When I was at one of my lowest points I would see “shadow people”. I remember seeing mail boxes and stuff like that turning into a humanoid figure. I also saw a tree turn into a human. My thumb turn into a spider when I went to open a door and my sunglasses turn into a mouse of some sort when they slide towards me on my passenger seat while driving. I remember being very distressed by these at the time and thinking I was going crazy. Now I realize I was just in a bad place mentally. I have struggled with a lot of trauma in my past

@Muhammad Abdullah honestly it took a lot of work, I was unemployed for a long time after this trying to recover. I think it helped because I was able to focus on myself. I also took some small amounts of psychedelics during this time which supposedly helps with things like anxiety and depression but I wouldn’t recommend it for everyone . I did a lot of introspection and research online on coping mechanisms and went to a free therapy session every now and again when I was in a really bad place

I have mental health issues and have had episodes of psychosis and hallucinations previously in my life. I am making it my life mission now to educate myself as much as I can about human psychology so I can understand my own and others conditions. I am also looking at retraining in psychology so I can try and help others in dealing with their problems. Thank you so much for providing this content and making it free to watch, many people do not appreciate how lucky we are to live in an age where content like this is so readily available.

I've believed since I was a kid that people knew exactly what i was looking at online and could see/hear my thoughts (or when I was in better mental health conditions, just that I 'made certain faces' that clued people into what i was thinking) and it was extremely stressful. I'm sure i don't have like any schizophrenic disorder, but watching these videos really help to calm myself and deal with those delusions better.

I had visual hallucinations and had also very strong feeling of a fear, up to 13 years old, I was hallucinating even other people's feeling like they wanted to kill me, but when hallucinations were starting to take my brain on I was starting to be like paralysed or was forgetting how to move, except hands. I could move my arms and talk too, and everything around me was like upside down and like world was trying to split in a half, when I was looking to my hand or someone else's I was seeing them to change the shapes of body parts like getting their head smaller or my hands very thin and I could even feel the how shapes were changing I can't exactly describe, but I was saying over and over that I was upside down while all this were happening in my head and was crying, but finally time by time I started to get a hold of the fears and all those feelings, I was able to convince myself that all of those stuff weren't real and after I did that I only had hallucinations for couples of months rarely and one day it just disappeared, so if anyone else going through as I was, hope it helps. Just try to take control over your feeling first and convince yourself that all the rest is also made up by you, not by devil or something like this, my parents thought I was possessed by evel spirited 🤣 yeah they did and they were like "go away commend you by name of Jesus Christ" but I was only one capable of commending my extremely real looking made up thoughts, that is hallucinations, just part of super scary imagination that is hard to control, they ain't real, and devil, jesus and all the others like them aren't real as well, you have to do it. Hope I didn't write this for no one. 🤣

I don't know what's wrong with me, sometimes I see shadows of either people or small animals out of the corners of my eyes, and rarely I'll experience these visions where they get triggered by intrusive thoughts like "What if you come downstairs and _____ is laying on he floor dead" which will then prompt me into a sort of experience where I live through the situation. These are mostly visual, sometimes I can hear things from them and just recently I had one where I could see, hear and terrifingly feel in detail

I have those “peripheral” hallucinations sometimes, usually when I’m sleep deprived. I have a theory that there’s probably some sort of mechanism built into your brain that lets you automatically recognize faces or the human silhouette. My guess is If you’re under stress or sleep deprived or something interferes with that mechanism, it can start malfunctioning and register things that arent faces/bodies. So when it does this you feel like you are seeing a distorted creepy face or a person standing in your peripheral, when in reality it’s just some shapes that vaguely resemble that, and your subconscious brain just misclassified it. That’s just my guess though, but for me it literally feels like that, like my brain detection software glitching out. When I turn to focus on what I think is a person or face and I realize nothings there, I can still sort of see the outline of whatever I thought I saw in whatever happens to actually be there. Like for example if I think I see a guy standing and I turn and it’s just a jacket hanging, I can understand how my brain thought it was a person because the jacket is a vaguely human shaped object. Anyways, just wanted to share that with you bc after I had that idea it made those hallucinations a lot less scary for me. Once I felt I was consciously picking up on the “mistakes” my subconscious mind was making after I experienced a hallucination, they began to occur a lot less frequently and when they did happen it was not as frightening. All the best! :)

