That pain of missing out (on events, on time with people, on life) is such a chronic illness mood. It’s why it’s so hard to listen to people who say they don’t want to stay home or mask when they’re sick. I’m grateful you stayed home and to all the folks who stay home.

Being sick in the summer is really the worst. Hope you both feel 100% soon!

I"m one of those people who empathize via relating back and forth. I too feel super alienated when I share something vulnerable and the conversation partner chooses not to introspect to find something from their own experience to share with me to show me they recognize my emotion. It really serves to reassure me that my conversation partner thinks I'm normal and human like themselves. As an autistic person this is a constant undercurrent of social life - "can i get them to see/treat me as a human being? do i make sense to them? do they recognize my emotions are like theirs?" There's a popular meme going around about "neurodivergent love languages" and this specific behavior is one of the analagous love languages mentioned in the meme!

Oh no!!!! I'm so sorry you are both sick! Having to go through such a lengthy time affected by health issues and unable to go out must really be sucky... especially canceling events you've been looking forward to for so long! Hopefully you both fully recover soon and then go absolutely WILD going out and making the most out of the rest of summertime! Maybe it's time for a big vacation too...like Japan, maybe with the parents...you deserve it! 🥳 Feel better! ❤🙏🕊

Thanks! By the way, I'm not sure if I'm going to get to Below Deck since I'm still sick. Also, I think Ultimatum is starting soon. But thanks for the summary, etc. Very helpful.

I lived on having grocery delivery of pre-made fruit smoothies from the produce department during my first few days of COVID! I totally understand the appetite loss. It was my first time having COVID ever, this year. Long covid is real though - shortness of breath comes a lot sooner even months after healing.

That’s exactly how I felt with covid. Didn’t have energy for anything and lights were a torture to my eyes. Didn’t leave my bed for like 5 days. It was rough. Glad you are feeling better!

Yeah, it was rough. Covid sucks.

So sorry to hear this, hope when you are better there will be more fun things to come… I have OCD and was latching on to the fear of getting sick and missing out. Especially before Taylor swift concert like you mentioned given expensive tickets. Definitely more of a feeling of being conscientious since pandemic too…

I'm so sorry to hear about all your sickness. That really really sucks. When the mask mandate first lifted last year, I also got sick with back to back illnesses like you. After those initial illnesses, any cold I've had since then has not been nearly as bad. Hopefully you guys will be similar to me, and those initial sicknesses post pandemic are the worst. Here's hoping it's all uphill from here!

Thanks! Yeah, this sucks. Stacy is finally feeling a little better though.

How would Stacey feel if you shared some of her artwork? Are there any spots online we can go to check her art out, if she's comfortable with that?
