Idk what it was. I saw it. After I lost my only son, an oval shaped orb came very fast towards me in a dark room. I winced and I guess it went thru me. The same son, a few yrs earlier, had an orb on his shoulder in a Christmas picture. I see lots of things and dream things that come true, all the time. Saw my 1st ghost when I was 9. Saw John Edward years ago in Anchorage, Ak. in a very small crowd. I had the perfect “me too” & I kept raising my hand but he acted like he was in a hurry to get it over with & he ignored me. Terrible. My dad tried really hard to come thru, but he wouldn’t let him. A waste of money. What a disappointment

On shows like Crossing Over, an audience full of people watches as John Edward (or, as South Park labeled him, The Biggest Douche in the Universe) claims to be in contact with spirits from the other side. In what seems like a fairly short amount of time, he's able to find someone who believes he has actually managed to communicate with their dead relatives. It's also extremely easy to pull off. All you have to do is keep your reading as vague as possible. Notice how these guys always say something like "I'm getting a male figure, someone with the name Bob or Ben, something along those lines." In an audience, it won't be hard to find someone who knew a guy named Bob who died. Or, perhaps, the psychic will say, "I'm seeing someone, an older relative, they had a heart problem." When heart disease is the leading cause of death worldwide, that psychic is about as magical as WedMD. Showing off your psychic skills to a room full of people? Just make sure you stick to vague statements. Focus on common relationships, physical traits, or causes of death. Very quickly, you'll get someone to spot something you say that fits. As soon as you appear to be right once, people will be more likely to buy in throughout the process.

I've heard that the long island medium sends "spies" into the audience to engage them before a reading. She doesn't give the detail that John does, however. That said, if that's what John did, research his audience before hand, he'd have to be highly, highly intelligent and have an excellent memory to give a reading as seamless as he does. It would be akin to a live performance at that point. That would be extremely difficult. I'd love to see an experiment where someone attempts to absolutely fake a performance of this caliber.