Now I agree with this video however You want to know what’s so sad about this and actually makes situations worse for the individual. Is the fact that at times, the individual is not lying. And because the individual can’t explain properly or prove it at that given moment, it’s written off as a delusion. Witch is really unsettling and makes matters worse for the individual. I know this from experience. I have actually been followed by people or groups of people and the only time I was believed was the one time I was able to prove it because I was close enough to my home and I called my mother and told her this lady has been following me for over a block please come and she came and saw it for her own eyes. That was the only time I was believed. Any other time after that I wasn’t believed and it is not a good feeling to be in situations like that when your telling the truth and your not believed. On the other hand yes most times do actually be delicious and hallucinations, however, it is a disservice to many individuals that are automatically written off because of a mental illness. In my opinion FYI, most of the time these individuals are actually telling you the truth, their just not believed and it causes more damage to the individuals. I just wanted to share that because I understand how most individuals feel.

Olfactory hallucinations usually mean brain-damage, and they're quite distressing. Visual hallucinations can come from sleep-deprivation, brain-damage, and medicine. It doesn't happen all of the time, but the silver bird was nice. The umbrella floating down the street was kind of distressing. I've been on so many and seen so many weird things.

But now I know what’s truly wrong with my mind and where part of the blasphemy is involved in of the lies that I don’t really mean and why I feel like I’m possessed by wicked spirits. When really it’s probably not the case after all, and yeah, my insecurities really gets the best of me :/ It never truly disappears, and my mind only wants things to get worse for me :/ Half or most the time, I literally got a death issue and am so preoccupied with my own death. Though, I still got a problem just because I have too many insecurities. I’m probably only causing everyone and God trouble and that’s it. Literally, probably everyone’s tired of me. I have only had one hallucination as I can remember. While I have had countless experiences with sleeping paralysis, it usually happens with my eyes closed. Once I was able to open my eyes, but not move the rest of my body. As I was staring at the window, it was hit by something, and a red color started to spread in all direction, defying gravity. Eventually it covered the window like a red film. And all the time, I knew it wasn't real and that I was hallucinating.

This video is very helpful. I had a psychotic episode last year and I didint know who I was and could not understand much of anything beside the delusions. It was mental torture, in fact I thought I was in hell even thought I could see I was not. Probably one if the worst experiences if my life...the only thing I could compare it to would be a bad trip on psychedelics.. but it was much worse. I don't usually experience mental health symptoms this severe so it was jarring for me.

The brain is amazing and has abilities to do much more than we can imagine. The person who we classified as hallucinated or delusional is in excited state of mind. He or she might be living in 6th, 7th or 8th dimension which is beyond our ability to understand and communicate. One day we will have advance technologies to understand this.

I can fell u... had this for years almost every day... then I decided to be relaxed and it vanished... so after years of studying it I think whats really happening... you basically overthink all day and through your head are going so much things and stress is increased which activates something like defence in your brain and increases focus and you catch those words that have to do something about you and you are connecting only those words so it looks like they are speaking against you.... orr they say something and your brain converts sound in to what you want to hear... try relaxing a bit and be I dont give a f*** guy to see if it will happen. Usually I get this if weed hits me bad but it almost always does so with this knowledge I learned to relax and when I smoke now Its working good... Its like if you are paranoid it will happen... ive had guts to smoke and be paranoid to study it... i bet that you look at people expecting they are talking about you... just stop it and enjoy your time by yourself and be chill then see what happens... also try to sweat a lot to detox yourself... seems like stress is not letting you get detoxicated. I hope something helps here cuz i know how hellish it can get. Also dont drink coffee, it helps a lot.

