Great video! Consumables are probably. Got a story from last night for you. Me and my partner got pinned down in Bolden. I died and got burned out. My partner found himself pinned next to a cart and a wall, dude tossed a dynamite in, and I was like well your dead, but my partner charged out, around the corner and levered the enemy to death. He then yells in discord, "He didn't know I was a Psychoghost follower! Mike always says charge when dynamited." I laughed for 5 minutes. Good times. Thanks for all the great videos Mike!

I’m glad someone finally says it, you can hit people with slugs and not kill them, and if you used penny or buck it would’ve killed them. I heard everyone hyping up slugs and the first few games I got like over a dozen hit markers with slugs. I was losing my shit, switched back to penny and stopped getting hit markers.

Pennies also widen your spread to have a closer match the reticle. It's helpful for people without the greatest aim to be more consistent with shotguns because they miss and graze less.

i personally find it really difficult to play any one shot guns with the reload bug like the martini or the romaro. its really irritating when you reload and it doesnt count it and you die. but it is really satisfying when you kill them though. love the content mike!

I prefer going for a poison Pax, though. I really don’t like the dusters, and I love the sound when you fan it at close range.

"why don't they fuck off, what did I do?" Just yesterday me and a friend fought the Bounty team at Stillwater Bend. My friend was killed killed and I was low on supplies. Extract was at Catfish, I saw them run towards it, followed shortly by another player. Fighting ensues over yonder, so I decide to go for the other Bounty alone, get a token and revive my friend. I go and get the Bounty while still hearing fighting going on. I get back, and somehow, for some reason this Bounty team is STILL waiting on me at Stillwater again, camping my friends body xD So yeah, Mike, people are really that obsessed with you sometimes :P

I have always loved the Romero Talon with Penny shot. It still one-taps players and though it has little penetration, having buckshot or slugs as the other ammotype helps that. Or just a good secondary. I like the Scottfield Spitfire. This is pretty much exactly what I run when I go cheap. Chokes, Antidote, Stamina and a Regen shot, maybe a Vitality shot too.

I would bring 2 waxed dynamite sticks as well, you can use them in combination with the decoy fuses. Throw 2 decoys and people won't expect the next throw to be an actual dynamite. I have gotten tons of kills doing it because people become overly confident about the fact that you only have decoys.

I actually don't like to bring waxed dynamite since you can't replace it at a tool box without making a lot of noise, but I would say bringing one normal dynamite does not brake the bank while giving you at least something to throw if you get into a fight before having had the opportunity to loot some.

Mike calling me a big cowboy made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I notice a lot of people in my lobbies (console 4-5 star) use penny for pvp as well, especially with a romero handcanon but even with the crown. I tend to just use buckshot (or slugs) for pvp but maybe i'm missing something.

The pennyshots are more reliable because you don't get half-hits like you do with buckshot. If someone gets hit in kill range with pennyshot, they're guaranteed to be dead. It's alot more noticeable on the Spectre, because it's not "pinpoint accurate VS pinpoint accurate".

Pennyshots on terminus are the new six star shotgun, we killed two full teams with nothing but terminus and Penny, it’s not even that good unless you run hunter controls and run levering and hide in the corner waiting for someone

I ran a similar loadout a long while back (before ammo, and used the negant revolver), had the community think the build was kinda meh in response when I said it was a good budget loadout. Ammo now makes cheap guns hyper expensive often. If your going to run slugs I often recomend to ANY shotgun packing a Le Matt as a back-up, load it with slugs, at the start you find an AI thats going to be in the way and send the slug and never reload, that way if you tap into a ammo pack it gives you a total of 4 slugs to the primary. Net worth means you get +1 slug per ammo can for them as well as you can get a +4 reserve. You can think of it as cheaper with additional ammo economy I cant state it enough how many times I've used penny to delete a player, recently I solo played and used the Romero 77 Alamo (pennies) with Spitfire rocking a nuckle knife medkit, throwing axe, and fuse (choke if in team), 2 small vit shots and a stam shot (leave last slot for pick-up). (this kit net me 4 server wipes before I was downed, was finally downed by a sparks sniper team that double tapped me as a wombo combo and half gave me a heart attack) At first glance the kit sounds weird, its just there isnt an economy boost for the pennies in the Le Matt as I mentioned before, but the Spitfire is more for follow up fire more then anything. Sticknig to CQC is the best option unless you can open with a headshot (not reliable due to velocity mind you). To keep in the theme of the video Cons: Pros: Not great at range Solid ammunition kill potential Slow repetitive fire (make good use of cover and peeking fire) Quick response to a person who actively survived a penny tag

Thanks for this loadout. I've taken it for a few games and have managed to do quite well with it, despite having potato aim. The simple sights on the shotgun actually make it a bit easier for me to hit things. Overall it feels like I have a good answer for most situations, aside from longer range engagements I should probably be running away from anyway.

Penny kills perfectly fine I'd say only not as far as slugs, and as a bonus you don't have to ads for it :) Overall I like shotguns but I feel like I have had a lot of bad luck with the romero 77 for some reason but will have to give this loadout a go though, looks fun!

