I'm an old school hip hop fan and Youngboy is one of the most introspective artists out there. His music definitely touches a soul whether it's angry or the sadness. We all as human beings relate.

Great song and reaction. Thanks! I agree that it’s important to seek help if you need it. I always highly recommend it. Although, as someone with chronic depression (etc) who literally never have proper ups in their life, I find it very difficult to get adequate help. It’s a lonely place to be in. Guess I just wanted to get that off my chest or something.

Great to hear It doesn’t matter if your kids like you or not. Many times my dad said to me while growing up usually bc I would accidentally say bro, or dog to my dad & he would immediately say “I’m not your bro, I’m not your dog, I’m not here to be your friend I’m here to be your dad” or something along those lines. Along with that one of my favorites “life’s not fair” I learned this from my parents bc they say it often “we were very very blessed” & so was I to have them as parents but at the same time it’s good to seriously know life isn’t fair, sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn’t. I’m finally ready to seek out therapy at the age of 22, tried it before & stopped going bc I didn’t click with my therapist. Wont get into specifics but basically starving, having to go fight for what I thought I needed (survival mode), having a handgun within a foot of me at all times for years out of fear of an attack or home invasion, being shot at multiple times wondering if I was gonna get it or having bullet holes in my car I had to try to hide, ppl I love dying unexpectedly, holding a handgun not knowing if I was going to have to shoot another person multiple times, going to jail & court not knowing if I was going to spend years in prison (luckily only 2 misdemeanors on my record) instead of 15 I was facing, knowing friends who have died from violence or have shot people (one friend took a 7.62 to the face at point blank range & survived) the shit geeks me, I’m extremely hyper vigilant now, diagnosed ptsd, I’ve found nightmares are probably the toughest part, can’t sleep well bc I constantly wake up heart pounding in a life or death situation only to wake up & realize I’m laying in bed. Time, talking about it & weed are the only things I’ve found that help. Weed just because I don’t dream or can’t remember my dreams when I fall asleep high, taking away a huge burden. Self medicating apparently but I’d much rather self medicate with weed than take literally any prescription drug a psychiatrist could prescribe & become dependent on drugs not a plant natural to this earth, shame I’ve had to stop doing that because I won’t break the law again. Those are just the examples I can think of off the top of my head, can’t get into more serious scenarios that happened without legally bonded confidentiality. Never considered suicide & would never do that to my family & friends but yeah life’s tough, tougher than I could have ever imagined when I was young

To know the context of the song you need to understand some of the traumas he has been through. I think he wrote this when he was 18 years old. He is only 20 now. Ten children. Mother abandoned him and grew up with his aging grandparents who he loves but everyone needs him to be a man. Can you imagine being 20 with ten kids with 8 different baby mamas. How much expectations that every one needs him to be but he has no back up. He has no support or help to literally help him out. He has had like ten lives in a five year period. He is happily married with his wife and two children and just pray for his health and safety and that he gets through all this pain for his children whom he obviously loves. All of his children are rich and very well looked after. All private schools and happy and healthy.

This comment is admittedly not at all about the video I’m commenting on, but I was watching another of your videos and thought of a song that would be absolutely perfect for your channel and figured suggesting it in your newest upload would probably be the best way to go about it. The track is “Shrunk” by Aesop Rock (who is hands down one of the greatest and most prolific wordsmiths to grace this planet in several generations, possibly ever), and as the title somewhat cleverly alludes to it is about his first attempt at seeking professional help regarding his mental health - in fact it is the story of his very first therapy/counseling session at a mental health clinic. Perhaps that doesn’t quite seem like the most riveting thing to write a song about, and indeed in the hands of a less capable lyricist that would likely be true, but trust me when I say that Aesop Rock can turn stories about the most inane concepts into epic tales, and he very much does exactly that on “Shrunk.”

I've been watching your channel for a few months now and I wanted to request a couple songs. First one is called Flawed by Chris Webby, It's a great storytelling song and would love to see a therapist opinion on this song. Second one is called Dance With the Devil by Immortal Technique and this song is a heavy one so I'm warning you now because it is pretty graphic and I'm not sure if it's something you'd wanna put on your channel because of how violent it is. Only reason I'm requesting it is because even though it's graphic it touches on real issues that happen everyday and would love to hear what you have to say about it.
