Em’s daughter Hailie is grown now and has a podcast “A Little Shady”. I’m so impressed by her and the type of woman she grew into. So many 20 something women with rich parents seem to struggle to be okay with who they are. They get plastic surgery and almost try to become a caricature of what advertisement show as “sexy” just to feel that they have worth. She and her best friend are just a breath of fresh air. I’m 48, my daughter is of a similar age. I went through really tough times too, but I think that maybe being there helps us have perspective as people and parents. Hearing this track brings home how far he came and I imagine he must feel that he accomplished his goals in life just because he did the most difficult thing ever- he broke the cycle of generational trauma, poverty, and addiction.

@Kno_Buddy2 жыл бұрын
@@ImVxpour what the hell are you talking about? I only said that he recorded both songs before he was famous. Your reply makes no sense whatsoever with the comment you posted it on. The only thing that even remotely connects it is the name of the song. You seem to be implying that I thought they were the same which is not a claim I made. I merely stated that they were both recorded roughly around the same time.
@melissakennedy15062 жыл бұрын
If I had is one of my favorites too. The verse about wearing the same pair of Lugz was like a whole story to me. I can’t imagine what it was like to go to the clubs and open mics, the only white guy, wearing the same clothes every time because you’re poor, trying to get noticed despite not having a fresh ‘fit or any flash. To keep doing it over and over takes more guts than I have. It would only take a couple of times before I’d quit. Hell, I quit water aerobics because it was mostly older women who were all friends and I felt left out. But you’re right, they were on Slim Shady EP that he put out himself before Dre and they just got a little better production.

Eminem says "lifetime bliss for eternal torture and pain". He was at rock bottom and willing to do anything and everything to make it out. Fast forward and he' has become the biggest hip hop artist and one of the biggest artist ever. There have been many times Eminem has said that if he could give it all back, he would. Rock Bottom came out in 1999 before he made it big. By 2002 he was an international star and was already writing lyrics about how he wish he could give everything back. Like in the song "Say Goodbye Hollywood" he says "If I could go back, I never would've rapped/I just wanna leave this game with level head intact". The whole song is about how a part of him wishes he wasn't where he was at because of the negative side effects, but those two lines really tell you how he feels and how he felt up until he recovered from drugs. The duality of man is amazing.

Another really good Eminem song I'd like to see you react to is "Difficult" Feat. Obie Trice. It was never released on any album but its on KZbin, and he does into a lot of detail surrounding the death of his best friend (Proof/Doody/DeShaun) that he's mentioned in several of his other songs. I really really think this song would be PERFECT for this series!

When you feel suffocated so much that NOT feeling emotionally underwater feels weird to you. When your family expects you to disappoint them at any moment, no matter how good you’re doing… because they’re usually right. When you sit in your car and eye the weakest person to rob for a bit of cash to get through another day. Waiting outside of Cash-for-Gold stores to pawn some earrings and then find out they’re fakes. I’ve been there many times and it’s the darkest place on planet earth. The worst is when you self sabotage yourself to get BACK to rock bottom because you feel like you DESERVE to be there. THATS rock bottom. And thank god for Eminem and songs he has like this. It got me through some of the worst times in my life. There’s always a way out. Always.

What you said about people taking things from others just to survive is so true. We have luckily lived in safe neighborhoods most of my life and rarely had to worry about break in and theft, but there was this one time that someone busted our car window to steal a $50 GPS out of the front window. It didn’t end up costing us much, but it was a headache and a hassle and I asked myself “what if this person just needed a few bucks? If they had just asked me I would have given them something to tied them over.” They took nothing else, just that one item and I can’t imagine they made much hocking it. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

I lost everything; house, car, job, girl, nice clothes, furniture, prized possessions, etc. All within about 6 months. Then struggled just to get by for the next 6 months, and then my mom died suddenly - who was my best friend! Went into a deep depression for about 4 years, all alone with no help in sight. Finally decided to make one small simple goal, and to stick with it. My goal was to get a job, whatever job I can get, and never miss work - no matter what, no excuses! Now I make 6 figures, have a nice place, and all of the nice things I had before, even nicer! I use to complain about losing everything before my mom died, then it happened, and I realized that everything I had lost could be replaced, except her. She was gone forever. Rock bottom can teach you things if you're open to learning. I ended up there mostly through a series of bad choices, or at least not the best choices, and some unfortunate circumstances. Make better choices, get better outcomes. Even if your better choices are simple and/or small, and your outcomes are only slightly better. Just rinse and repeat, and rock bottom will eventually be far beneath the level you have risen to.

“Rock bottom” was recorded for his first major album in 1997/1998. Eminem probably was going thru heavy drug and mental problems from early childhood until around 2010. His music was at his best when he was doing very bad. That’s the reason why I ain’t mad at him because his lastest music doesn’t sound that good to me or the cancel Europa tour in the early 2000s. I rather listen to his older music and know he’s doing great agin. Me and my brother had tickets for that tour for a concert and were looking forward to see Eminem, D12, 50, G Unit, Mobb Deep, M.O.P. But it’s ok because he got the help he needed.

Ok ima be honest. Love this page. One of my favorites so please do not get me wrong. BUT…it seems to be becoming, well let me not say becoming. More like he’s been leaning more towards the entertainment factor of reactions which is totally fine I understand he wants to entertain us and it may generate more subs and views I guess.. but if it starts to affect the actual purpose for the reactions then idk 🤷🏾♂️ I just wanna give an honest comment. All in all the reaction was great, but I just don’t want him to think that he needs to do the extra antics cuz honestly he gets so hype sometimes that hes not even listening to the words especially when it’s a song that is not even meant for that but hey if a song makes you feel a certain way then that’s just what it does I get it. But I respect it more and enjoy it more when he actually listens thoroughly to the lyrics off the rip. He’s into it pausing and break it down and all that. Not going crazy lol letting the beat hypnotize you which forces him to start yelling and talking over the song n then not rewinding it far back enough so now you miss the purpose of the latter bars …idk I don’t wanna make a big deal about it but I just want to stay as him. Be himself. He doesn’t have to do extra antics for my support. That’s all I’m saying. Ok ima shut up
@zachzabala2 жыл бұрын
I think your looking into this too deeply 😄 Tom only gets soo much time to add his imsight. Tom loves the music and he hears every lyric. But he can't process everything on the first take. Also they have to pause the music due to copyright. They aren't even doing this for subs and views and they have said that a number of times. So if your choosing not to listen when Tom speaks about not doing any of this for the views and likes well than unfortunately that's on you. Their purpose is to spread mental health awareness through music and lyrics. If he isn't bobbing his head for one reaction. Everyone will complain that Tom has changed and that he is putting on an act. This is the version of Tom we have gotten since day 1. That will never change regardless of how big reaction therapy gets. Thanks for your constructive criticism I guess? Why is this reaction page one of your favorites?
