from his bio: Morgan Housel is a partner at The Collaborative Fund. He is a two-time winner of the Best in Business Award from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers, winner of the New York Times Sidney Award, and a two-time finalist for the Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism. He lives in Seattle with his wife and two kids. - Why should I listen to anything he says about psychology? What is it with writers and journalists thinking they are qualified to write about psychology and human behavior?

No thanks. If you are making a comfortable living int the United States, you are most likely doing something other advanced countries heavily regulate due to ethical and societal concerns. For this reason, I will NEVER work in profit-based healthcare (our model ranks 37th in cost, access, and outcomes, causes 50,000 deaths per year due to lack of access to costly preventive care, results in 500,000 bankruptcies per year, and gives us the 2nd highest infant mortality rate in the advanced world), NEVER work in a legal field as our laws are arbitrary and arbitrarily enforced, often by extremist prosecutors, judges, and law enforcement, NEVER in fossil fuels as they are absolutely, COMPLETELY illogical fuel sources as they have extremely low energy conversion rates compared to green energy, are the most expensive to access, cause the most environmental harm, and result in HIGHER utility bills, NEVER in sales, NEVER in pharmaceuticals (the number one driver of healthcare costs in the U.S. as we are the ONLY country that refuses to regulate ALL prices on some level), NEVER in retail where I would be a cog in a machine, NEVER in any filed that insults my education or intellect, NEVER in defense industries as even five star generals are stating we need to cut our deplorably wasteful defense budget in half (and is it truly worth defending a country that has fallen to 27th in upward mobility and has the highest childhood poverty rate in the advanced world, NEVER in labor, NEVER in any job where I have to encounter the undereducated and deal with their right-wing rants and lack of professionalism, NEVER in anything blue collar EVER again as I CANNOT work with the undereducated as they come to work having been lobotomized and outraged by Fox "News" the previous evening, and are outraged at BS while ignoring REAL issues, etc. This basically leaves 1. Universities that divested from fossil fuels 2. Large museums such as the Smithsonian 3. Large libraries (or even small ones that pay good wages which I have encountered in other states) 4. Certain counseling positions that are non-profit and do NOT involve children. 5. Certain non-profits that ethical missions. 6. Education positions in regions/states where evangelicals do NOT exist or are allowed to influence content. 7. Fields related to the fine arts or film restoration. Otherwise, disability.

Is immigration an issue? I mean, the U.S. has fallen to 27 in upward mobility due to our having the lowest minimum wage of any advanced country by far ($7.25 versus $16 to $26 per hour in other advanced countries. This keeps everyone's wages artificially low since the minimum wage is a base wage for ALL wages. It has also resulted in the U.S. now having the highest childhood poverty rate in the advanced world. We also have an indefensible profit-based healthcare model no other country wants because it ranks 37th in cost, access, and outcomes, results in 50,000 deaths per year due to lack of access to costly preventive healthcare and price-gouged medications and causes an average 500,000 bankruptcies per year due to medical bills. I mean, sure, every country needs a decent immigration policy, but the overwhelming majority of immigrants (illegal included) commit no crimes other than fleeing their countries, bring no drugs into the U.S. (the majority of drugs brought into the U.S. come via plane and boat), and what's worse is that bad U.S. policy is causing individuals to flee their countries. Over 93% of the guns used by drug cartels to murder families in Mexico and South America were made in the U.S. (which is why Mexico wants the right to sue U.S. gun manufacturers). Also, research has shown that more drugs we legalize in the U.S., the more illegal immigration slows as our deplorable and hypocritical drug war gives power to illegal drug cartels supplying the U.S. One of the main reasons immigrants flee these countries is violence caused by these cartels, and the drug war is hypocritical anyway as most drug deaths are caused by side-effects from over prescribed prescription medications. As for Trump's "wall," it's not a solution as a REAL wall be the most expensive and labor-intensive building project in American history. We don't have the money as we keep cutting taxes for the wealthy and corporations to nothing (60% of our national debt is due to Trump's and George W. Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations), and it's not feasible anyway as the border zig zags across rivers thousands of times (this is why drones are used to monitor the border). Also, from a Christian perspective, Jesus repeatedly told his followers to clothe, feed, and love immigrants because he too was an immigrant. How about we quit scapegoating marginalized groups for issues in this country caused by sociopathic oligarchs and put the blame on bad policy for once.

One of the worlds most murderous conflicts is going on in Israel-Palestine and Pakman is talking about this. Unreal and sad. Wonder whose Pakman backers are? It almost seems like David has chosen to sit on the face as he is probably too afraid to antagonize his viewers (which I believe are Pro-Palestinian) or his sponsors (who perhaps might hold pro-Israeli position). Lack of moral clarity by Pakman although disappointing can be forgiven for I guess because none of us are perfect.

Seriously bruh everywhere else is all Israel-Palestine, it's nice to break things up. And "backers" is a dog whistle for "Jew", you should feel shame but I'm certain you can't. Nobody cares what you believe, you're nothing but a virtue signaler. But I believe you hate Jews and are a sympathizer for terrorists.

The fate of our country is at stake in 2024. The Presidency and control of the Senate will run through Arizona. I am proud to endorse my friend @KariLake for the U.S. Senate in Arizona. Kari will fight to secure the border, which is out of control under Joe Biden. She will fight to cut inflation and lower gas prices for Arizonans. We need Kari in the Senate to save Arizona and America.

I love it how David hasn’t made a single video about the border in the past 2 weeks, because it’s so inconvenient. Progressives need to learn the difference between asylum and seeking better economic opportunity. Address the elephant in the room, what’s your real solution other than “help everyone?” Insanity.

That is the only solution. We are all in the same boat, world wide and you know what will be the biggest accelerator for this? The destruction of our habitat for the financial benefit of the few. But hey, GL&HF living in denial. 😊

It is interesting that the same people who worry about dropping birth rates worry about immigration. Which is cheaper? Raising a child for 18 years or allowing an immigrant in and giving them a hammer. Immigration, though with some issues, is a net positive. It is your xenophobic lizard brain that thinks it is the biggest issue ever.

I don't remember the last time the border issue was ever solved lmao. I'm pretty sure it's been a issue long before I was born. It's such a tired narrative now. I like how people want to get worked up over issues they can't solve themselves. Let's just chill cause man how long has this been a issue.....
