'm talking about & he gets mad at himself for that. This situation is tearing me to pieces - we were so good together, brought out the best in each other. Now I feel alone.

After watching this video I realized that me and my ex weren’t on the same vibe anymore. Back in the beginning of our relationship we were very alike, we liked the same things, talked about the same things but as we grew older, our differences started to show. I wanted to study pharmacy and she wanted to study biomedicine, but after a while she started law school and I started to study pharmacy. We used to go out with our friends but because of the pandemic it was just her and I. We started our relationship when she was 16 and I was 17, we ended our relationship after 3 years, I’m now 20 and she’s now 19, we are different people compared to back then. It’s very hard, we were very naive, in 2019 and 2020 we would be mad to each other but we had convo still, but in 2021 things just got way more intense, she didn’t have enough patience, I did things that maybe have caused her to be more insecure, but I tried to right my wrongs, because well… As human that’s what we all try to do, at least that’s what I think. But she didn’t think that way, she couldn’t handle our relationship no more. For the last 4 to 5 months of our relationship it was just me holding things up, I know that because she told me that every night she was going to bed thinking about the things we went through. In august 2021 I broke up with her but I went after her 1 week later, she accepted me again but after that, things weren’t like before. I tried to right my wrongs, as I said. We traveled a lot with her family, with my family, with our friends, but that wasn’t enough, she was already fed up. She broke with me and she was happy, happier than she was with me, she went out with her friends one day after she broke up with me, was already talking to other dudes and I was like: “where did I messed up?”. Now I see that I didn’t do anything horribly wrong, neither her, but our connection was lost, that’s why she left me and now I left her (finally). Anyways, being in a relationship requires a lot of energy, attention and care, if you give someone that but you fell that the other is not giving the same amount of that to you… Don’t wait, they won’t change, they won’t be like they were in the past, if things got colder and your cabin started to fall apart, just grab your coat and go after somewhere else, find another place to stay, or better, build your own house, your own things and after having all that you should go find love again.

Don’t agree with #1 because no one should be expected to innately understand you if you don’t communicate with them properly. You understand yourself best first and foremost. Also kinda shitting on people on the autism spectrum with that one where they might not pick up on social cues as easily. Perhaps #1 should emphasize a willingness to understand and communicate effectively rather than mind reading and unrealistically believing that someone can be perfectly in sync with you and your emotions

Just broke up almost a week now. I think I’ve known we’re not compatible from the start but like the intro of the video mentioned, it could also have been that we just needed to compromise and learned to love each other’s differences. But deep down we know we are just different. Different interests, circle of friends, lifestyle and values. Not to mention I’ve been holding a grudge to a one-time mistake to this day. I thought I could look past that and continue the relationship. I just couldn’t change my values for that person anymore. I’m glad I walked away.

All pertains to me. Being loved blind can really affect your relationship. When you can't be your own true self, this is red flag your relationship won't work. Another incompatibility is being too similar to your partner whether it's their personality, hobbies, or the way you bounce off each other, however this can also apply to your flaws being too similar such as bad living habits, emotional volatility, or even having the same level of immaturity, which can turn into a toxic dynamic where even though the passion burns brightly like a supernova it also burns out and blows up into a blackhole sucking up your sense of self until you and the partner seem indistinguishable when you look at them or yourself in the mirror.

Because trust me...If you decide to tell him right now, then you will end up this relationship in a decent way by being honest with yourself and your own feelings and also because you respect this person and you really want the best for them but if you decide to lie to yourself and pretend you like them when you don't, then this relationship, overtime may get worst...Because of the lack of compatibility, you will have dirty fights and then might end up breaking up in a very toxic and ugly way... So you use your mind, and think which one of them do you prefer? Telling this person honestly and ending things between rach other decently and toxic-free? He's probably more logic-based than emotions-based such as yourself. Likely more introverted as well. Quality time and words of affirmation are likely not his love languages. Communication and compromise are things to try or it won't work.

