D'Angelo Bailey was in fact one of the kids that bullied Eminem in school. Mr. Bailey tried to sue Eminem for defamation but lost the lawsuit (I think on hearsay grounds, but the details escape me). And I still love how Em managed to (mostly) make "orange" rhyme with something in this track. I absolutely love this song; the beat, the lyrics, the subject, it's all perfect

Yea lol called him out plain as day one of my favorite things about Eminem is he was never afraid to call out or say things that he felt needed to be said. And allways gives props and credit to those who deserve it!

I believe the reason he lost is because Eminem was able to show that most of the song was over exaggerated for entertainment so it wasn’t defamation. Could be wrong tho

@@ReactionTherapyOfficial Oh and the premise of the song is all true. The bully, the nurse sent him back to class, the principal did walkin on the fight, of course without jumping in, went home, his mom did accuse him of being on drugs, and I believe he spent a week in the hospital, hence why the song is called "Brain Damage".

Yes, D'Angelo Bailey is the real bully who picked on Eminem and beat him up. At one point, he rolled a metal object up in a snowball and threw it at Eminem and hit him in the head in the boys bathroom. It put him into a coma for about 10 days, and he had to relearn all of his motor skills. And to this day, he has been said to still suffer from migraines. The day it happened, his mother went to the school because he never made it home after school, and found him laying on the bathroom floor unconscious, bleeding from his head. She sued the school for neglect, but lost. And years later, D'Angelo actually tried to sue Eminem for defamation but the judge threw it out of court because Bailey admitted to bullying him in school. The judge was legendary because described the reason she was dismissing the case in the form of a Rap song 😆

I think the principal walking in is more of a metaphor for teachers letting things like this slide or just being oblivious to them and in that way they enable it.

Marshall spent over a week in a coma from a beating that left him unconscious I feel as though he added the principle part was added because the school knew he was missing from class and did nothing in other words the principle might as well have helped because they did nothing for him, he was found later by his mother in the bathroom bleeding.

You were right the first time, about the teacher not actually saying she let the bully beat him and the principal helping him stomp him. It's just a metaphor of how their negligence allows this to happen on a daily basis. The teacher who could have seen little Bruce all battered up and tethered on multiple days or the principle who does not kick off or properly discipline a problematic child. Same goes for his mother, she abused him verbally and not only, making him think he was sick and helpless so she would permanently be dependent on her, which efed his brain. She said she always protected him and that he was spoiled, but here's the thing, he could have been 'spoiled' and STILL have had a rough childhood with bullies (which led to overprotective mother) and precarious financial situation, a kid could be considered spoiled for having bought him two bags of chips instead of having 1 kilo of rice to sustain both of them.

Yep, D'Angelo Bailey was real (and his children are big Eminem fans who get excited when they hear their dad's name on this song). In regards to the concussion/brain damage - yep, also true, apparently D'Angelo shoved his head into a snowbank (or something like that) and he was in a coma for several days. Like other comments have mentioned, he had to relearn how to do basic motor functions. However - if you read his mother's book (which, granted, should be taken with a pinch of salt), it goes much deeper than that. She says that in the aftermath of this coma, he struggled to tie his shoelaces, do buttons up, and even pour cereal into a bowl. She states that as a baby he was talking and walking at a young age and seemed gifted, but after this event he reverted to an infantile state and had to be home schooled for a year. When he was 11-12, he had a 'breakthrough', where he tied his own shoelaces, fetched the newspaper and poured his cereal by himself, and that was a huge deal. For a twelve year old. That's how severe the brain damage was (according to her). She also says that he got nightmares and would fight an invisible attacker in his sleep, and that he was terrified of anyone who looked like D'Angelo - to the degree where he would try to jump out of a moving car to escape kids. Lastly, she says that the doctors treating him when he was still in the coma had told her that he would have to be institutionalised (literally put in an asylum), and that it was a miracle that he recovered. Like I said, since he and his mother don't have the best relationship, we cannot assume that this is all accurate, however it is interesting regardless and I think there's at least some truth in this. Whether she exaggerated or not, a lot of her statements (particularly the details) are probably real.

Please do more eminem reactions bud, maybe go through albums. There are literally hundreds of absolute masterpieces..you've literally hardly scratched the surface so far. His early stuff is obviously brilliant and unique but from recovery album to present he's on another level from a technical writing, versatility and creative standpoint. He's gotten better the longer he's been doing it, perfecting the craft and cementing his G.O.A.T status unequivocally. Be prepared to have your mind blown to pieces by Bad meets evil, Marshall mathers lp2, shady vx, Revival, kamikaze and MTBMB sides a and b albums, they're just fire give or take afew tunes.

I was bullied a lot at school by both teachers and students. The students would vandalize by belongings with ketchup and mayonnaise when I went to the bathroom, trip me on the stairs and utter racial slurs when they could, and some kids would even follow me onto my bus home so they could figure out where I lived. The teachers had no patience for my pleas and just told me to “grow up” and “get over it” and one even took my school lunch and held it over the trash can and threatened to drop it if I mentioned my bullying again. Public school is absolutely horrible.

9th grade I had a weightlifting class and the teacher was a real jerk. He was the football coach too. He took over after the first quarter because the original teacher left for unknown reasons. I was talking to him and trying to have an honest discussion and I challenged his viewpoint on a minor issue. I wasn’t disrespectful about it or anything and his face got really red and he got up in my face to the point his nose was almost touching mine and he was yelling so intensely that he was spitting and you could tell he was restraining himself from trying to hit me. I did the one thing I could think of to deescalate the situation and just walked to the office to wait for the period to be over. The next year he was replaced by the middle school’s cheerleading coach and she was a very attractive woman. My senior year I was at 250% of the credits I needed to graduate and obviously it would look bad on the school to have a student with a schedule full of just study hall so they made me pick a few classes and one of them I chose to take weight lifting again with the new teacher. I would come to the classroom during lunch and fix broken machines for her and stuff and we were fairly friendly with each other. About a month before graduation I was almost 19 and her & her husband who was the principal of the middle school cornered me in the room and tried to get me to partake in some extracurricular activities with them. Mind you I’ve known her husband since I was 14 and he was my principal just a few years before this incident happened.
