The last few seconds of this song is absolutely heart breaking because you can literally hear just how broken he was when he wrote/recorded this song. I’m so thankful that he seems to be in such a better place mentally especially since his son was born.

Been waiting for this one. This is my go to workout song, always brings me back to why I started.... This song perfectly explains what was on my mind when I couldn't find the words myself. I believe he's talking about himself and the way he sees himself as not enough and will never be the person he's meant to be. No matter what he does or how hard he tries but there's no point in stopping. Just my thoughts, Stay blessed everyone.

I could never put my finger on why exactly NFs music means so much to me, more than any other artist I have ever listened to. When I found he released "the search" I wasn't only excited but I was also really nervous, but why? I have connected with Nate and his music so much that when he releases new music, I want it to be successful much more for him personally than simply for my own ears.
@reneedisabatino36932 жыл бұрын
I completely understand what you mean. I get so nervous when NF releases new music. Not bc im worried i won't like it but bc I want the rest of the world to love it and see what we as NF fans all see in him. We want Nate to succeed not just in his music but in his life. And alot of that means him having happiness in his life as much possible! I think we care and connect so much bc most NF fans are very compassionate and empathetic people. I know i personally care more for others than i do for myself. So we want to see NF get everything his heart desires.

"I'm at war with peace" is such a perfect line for me. That's just anxiety for you. My mind literally won't allow me to just accept that everything is fine. this chorus perfectly describes the dynamic that's developed over the past year or so between me & my youngest daughter (age 16) caused by significant histories of intergenerational trauma running through both my & my ex-husband's extended families, along with longstanding & repeated traumas experienced within our nuclear family unit. When she gets upset, especially if it leads to crying or any kind of outburst, it severely triggers my trauma responses, my brain's go-to is to freeze, usually accompanied by some level of dissociative shutdown that makes it nearly impossible to even address her issue in that moment, let alone be helpful in any way. And of course her brain's response to my response is an abandonment mélange, with each episode essentially retraumatizing both of us. My therapist has been trying to help us navigate through this, but the therapist she's seen since 7th grade hasn't really been serving her needs adequately for a year or more now. it took awhile for her to be willing to accept the idea of a new therapist, but she eventually came to the same conclusion I did, the therapist just isn't equipped with the tools needed to be effective now that my daughter's becoming a young woman. They mainly work with younger children and aren't nearly as trauma informed as we need for her. we've had her on local wait lists for months now to get in with a new clinician, but our state (Utah) is one of the most underfunded in the country for mental health services, especially for kids. And since she only has medicaid coverage that further limits our options. So yeah.. this particular track hits pretty hard for me.

I think it hurts Nate that sometimes he's incapable of helping people due to his own weaknesses because that's exactly what his mom did to him. I think he's very hard on himself because he doesn't want to do to others what his mom did to him. Obviously he's way too harsh on himself and that's largely due to his mom.

7:38 should be his relationship with (some) fans because fans usually "come across" even when they dont really understand the artist but nonetheless like his music. It's like them coming across to say they love him and love his music without knowing what it is about and he isn't happy with it cause music is his life and he wants fans to hear it.