Scott field spitfire is a legendary weapon imo. When you’re not trying to spend 400 on a pistol but still tap somebody’s head from 50 meters. Lol I’ve had so many moments with slugs like you had in this video. “Wtf, do slugs even do damage???😡” they just don’t work for me, and that’s okay, buckshot works great when I run a shotty

normally i would rather have the slugs to not be used at super close range like that cuz of the reason i will likely hit their arms since i wont have an easier tracking of their body up close where the buck shot or pennies wil let me hip fire and track them better up close, with the slugs if i know im gonna attack slightly further range then i will use that because i can track them better from that range nd likely will hit their torso. just like in the beginning of the video you see hits on arms when they are so close where pennies wouldve been easier to track and hip fire shot them

On xbox penny shot is the most reliable. Its mainly because of hit boxes because there kinda broken on xbox and they register more often then everything eles. Slugs still work most of the time but not as often as penny shot unless its a hand cannon.

I agree that consumables are easy to get, but taking a normal dynamite or a poison bomb is not much money and can help with spawnfights (poison bomb for solos during event, fire will also work)

Romero Talon is my favorite weapon ( shotgun ) especially with a brawler pistol ( mainly Nagant ) which allows me to have ( Med kit, and all three wires ) along with 2 con bombs a hell fire and frag bomb… or 2 con bombs and 2 Frag bombs… depends on my mood lol

LeMat slugs are just $65, imho still makes the whole loadout pretty budget & definitely worth considering, as an "upgrade" option! I very much like the fast and thus forgiving fire rate of double action pistols, like the officer, spitfire, and new army, though. I'd probably start out a new hunter on a double action, then switch to the FMJ LeMat w/ extra slugs for the Romero, once the hunter has proper perks, including fanning for full-panic-mode 😂

The Romero Talon, imo, is basically a budget bomblance with steelball ammo. Except the romero has diversity. It is really good.

Explain to me exactly why steel ball bomb Lance isn't just "fat crossbow talon" Both one-shot projectiles, Both arc but bomb Lance is far worse for arc and velocity. And it gets axe attached.

@@mikahoolwerff3563 Its a quick comparison that makes sense to me in terms of versatility and uses. Both can be use for a strong melee. With Steel ball ammo and dragons breath added as options for the bomblance, it's comparable to dragons breath and penny shot (Steel ball ammo cant penetrate). There are many differences in terms of reload speed, ammo, and also by looks. The bomb lance is comparible to a crossbow, but it would only for its default projectile. That's the only thing I can see for what they are similar about.

Both have ballistic projectiles so they got drop (crossbow has the better velocity and drop) Both are prone to being used hipfire run and gun. But are pretty much guaranteed one shot kills. (bomb Lance gets countered by bulwark) Both have lengthy reloads (again crossbow wins here due to bolt thrower) Shot bolt also has great pen. Aside from the Melee option on it. I can't for the life of me think of a single reason to run bomb Lance. I'm pretty sure it'd also more expensive.

You can't penetrate hunters except with the Nitro

I ended up dropping slugs because I got so tired of the arm shots. They just felt no more reliable than buckshot and require you to ADS. If I'm in the mood for Slug style gameplay these days I'll just play Crossbow with Shotbolt. Much more reliable on the ADS one tap at distance.

Which of these is the best load out..the cheap load out that you are able to take a trade for the load out of the person you killed? OR the load out you can take and clear the entire server with? I really really hope they scrap the self revive. It is massively overpowered. If someone with it kills any of your team from a distance they are usually up and running before you could get to the body. Several times I've lost entire teams because the killer hid at distance and killed us out in the open so we couldnt revive them safetly and just gets up if we manage to kill him. It also makes the really good players almost godlike. Admit it. How many videos have we all seen lately where the streamer gets killed then revives and takes out the entire team?

@@PsychoghostGaming Sorry Mike but I just don't agree with you in this case. It makes the game very frustrating to play. Every kill now where you are not certain it is part of a team you have to be ready for the chance it may just get up after 4+ secs. Which is not much fun. There are way to many revivals in this game. I get that it may be frustrating for solo players but all they have done is switch that to the team players. What is the point of playing really hard against another player. Managing to beat him, or not as is often the case, for that effort to be wasted because he is up and dangerous again seconds later? You can only carry so many traps etc which we pretty are forced into doing because of this new game play. That's just my and my mates experience. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but an anoyance none the less. :)

Also, I see exactly no reason to choose the Romero over the crossbow here. Crossbow ends up being cheaper, shot bolts are stronger than slugs due to not having the limb shot survival issue. And you get more spare ammo plus u can recover the regular bolts if u run just one shot bolt All at the slight cost of being a projectile so range gets more difficult. Buuut the crossbow is just as easy to hit with as a slug if u are in the one shot range of slug anyways. Anywhere beyond the slug would need 2 shots regardless while crossbow one shots. But tbt I consider xbow to be the single best gun in the game. Maybe being outdone by anyone with any skill on the avto.

Crossbow does not have the Talon and the Crossbow has 0 penetration (exception shotbolt, but it still works a bit differently). Ammo is for me never an issue. Or almost never. Crossbow can get blocked by an aiming arm, slugs not. Crossbow needs to be lead where the slug is just point and click. Don't get me wrong. Crossbow is amazing. But for other reasons.

Concertina Bomb is not blocking the self-revive with resilience. You will survive with a medkit if you're quick (it still helps to have some wire though!)

I personally don't like slugs, I feel 9/10 times it's an arm shot, and I've been meme'd far too many times by landing what should be torso shots to only have them live and insta headshot me after. If I need to two tap I just take fletchet and I know I have to two shot.

I've been playing with same loadout but dragon breath instead of slugs and regular buckshot + fire ammo on spitfire to lit people up when they got charcoal hp It's been pretty great with solo against duos and I even got double kill with one insane talon swipe