Medical condition (not mental) such as lets say.... Severe Hydrocephalus that impacted the brain (swelling\inflamed) can cause hallucinations BUT this was caused by a medical condition as the source not the other way around. The CSF which has different pressures throughout the day do impact the brain and can cause many symptoms, and hallucinations is one of them. It passes as the CSF changes.

I have this strong swing of visual and tactile hallucinations sometimes and it’s quite frightening. It happens at night when I’m in my bed. I can usually feel it starting to come on when my eyes feel like they’re melting and when I close my eyes and try to picture a person, their limbs are growing and shrinking in ways that are unnatural. This usually translates into my body after a while where I feel smaller or bigger than usual in some places. If I don’t go to sleep within the first hour of this happening, some more odd things start to go on. I start seeing things that I know are not real but are just flashing through my mind. Many of these things are humanoid figures staring at me with wide eyes. Eyes. They are a huge part of it. The eyes are the sole focus in these visual hallucinations. At this point I usually go to sleep and I feel fine in the morning. I abstain from all alcohol or drugs, and don’t have any prescriptions at this time.

Lately I've been seeing things, but strangely i only see them from the corner of my eye. I would be sitting in class(i sit right beside the door which is made of glass) and suddenly from the cornwr of my eyes i would see a lion walking in the school hall, when im doing hw at night i would see a dark figure wildly running out of the room, and i often lock my doors make sure my curtains are closed bc i always believe that smn may be watching me in dark outside whilst im doing things. Im uncomfortable with stares and that the sensation of being watched often follows me. Although i feel all these i have no real reason i may be experiencing these. Im physically pretty healthy(as healthy as any stressed 16yo can be) and my home and life is generally pretty good. Only reason i may be experiencing these would be my sleep deprivation, for the last 3 months ive picked up a bad habit of getting only 4-5 hour of sleep every night. I get the hallucinating which could be bc of the lack of sleep but is the paranoia caused by sleep deprivation?? Or do i need to get a serious mental check??

I got my "brain error" when I was 40. But what I learned from them is: 1 The human mind is very powerful, it can fool it's owner. 2 I use them as a mirror to my self. The person who I am. No one fools me. Not even my own mind. So question you're believes and test them. Test your hallucinations believes against you're own. KNOW YOU ARE THE MAIN CHARACTER! Maybe this can help you a bit.

It’s definitely because of sleep deprivation. The most common side effects are audio hallucinations, but visual hallucinations are common as well. You may also be seeing objects suddenly appearing into your frame of view, seemingly out of nowhere. These are all hallucinations. Start taking a small dose of melatonin (over the counter sleep aid) with some warm tea an hour before bed time. And also stop watching KZbin videos late at night, that too can have a negative impact on your sleep cycle. Good sleep is one of the most important factors in both physical and mental health and well-being.

Is it possible that the only reason these diagnosis' are a problem is because the person has not learned how to live with it? I grew up with a friend that was diagnosed with schizophrenia (he heard multiple voices). He learned to live with it and we all did to. So when he would say something out of the norm, we would tell him his voice just said blah. This made him feel like all of us were going through it with him so what started out with voices telling him to kill himself, ended with his voices telling him we are part of him and to trust us and not to die because he would break the circle. I know it sound weird but... We were young. We asked him to speak with specific voices. He told us or don't work that way but we didn't know better. He learned to teach to himself a way to use the voices by giving each voice a safe personality and instead of trying to get rid of the voices he wanted them to grow with him. Almost to the point of multiple personalities. He did at the head of the table and the voices can only advise him. With this framing, he is still here and happy to this day and he lives a normal life as long as we all are still available in a sense. He has a whole new team now at his job and they do the same for him that we did in hs. None of us even remember he has it as we all are kind of doing the same we did for him to ourselves in our own personal lives. I use his skill to design engineering models and a friend of ours uses it to prepare for court, he's a lawyer. We all call this method, "boardroom" method and I don't think this would ever work on a massive scale but it's worth looking into. I can see very easily where this could go wrong. If it wasn't for his motivations I don't think it would have been a success tbh.