@@basskitten808. thank you so much for ur advices.We fought really bad last night because he was too busy with his assignments.We started talking from 12 midnight but he was stressed up with me cause I asked him for his time.He urged me to be patient that he would only be busy for this week.I stayed up with him all night to accompany him with his work and slept at 5 am.This weekend. ,we are planning to meet.But somehow I feel like something gonna goes wrong...I hope that he won't cancelling plans in the last min.Thank you so much for ur advices ,I will surely talk to him to figure things out wether he really wants me in his life or just treating me and keeping me to accompany him.I can't stay with a guy that can't even have me in his time and I won't be teaching him how to manage time for me...it feels like I'm lowering my standards again just to be with a guy...He is a very great ,loving man..but it seems like there are differences between us that just can't clicked and it really making me worried...plus ,his parents won't let him befriend with me ...which makes me even frustrated.

@@nurfarzanaabdullah58 I have a similar problem. We are not in an official relationship yet, even though we've been dating for 5 months now. But we've known eachother via FB for almost 3 years, I comforted him for months after he lost his mother.. he's a Capricorn male though, so I know I need a lot of patience due to his cautious and slow-moving energy, he takes things very slow and serious, wanting to get to know a girl fully first, which I appreciate. But we have both said we are in love with eachother.. but how is he in love or getting to know me when we don't see eachother more than once a month? It were 3 weeks, 3 weeks and then 5 weeks and now after 1 week he ignored the day I asked to see him.. I don't understand. He is so good to me, so kind and sweet, patient and loving, said this song "die for you" made him think of how he feels for me. There I saw that passion. But 5 weeks apart is ridiculous when it takes just a 40 minutes drive to see eachother! I feel uncared for.. where is the warm burning fire where he says he can't stand being apart from me? I'm freezing to death! I want this kind man.. I finally left behind my narcissist ex and found a good man, only to have my emotional needs unmet.. I would be happy if it were "only" every 2 weeks that we saw eachother honestly, and feel pissed off when other people complain "it's been a whole week" oh what I wouldn't give for just one week apart.. I don't know what to do. We must simply be incompatible and I shouldn't take that personally. This hurts so much. I'm sorry for your pain too, that your guy has to hide you from his family? That must feel horrible... what do we do with these men?

@@basskitten808. The thing is, I personally have Social Phobia though and he doesn't, I'm also more introverted than him. But I would agree with your observation that he might be more logically based whereas I am more emotionally, definitely. However, as beautiful and true as your advice is to communicate; I did. I told him it's unacceptable to me that more than 2 weeks passes between us meeting, and he understood me and what I feel. But it looks like it will head passed 2 weeks yet again. He is crossing the boundary I set... should I give up? I feel like I have... thank you both for your comments though.

Me and my boyfriend are incompatible in many ways but we're both ok with that and we've found ways to make it work because we really love each other and we want each other VERY much. It's not always easy but it works for us😌❤ Being compatible is not necessary for a fulfilling relationship tbh

Tbh I really needed to read this,I feel like people make it seem as if someone needs to be compatible with you for it to work. So your comment was the only one that really stood out to me.

My boyfriend and I started out as incompatible; perhaps even bordering on toxic a little.... we've been together for 8 years now and from my perspective at least, I'd say that determination and persistent really does go a long way. That, plus some individual therapy on my end.... it's not easy to work on yourself while also trying to commit yourself to a life-long partnership, but it's worth it. ❤️

Sad part is when you would mess up at times, and she would be so forgiving. But when she would not be perfect, you saw a reason to lash out. Glad I came across the channel, Lord knows I'm working on myself... hope I can be in her life one day

As always I feel like these things shouldn't be taken too literal, and you should consider factors to your own particular situation at hands. Especially the "you've never met their friends or family" thing. Not everyone has a good relationship with their family, some people wish to avoid their family altogether. They're not "not" introducing you due to something about you, but because they sincerely do not want to be in a family situation that might have been toxic, which should be their right. Same for friendships, not everyone has a whole gang of close friends. Particularly later in life when everyone works a job, people move away etc. It might be impossible for your lover to see their friends anymore, let alone introduce you to them. Several factors in life might thus have an influence on how your relationship goes, but you shouldn't let that ruin your relationship.

The funny thing is, when it came to social relationships outside of my ex-partner and I, it was always his friends and family we spent time with. But when it came to me either spending time with my friends and family and trying to include him in get togethers with them, he was often apprehensive and stubborn when it came to doing anything. Always saying "Maybe" or "I don't know". And as far as I could tell, no one I know is mean or offensive. Everyone is warm and welcoming and fun. So when my ex and I were together, we would always just be alone or going to see his family, and I would see my family sometimes, and my friends hardly at all. Is that supposed to be manipulative or possessive behavior?
