Hey Brooke. I love your vids. They are the best psych vids on the net. Noticed you haven't posted for a long time. Just got accepted into Hons, and have watched all your stuff. Any more on the cards?

Thank you!! Such a lovely and motivating message to receive. Congratulations on your honours spot!! I am starting year 2 of clinical psych masters but am planning on making more videos. Is there anything in particular you would like to hear me speak on?

@@psychologywithbrooke Thanks Brooke. Absolutely! The referee process for Masters is a topic that baffles me - best practices, how to ask your supervisor/boss, how to know if it's been done, how different uni's differ in regards to platforms used and requirements. Good luck on your final year. I'm going to your old stomping grounds - RMIT - for hons (originally from Swin), so I hope it's worth it. I've subscribed to your vids, as I really enjoy them, and got lots out of them all. Look forward to the next one! Drew :)

This helped with my anxiety so much, I'm definitely feeling imposter syndrome and frantically revising old content to prepare myself for next year lol

I think a little bit of imposter syndrome is alright, that way we don't get too cocky haha! Super happy you found this helpful :D All the best

Thank you for making this!! 🌸 This is a great video, very insightful 😊 I’m wondering about your process for picking your thesis! Did you have an idea of the area you wanted to focus on at the end of third year? Did it take long for you to figure out? I just came across this video today so I’m looking forward to checking out your other content and once again, thanks so much for your honesty and for breaking things down for us :)

How was the study load of the coursework subjects compared to 3rd year coursework subjects? Im trying to grasp the amount of workload in honours.
@psychologywithbrooke10 ай бұрын
Hey! I found the coursework subjects easier to complete (the assignments felt lighter) and the thesis was easy to fit in. The only issue is that every university is going to be a little bit different and people work at different paces. The workload is doable though and I didn't feel it was anywhere near as bad as people had drummed up it would be.

Hi Brooke! This is such a great video as someone who is about to begin Honours in a couple weeks :). I would love to know where you volunteered throughout your year. Also, congrats on your amazing grades!!

Hey! Thank you! And I'm so glad you enjoyed the video :D I volunteered with the Raise Foundation and In2Science. I'm going to make a video (it will be out by Wednesday) discussing my experiences with these organisations, what the roles entailed, and their benefits. I hope you find it helpful. And congrats on getting into honours!!! I'm sure you'll have a fantastic and eventful year

Thank you !! I just have a question, Do you have to use SPSS or R studio in honors year? I did so bad in stats
@psychologywithbrooke2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Great question. I did have to use SPSS once or twice for a core subject. This was based on the same skill level that I had been taught in my bachelor degree. (I ran an ANOVA and a t-test if I recall, and had to write up the results for an assignment). For my thesis I used a program called JASP. This is considered by some to be a nicer alternative to SPSS (I would agree). Using JASP was my supervisors recommendation. They walked me through how to run the analyses specific to my thesis :) Overall I wouldn't panic about the statistics in honours. I would definitely recommend, however, revising what you can (of statistics) from your bachelors degree before starting honours, just to feel a bit more confident. I think the statistics in honours is absolutely doable, you might have to just put a little bit of extra time and effort in where you feel your skills lack. Good luck!!
