Gary Hawkins amphetamines (uppers) played a part in his death. He used them for decades and this put a strain on his cardiovascular system. Johnny Cash was another user since the 1950s as were a large number of people in the 50s and 60s

People still use those substances as extra to get over alcohol use or together with alcohol and can end up in what I would call overdrinking or delirium but use still usually would start from alcohol what is most available drug worldwide it could be packed as champagne, wine's, beers,ciders or what ever would contain alcohol or been used at partying..... Or so called relaxing or taking time off and get faster back to work over life tempo I suppose....and mostly in city's where is maybe lack of other activities or intrest and addiction and substances are easy to get for everyone.... Salesman's should know how it works on them anyway before they sell it in public I suppose they know how it works on other humans anyway....
