Do you remember the line in Wishing Well "If it wasn't for the pills I wouldn't be here?" I think that line really reflects the meaning behind this song. It's about choosing suicide or addiction. If he takes too many percs, he won't die, because drugs are the only thing keeping him from killing himself. I feel like a lot of Juice's fairly obvious resignation to his circumstances is really a result of him feeling like he's choosing between addiction and suicide, and to him, either choice ends the same way.

100% agree, my exact thoughts. He spoke on wanting to kill himself many times but knew he shouldnt, so he found a way of indirectly killing himself. He also said on twitter once "When I finally kill myself, dont pretend we were friends. Thanks" So I'm gonna go back to minding my own business now..

Could also be viewed as an addict's own justification, like nobody should worry cause he won't die if he takes too many. "It won't ever happen to me (death)". Those close to him confirmed he was in denial about the lean and percs.

Loving your thoughts on his music. I think he's saying he's aware that its not true, it makes no sense, but I'm a rockstar in my prime so nothing can stop me. It's a really cheap and flimsy form of positive affirmation that he sees right through but he's clinging to it.

Thank you for doing this! ''If I take many too many percs then I won't die''. My interpretation on this.... Is Juice WRLD expressing that his music, creativity, and overall sense of well-being would ''die'' if no longer able to take percs to numb the emotional pain. From my perspective, I feel that Juice WRLD is also self-aware of the fact, that if he doesn't stop taking percs then he will actually die. So he's stuck in a continuous loop between heaven and is too far deep to escape. Also ''I'm a Rockstar In HIs Prime'' could be alluding to the general state of rockstars taking drugs when they're in their prime. The ''27 club'' is a notorious age at which artists die from drug overdoses, and Juice says in one of his other songs... "what's the 27 club, we ain't making it past 21". Juice WRLD died at 21.

Its really cool that you take the time to reply and acknowledge people in the comments. I think what he is saying at the beginning is that the drugs as well as his rockstar status and his impressively rapid rise to fame have lead him to feel as though he is untouchable. I believe in a couple other videos/songs I have seen he has talked about how if people try to kill him he will shoot them first and that nobody can touch him. I also believe that there is more then one meaning in what he is saying as the drugs also are what help him perform well and that the drugs are the thing that really helps his creativity and allows for him to produce songs in the way he does which is often just going into the studio, free styling, and making hit after hit. This is what has helped him become a legend and his legacy as well as everything he has created is something that will live on forever or at least for a really long time.

The lyrics in the chorus is an oximoron as Juice knows the pills would kill him but in the song he lies to himself saying if he keeps taking he wont die which is the sad irony now as the opposite became true. But Juice acknowledged even it right in the beginning of the song he says after this line he says “that doesnt make any sense, right?” then gives a depressed laugh. This is why he was the best artist of this generation. On top of that he made this song in under 20 mins. You can find the studio session on KZbin. #LLJW

Man one of the more heartbreaking songs to me personally and thank you so much for reacting and saying your opinion about the song you give great info to me and it really does help a lot. I think this song was truly about him admitting the percs were killing him but he’s in the prime and in the what he thinks happiest part of his life so he doesn’t care about the percs killing him.

It’s great to see older generations sitting & actually trying to understand what the song may mean rather then to shut it down completely because of certain lyrics or language. Juice was a very gifted but troubled mind, I believe from my personal opinión, that the trauma of his childhood from his father leaving & having to be raised in a religious home, many of which from personal experience would say that anxiety & depression are not very well received. He vented his emotions through music from a young age but I think his anxiety, depression,& addiction was way to severe as I believe I read he wanted to go to rehab to allow his tolerance to drop but never to stop completely. The addiction was what really got to him as well as the unlimited amount of drugs he could get with the money. I may be wrong on a thing or two and apologize ahead. Keep creating content! I would also check out Feel Alone by him! 👍🏽

I’ve been loving the videos. Great insight into what addiction really is. In high school I saw many of my friends fall to addiction. Watching the documentary I was put right back into that dark place. It’s so sad to see my generation falling to addiction and struggling to break it. When we first started it was fun and helped us numb the pain of life. Lucky for me I never did it but close friends are now gone and I really miss them. Juice reminds me of these friends and it’s sad his story ends in tragedy. I would love to see you review some happier juice songs too. Just like the drugs there are highs and lows. The very first time he said the line about "if I take too many percs then I won't did" and then softly you hear "that don't make no sense do it? haha" the way I took it is he always heard people telling him that the drugs were killing him, and he understood that, but he didn't know of any other way of dealing with his issues. so he was lying to himself in a way by saying that they wouldn't kill him, but he knew deep down that they would inevitably take his life if he kept going down that path.
@tonypederson49522 жыл бұрын
If he takes too many he won't die, as in he won't kill himself, but at the same time if he drinks too much he will fly (die) same thing he said in wishing well essentially

This is just my take on the lyrics but, when he says "If I take too many percs, then I won't die." I relate it to the fact he usually made his music when he was high and believed that his music wasn't as good when he was off the drugs and therefore he won't die/be forgotten, because he's still living on through his music. About drinking the syrup, I think he's referring to lean as a cure or a way of numbing his pain. EDIT: Just read another comment which had the same idea I just forgot to mention it, if he drinks too much he knows he'll die aka fly away

When he says "if I take too many percs then I won't die, if I take too much of this syrup then I'm won't fly" and when he says "it don't make sense do it?" He knows he's lying to himself, but he's trying to make something sad upbeat.

