Psycho Killer - The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain - BBC Proms

This is the Orchestra's version of Talking Heads' Psycho Killer, performed at the Royal Albert Hall.
On Tuesday 18th August 2009, with every seat and all standing room occupied, the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain played to a sold-out Royal Albert Hall in London, with over 6000 audience members, and well over 1000 of them bringing ukuleles to join in with Beethoven's "Ode to Joy".
This clip is taken from their DVD "Prom Night", The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain Live at the Royal Albert Hall BBC Proms 2009, made from filming on the night.

I think this is one of my all time favourite Ukes' tracks - gutted that with Will, singing lead here, and two of the others (Dave and Richie) retiring and the passing of Kitty some years back, we're unlikely to hear this performed by them again. Still, the Ukes evolve and continue to produce excellent new versions of songs. Long may that continue!

I love these guys (and gals). I wish I could get a copy of Jonty singing the full song "Hotel California" instead of just the few moments on the Handel's Mix. But in this one Will just blows me away. I have no trouble believing I'm watching the actual "Psycho Killer"; he puts so much emotion into it. What a blend of a horrifying story and such soft beautiful music! I have bought 3 of their DVDs after being introduced to them online about ten years ago. They're still my favorite musicians.