Is it possible that during the development of an individual, they pick up multiple disorders as a result of a faulty interpretation of reality, which I think is common at that period and they could reappear later in life as a result of some triggering phenomena or such? Personally I think the answer is absolutely, just want to make sure and have a reference. If so, is there a particular notion solely for this specific recurrence? And is it also considered to be a disorder or does it have a different classification? Thanks, anybody, for answer.

I don't see, how hearing voices is an illness? Are you're own thoughts an illusion? Is colour an illusion? How you think, is who you are (consider this!). It can also be an addition to you're personality. Ask questions. Ask the hard questions to you're self, and know you are in CTRL. I have them, voices. I'm NOT schizophrenic nor did I ever had a psychoses (professionally confirmed). I'm mentally stable and I feel good about myself (I love who I am). I also have real lifetime friends, and never feel alone (I know these people since I was a teenager, now I'm 47). I also have/talk to them (my voices), just as I can talk to any of you. I have had whole discussions with them about lots of different topics. My voices are consistent in terms of how they sound and who they are. They seem to have there own personality! I hear 2 (a women and a man), and they never try to make me do anything negative or command me in any sort of way. It's almost like having two friends in my head... I've had this for years (7 years) and still think it's weird and odd. Once I decided to talked to professionals about this. They also thought my case is a bit odd since I'm not paranoid or did I ever loose contact with reality. I'm just an other human being with no special powers. I was surprised when that question was asked "Do you have any special powers". No I do not have powers! I'm just a complected person who loves him self!

My daughter Erica was diagnosed Schizophrenic six years ago she is now 28 years old. Over the years she has been on several different medications and treated by several psychologist with little to no effect on her auditory hallucinations which are severe. She suffers with this from the time she gets up in the morning, around 5 and sits on the back patio having nonstop verbal interaction with the voices she hears until she goes to bed usually around 8 o'clock. The only break in this occurs when she is eating or speaking to someone. If anyone has had this same experience and can make suggestions as to where we can get help or guidance please do.

Has she gone inpatient in a mental hospital for at least a month at some point? This is critical in medication selection

I heard a nurse say you don't have to be psychotic to have delusions, but it's all psychotic disorders if I understand this video right. Can someone explain? I get the idea that my idea that a delusion means there is a psychosis is right. (There were no drugs or alcohol involved.)

Problem is the terminology. Delusion = firm false belief (= patient has not insight) held inspite of contrary evidence BUT not originating from a) religious beliefs, b) cultural beliefs, c) social system And then again you can subdivide delusions into bizarre and non-bizarre... I am pretty sure she was talking about this. Imagine the most "benign" form of a delusion (which actually, acc. to the def., isn't one): being a (non-extreme) theist (person who thinks that there is a go out here but we can't know his plans, etc.)

@@xDomglmao No, this lady (the patient) said things like: my daugther is at the door but they won't let her in. Or: police, my daughter is being raped!

@@queenofnoonesheart Oh hmmm In that case I would say: since it's a non-bizarre delusion (not like "I am God") it does not qualify for "real" psychotic behaviour

I’m not sure if it’s because I don’t sleep long enough or what but at different times I hear group of voices talking to each other like if you were in a different room than them or like background noises and it gets me every time

I took my dads clothes out of the dryer last night and put mine in, then the next day, everyone asked why i mixed my clothes with my dads, my sister and my moms clothes, but i didnt see my moms clothes last night, only my dads, i said i saw nothing else that night and i took out all the clothes out of the dryer, then when i checked the dryer today my moms clothes were in there. Im so confused, did i hallucinate my dad's clothes being gone? But i saw my dads clothes where i put them, and i didnt see my mom' clothes either, but today i saw them. CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN PLS I DONT UNDERSTAND... MY HEAD IS HURTING FROM CONFUSION

There are very many drug interactions in the things you listed! Best would be to indeed go and ask a psychiatrist!

I'm here looking for a way to cure my violent paranoid sibling. American politics and online fables has left him completely disjointed from reality. How do you combat ideological psychosis brought on by radical political beliefs?
