Can I just say that I’m so grateful that you make sure the lighting of each video is very low-key. I like watching asmr but it bothers me sometimes if there’s a lot of light and I’m trying to sleep, and these videos are the easiest on my eyes I’ve ever seen in this genre.

i usually have to skip out or just listen only to ASMR if the colours are too... awake/ alive. and i really enjoy the visuals a lot of these videos provide, stuff like reiki is surprisingly relaxing. however relaxing and allowing me to drift to sleep are two different things

"...and ultimately, it doesn't matter what people think, as long as you're happy, as long as you're kind, and as long as you're living your best life, it doesn't matter." Those words hit me right between the eyes and ricocheted around the mediastinum. True as steel, and true for more than just me, Sir. 🤗🤗🤗

This knocked me out pretty well. A really nice “traditional ASMR” medical roleplay piece, with a twist. 😊 The unintentional ear cupping was a nice feature as well! Good night! 😴
@glasgowginclub19372 жыл бұрын
It’s come to the point now that no triggers send me to sleep in fact they are too intense. The thing that always works is Jim’s voice. I need more traditional role plays without the 100 “hellos” and finger waving

The tone of your voice is more relaxing than Morgan Freeman's. Thank you for doing what you do. I am a recovering addict and left an abusive relationship recently. Your calm voice transports me to a safe place of deep meditation and self reflection. Thank you, from the bottom of my stone cold heart.

This video is one of my favourites and I wanted you to know how helpful these videos are for people who have difficulty with physical intimacy. The virtual contact is a way to experience physical closeness in a way that feels safer, using one’s imagination to heal. Thank you for sharing your imagination to help some of us experience a level of intimacy we might otherwise go without most of the time, at least for me, I’m learning to reconnect with my body, and not dissociate from pleasurable bodily sensations as much as I used to. It really helps.

Had to come back for a second time to comment because I fell asleep after the first watch. As a chronic insomniac, I feel like that says a lot for the quality of this video. There you go, readers of random commenters, if you can’t sleep and you want to, watch this vid! 10/10 recommended by a perpetually tired and somewhat cranky old biddy.

Why does this ASMR psychic surgery video work? Does Jim plan it out first? Does he know exactly what he is going to do? It's seemingly random and improvised. It has all the ingredients for old school ASMR - personal attention, eye contact, positive statements, hand movements, and classic auditory triggers. It's like watching a musician or actor improvise. Dare I say it's like watching a shaman or ceremonial magician perform a personalized ritual on the spot. He utilizes elements of energy healing and ritual magic together. That's why this video works. I appreciate the disclaimer that psychic surgery isn't real and discussion of the placebo effect. That's generally the effect of rituals of all kinds on the human body and mind. We need to feel cared for and looked after and know another human is invested in our wellbeing. We experience positive regard through ritual - be it religious, ceremonial magic, energy healing, or shamanic rituals. This is facilitates healing. The placebo effect works. Previously, I've commented on other videos in which he uses breathing techniques. It's well known that deep breathing induces relaxation. IMO, this correlates to the polyvagal nerve theory and how humans can coregulate their nervous systems. Breathing along with another human calms an overactive nervous system. As with all Jim's spa and medical roleplays, he asks for consent before moving in close or touching the person and explains what he's going to do first. Wouldn't it be nice if real world nurses and doctors did the same? Should I be embarrassed how many times I've watched this psychic surgery ASMR video? Without oversharing, it has helped me get through difficult times. I'm grateful for Jim's art and hard work. I don't have money to support him, but I try to show support with thoughtful responses. Thank you.

I think the surgery went too well since I seemed to have forgotten to comment here 😅😅 I enjoyed this video immensely. I use counting as my method to induce a lucid dream state, so any time you count higher than four, my eyelids start dropping. Maybe I could convince you to do a video where all you do is count. Definitely, relaxing and I love how you always ask permission before entering personal space. Of course, with permission, lots of hugs to you 🤗🤗🤗
