Very interesting history. Imported by Malcom Bricklin (of Bricklin SV-1 fame) who was kind of a sleazy get-rich-quick kinda guy. Neat story 👍

Dear John Alec, I took a look at the interior- there wasn’t a CD player which was disappointing… Anyway, insipid jokes aside, I always look forward to your videos- thanks for another! Btw- I took a call from a fellow today who bid me “be well” as he hung up. I thought of you of course!! Regards, Z

Thanks Zinzan! Haha yeah I just learned this had a 25hp engine. No wonder it didn't sell here in the muscle car 60s! Cheers buddy

Very nice choice John. You know,I see a lot of VW beetle in that car and a little 911. Have fun. Happy New Year 🎉

Sorry about that cracked phone screen, i know thats normally not how the ManU home page looks 😜. I do like your paint thought. Way back in the day, remember seeing the Subaru plum (70's used car) was pretty close to the SG-black and faded pretty quickly under the Florida sun to the SG-grey. Was a beautiful color back then. Really would have thought the Liquid Lava would have been closer to the original in my memory. Fun times, dad always getting his Vega wagon worked on, and mechanic had the Subaru in the back of the shop in corner. Always thought it was a rejected VW or something. Euro/German designs of the day LoL.

HAHA! I had not heard of those old Subarus until I was looking for something unique. The pic didn't do the shifts justice I need to varnish the spoons to get a better sense. Sound like special memories there Crazy. We always had US cars growing up. Take care buddy!

@@johnalecsscalemodeling engine the same but hp went up from 25 to 36hp :) it was quite good in its class though, being a flat engine it was called the Lady bug as in a small VW beetle