In his songs he's talked about how he needs the pills and drugs to keep his mind away from the painful stuff. He has a line in Wishing Well, where he says "let's be for real, if it wasn't for these pills I wouldn't be here, but if I keep taking these pills I won't be here." He knows what he's doing is fatal, but he tells himself it's helping and that he "won't die" when he knows that to be false. One of the reasons I love Juice WRLD's music. He is able to articulate feelings that I have and explain why he has them or how he's fighting them (and I can then see and choose what not to do.) He was a Rockstar in his prime, and he was taken too soon. Rest in Paradise, Jarad "Juice WRLD" Higgins.

I’ve even talked to my girlfriend about this topic/song because from I take from this song When he say that he won’t die from taking these percs is that he physically will die but him as an idol as a musician him as a legend he won’t die. That he himself sees how big he is for his fans and to the world that he’s not going no where from a musical standpoint so he’s not scared to take too many percs. Yes he will die physically but not musically. I know I could’ve worded it better but explaining things has never been my strongpoint but as soon as I heard this juice track I understood him from the jump I like to feel. Day 3 of requesting doom. Get to it at your own pace Ik you’re working hard with putting out content and I gotta say you’re smashing it! Truly gonna enjoy watching you grow over these next few years. Your reactions and breakdowns are super fascinating to watch and I’m glad I found you so early on in your KZbin. Especially since I think I can speak for everyone many of us are dealing with the same thoughts as these songs. Part of the reason we relate to them so much is we can feel the lyrics rather than hearing them. Juice was really talented at painting a picture and delivering the story. And I’m glad from a therapeutic perspective you’re able to break it down. So truly Thankyou for the great content and keep it up! Respecta to juice for the incredible journey he had and brought many with. Aside from all that everyone have a blessed day and strive to be better than yesterday. You all got this. I believe in you

Doom is coming sooner than you think, but keep requesting it so it happens. Thanks for watching, commenting and following!😊👍

When he says “If I take too many perks, then I won’t die” is him saying that his rockstar legacy will be cemented if he overdoses. Making him live forever. The line about the syrup is what everyone else is saying- that it’s his creativity.

"If I take too many percs then I won't die" Is interpreted two ways to me. 1.) From personally being an addict, some withdrawals make you feel like you're going to die. And also relating to his extreme anxiety making him think he's going to die. 2.) Reference Legends Never Die. XXX, Lil Peep considered legends, died early in career but they'll live forever because everyone was calling them Legends. If he dies from overdosing, he'll live forever, he's a legend.

My interpretation of "If I take too many percs then I won't die, if I drink too much syrup I won't fly" and "I'm a rockstar in his prime" is that he is hinting at how backward and opposite his life is, and what he says. I think that what he really means by "rockstar in his prime" is "rockstar, I'm gunna die" or more literally he might be talking about how he's in his decline, because juice has always talked about being a rockstar yet towards the end of his journey "rockstar" became more and more negative and the prime of being a rockstar is right before your decline, so maybe he was reaching out for help by saying rockstar in his prime. Could also just be that he is talking about the opposite of a rockstar prime, as I've said before, a rockstar's decline.

My interpretation on it is that the percs allow him to stay up long nights and just pour his soul into his music. They help him to function and they are a part of his music since so many of his lyrics are about them. As long as he keeps taking them, he won't die since he will stay alive through his music, which is exactly what is happening now.

I interpreted the chorus as him feeling like a rockstar and feeling unstoppable, so in that sense the percs and the syrup can't hurt him. I think he's saying the high makes him invincible. Even to the thing that gives him the high and that's damaging him

I've really been enjoying your reaction videos! I think when he says, ''If I take many too many percs then I won't die,'' he is talking about his legacy/music. If he keeps taking percs and making music for all of us, even if he dies his legacy will live on forever. So in a way he doesn't die because his legacy and his message will live on.

I interpreted as getting high helps break his anxiety. Helping him to be himself. And now he used the drugs too break free from it and he blew up with music that's relatable, he will live forever. Or it's because he's living a fast life and that's what everyone wants so he will live forever because of that.

When he said if I take to many percs then I won’t die I feel like it’s either he feels like it either doesn’t matter how much he takes cuz he’s supposed to be here or it just sounded good and figured that he was just fine with how it sounded

The first lines are saying if he takes enough percs he won’t kill himself because they numb the pain but he knows it doesn’t make sense because he’d still OD and the result would be the same

Another great song from Juice is current album is called "Juice Wrld Speaks 2". Definitely recommend!! The lyrics in that speak very heavily and can really strike a cord with a listener about his pain
