Season 7, Episode 3, "Lassie Jerky": In the forest near Santa Barbara, Shawn and Gus join two college students with a documentary about Bigfoot. After running away from what is apparently a hairy beast, Gus accidentally falls into a pit and discovers three dead bodies, turning their excursion into a triple homicide case which brings Lassiter and Juliet into the mix. After Lassiter is hurt and taken away, they all realize that whoever killed those three people is determined to protect themselves at all costs.

Psych Synopsis: "PSYCH" is a quick-witted dramedy about a young police consultant Shawn Spencer (James Roday Rodriguez, “The Dukes of Hazzard”) who solves crimes with powers of observation so acute that he’s convinced Santa Barbara PD detectives into thinking he's psychic. Raised in Santa Barbara by a family of cops, Shawn possesses uncanny powers of observation honed by his police officer father, Henry, who drilled young Shawn to note even the smallest of details from his surroundings as a way of grooming him for his inevitable career in the family business. The comedy and the found footage cinematography do cancel out a lot of tension. The camera is usually carried by a "straight man" with strong reactions to provoke the audience and juxtapose responses from other characters, showing them how smart/dumb one can be. Clever cuts and angles can also create horror/revelations. But the episode has the two cameras carried by the series protagonist and a delusional myth chaser. Their unorthodox reactions to threats downplay the experience we perceive through their lens. It's an example of found footage done wrong, but Jules is undeniably badass.
